Idk how to title stuff ok
"You ok?" Harry asked gently.
"I-" Draco broke off and changed tones. "I just wanted to be alone with my boyfriend and a bed," he said suggestively.
"Whoa, slow down. We've only been kissmates for less than a day. And also," Harry said, and raised his right hand to Draco. "If I must not tell lies, then you, as my… my boyfriend, can't lie either."
"Okay, first of all, never say 'kissmates' again, for Salazar's sake."
Harry laughed and raised his hands in surrender.
"Ok, I won't. But why didn't you want to come down to breakfast ?"
“I’m worried about how people will react,” Draco admitted.
“They already thought we were dating,” Harry reminded him.
“Not the Slytherins.”
Harry raised an eyebrow.
“I got more worried people from Slytherin than all the other houses combined. No, wait, there were a lot of Hufflpuffs. Maybe not more than all of them combined…”
Draco frowned.
“Fine. I’m still nervous.”
“I get that. Do you want us to go down separately?”
“No, we should get used to it if we’re dating. I just don’t really like attention, and you’re… often in the spotlight.”
Harry nodded.
“We’ll be together at least.”
“I guess,” Draco conceded. “C’mon, let’s go.”
Harry grabbed Draco’s hand, and offered him a shy smile. They opened the door and started down the stairs.
In the common room, there were a couple of younger students.
“Ready?” Harry whispered to Draco.
He took a deep breath and nodded shakily.
“Hi Harry! Hi Draco!”
Harry waved.
“Hi Dennis, hi everyone.”
“Did you two have fun?” someone asked suggestively.
Harry turned to the voice.
“Romilda!” he scolded.
She grinned cheekily.
“Aren’t you guys going to breakfast?” Harry asked the room.
Dennis shook his head.
“I’ve already eaten, I think that’s why everyone is here.”
Romilda cut in.
“Can I come down with you guys? I want to see the reactions when the chosen one walks in on the arm of a death eater!”
“Former death eater,” Draco corrected.
She rolled her eyes.
Glancing at Draco, Harry tentatively said that she could come with.
“Yay!”
The group moved towards the portrait hole.
As they approached the great hall, Harry felt Draco slow down. He squeezed his hand.
They were entering from the Slytherin side of the great hall. Romilda stopped in the entrance. The whispers started as they passed the Slytherin table holding hands. Pansy jumped up and stormed towards Draco.
“Uh-oh”
Pansy was scowling and by that point she had reached the gays.
“Draco Lucius Malfoy,” she started angrily.
“I can explain!”
“I am so, so,” she said, making Draco flinch. “Happy for you!”
Draco opened his eyes.
“What?”
“You and Harry are a thing now right?”
They both nodded.
“He’s your problem now, Potter. Keep the briefings safe for work, Malfoy,” she said, pulling him into a hug.
“You’re not mad?” Draco asked as she released him. “We are technically engaged.”
Pansy gave him a look.
“Please. I’ve known since fourth year that both of us are gay.”
“Um, you guys are engaged?” Harry asked.
“Yeah, it’s a pureblood arrangement by our parents. We’ve been engaged since, when?”
Pansy considered for a few seconds.
“I think we were three? Are you guys going to the Gryffindor table?”
Draco nodded.
“Can I come with?”
The two boys looked at each other.
“Is that a good idea?” Harry asked nervously.
Pansy shrugged.
“We can be civil. Blaise, Greg, come over here!”
Blaise Zabini and Gregory Goyle walked over.
“We’re eating with the Gryffindors, you coming?” Pansy said.
Blaise glared at Draco.
“Yeah, we’re coming, we have to keep you from doing anything ‘brave’ and stupid.”
People were still whispering, especially now that Harry was surrounded by Slytherins, and people were still prejudiced against them after the war.
The group, now of five people, made its way to the Gryffindor table.
Hermione leaned over to Ron and whispered something in his ear. Everyone else had turned to watch them approach.
“Hey guys,” Harry said as they got into earshot.
“Hey Harry.”
Draco and Harry sat down opposite Hermione and Ron.
Pansy sat next to Harry, and Blaise, after a second of hesitation, sat down next to Ron. Gregory sat next to Blaise and immediately reached for the food.
"Hello Draco, Pansy, Blaise, Gregory," Hermione said amiably.
"Hullo," Blaise answered.
Ron looked around at all the gossiping students.
"Should we do something about them?" he asked, although he seemed unconcerned.
"We should," Pansy decided. "Oi, everyone !" she yelled. The Great Hall quieted.
"Not like that!" Draco hurried to say, but it was too late.
"Malfoy and Potter are dating. If you can't cope with that, kindly come see me to get royally hexed," she bellowed.
"Or any of us, really!" someone added.
Everyone turned to the new voice.
"Ginny?" Harry asked incredulously.
"Yup, if you want to disrespect my friend and his boyfriend, you also sign up for a bat bogey hex by me!"
"Children! Settle down!" Professor McGonagall shouted.
"Sorry Professor!" Draco called up to her.
The chatter in the Great Hall gradually sprang back to life.
"Well, that could have gone worse," Blaise noted, amused.
"You're welcome," Pansy smiled smugly.
Draco sighed dramatically and smiled at her.
"Thank you, oh magnificent human being we are blessed to be in the presence of."
"Say it again, but without the sarcastic tone," Pansy ordered.
Draco and Pansy started squabbling while Ron and Blaise were animatedly discussing Quidditch and Goyle was stuffing food in his mouth and occasionally nodding as Hermione lectured him on his eating habits.
Harry grinned at his friends, then met Luna, Neville and Ginny's gazes from down the table.
"Are you ok?" Neville mouthed over.
Harry gave him a big grin and a thumbs up.
'That could have gone worse.' Not a bad saying for my life, Harry mused.
The End?
