Real or Fake?

"Hey, Ginny, can I talk to you about gay stuff?"

"Oo, that's the best kind of stuff!" The redhead didn't seem to find it weird to discuss this with her ex, Harry noted in relief. 

"What's up?" she asked.

"Well, Ron and 'Mione think I'm gay and that I have a crush on Draco–"

"Haven't you been flirting with him for the past two months?"

"Yeah, it backfired though."

"How?"

"He flirted back," Harry said desolately.

Ginny laughed.

"I wouldn't have called that backfiring?"

"He was just repeating some of the things I'd said to him to mock me. And he's ignored and avoided me since."

"Aw, poor baby. But how can I help?" she asked. "I'm not talking to him for you!"

"What? Oh, no, I just wanted to know how you knew you were gay. Also how you managed to hide your girlfriend from your brother when I distinctly remember you too making out at the Burrow this summer."

Ginny blinked at Harry.

"Ron really didn't know I'm dating Luna??"

Harry grinned, shaking his head.

"Well, that's my brother I guess. Anyways, um, I think I always admired Luna but didn't really realize it could be romantic until I went out with Dean. He spent all his time talking about Seamus and how awesome he is, so I finally told him to just ask him out already. I didn't actually expect him to do it…"

"So Dean dating Seamus told you there were gay people in the world?"

"No, I knew before, all my brothers except Percy and Ron are queer in one way or another. No, when I told Dean to date Seamus, he replied that I should date Luna. I'm pretty sure he didn't really mean it, because we were fighting at the time, so he just tried to return the argument with the first girl he thought of."

"But you didn't listen to him, and dated me, and then when I went off Horcrux hunting you realized he was right?"Harry guessed.

"Pretty much, yeah, except that I only realized once she had been kidnapped. Only once I thought I would lose her forever did I realize I loved her," Ginny finished.

"Ok, thanks for chatting with me. Say hi to Luna for me?" Harry asked, heading towards his room.

"I will! Did I help you?"

"Yes, thanks!"
