Cedric’s birthday pt 2
The common room was getting foggier and foggier as the night went on. By this point in the night the fourth years had mostly retired, but the rest of us raged on. I was taking a break from dancing, sitting with the boys as they smoked. I was pissed enough to not care that I normally hated the smell of weed and was indulging in the blunt the boys passed around.
D had disappeared at some point in the night, and normally I would have gone looking for her out of concern, but I had happened to notice that Cedric had disappeared around the same time.
At some point in the night while sitting with the boys, I heard a familiar muggle tune take over the speakers. I got up so quickly I almost lost my balance. Making a bee line for the dance floor, I started swaying to the music, drink in hand.
I had been dancing to wizard music all night, and although not bad, I preferred muggle music.
While dancing, I was too engrossed to notice the people around me, and as a result fred bumped me lightly.
“Sorry” we both went to say at the same time. He rubbed his arm that held the drink casually as I tried to avoid eye contact.
Fred smelt heavily of firewhiskey, and he was looking down at me like I was a mystery he wanted to solve. He was drunk. Obviously.
“Can I help you?” I asked annoyed when he didn’t walk away. “I don’t know, can you?” He smirked.
“No, I can’t, will you leave now? You’re killing my vibe.” I frowned.
“I’m just trying to be friendly Nott” he said not budging.
“Go be friendly with the Ravenclaw boy, he couldn’t take his eyes off you, that’s for sure.” I said referring to the boy running the drink bar.
“Jealous, nott?” Fred teased.
“You’re insufferable, why would I be jealous?”
“I don’t know, maybe you wanna get in my pants, I’m pretty irresistible, I know. But you’ll have to get in line.”
“I have a boyfriend, I don’t need to sit here and listen to your attempt to flirt, or get under my skin, whatever this is.” I said turning to walk away.
“Where’s your boyfriend now?” Fred yelled after me a chuckle in his voice.
I ignored him and kept walking but his words followed me. This was the first party of the year and Terrance hadn’t even came with me.

The next morning I woke up with a raging headache, and a bitter taste in my mouth.
I don’t remember when I left the party last night or how I got into bed but I didn’t care either.
I rolled over with a groan pulling the covers up over my face to block the harsh light shining in my face.
Someone pulled my covers down. And the light faded. “Get up, or you’ll be late.” One of my roommates said, daisy, or maybe rose. I couldn’t remember the last time I’d spoken to her let alone her name.
I groaned again, rolling onto my stomach and shoving my pillow in my face, before rose, or daisy, or whatever her name was walked away. I assumed she was leaving me to die of alcohol poisoning, but she soon appeared with a vial in her hand.
“Drink” she said flipping me over, and forcing the vial in my hand. I eyed it suspiciously, “oh for merlins sake it’s sober up potion, drink it, or don’t, I frankly don’t care.”
I sat up a bit more, bringing the vial to my mouth before throwing it back with one quick gulp. “Thanks” I said loud enough to be heard before getting out of bed and summoning my uniform.
I didn’t remember much from last night, but I did remember one agitating interaction with one Fred weasley. And as I got ready for the day I couldn’t help but hear his mocking tone in my head.
