Hey Dad- I mean James- I mean… Nevermind

I woke to the sound of voices muttering around me.

“Who do you think she is?”

“I don’t know but she kinda looks like you prongs.”

“Yeah, she’s absolutely stunning though unlike Prongsy here.”

“Oi! What’s that supposed to mean?”

I pretended to stir and blinked as sunlight hit my eyes. I looked around me and saw four guys. Suddenly it hit me, the marauders. I gasped as I caught sight of my dad. I mumbled, “Dad..?”

James looked confused, “What did you say?”

Sirius grinned, “Speak up darling.”

Remus’ eyes widen and I cursed myself and pleaded to him with my eyes. He nodded but had this look that said we’re talking later.

I then said, “Could someone please take me to Dumbledore?

Remus answered, “I will,” he held out his hand to help me off the ground and I accepted it gratefully.

The two of us walked away from the other and I heard the other three run off talking about pranks.

Once we were out of sight he turned to me with narrowed eyes, “Who are you?”

I sighed, “It’ll be easier to discuss this in Dumbledores office,”

Remus frowned but continued walking. I could not afford to have him suspicious of me.

Once we reached the office Remus muttered some useless candy-it was crazy honestly that even back then it was his password. Not like there’s a murderer that wants him dead going around, no siree.

Dumbledork was at his desk reading something before he turned to us, “Ah Mr. Lupin, and…you are?”

I scratched my head, “Well you see future you sent me back to now for a mission, and I need a good cover to stay here and join fifth year.”

The old (though I guess he’s not super old right now) man looked troubled but nodded.

Remus turned to me in shock, “Wait…so when you called James…dad…you?”

I winced, “Yeah…” I really should’ve been more careful, but what could you expect Id only ever seen Dad in photos.

Dumbledork had a twinkle in his eyes as if he knew what his future self had been thinking, which to be honest I wouldn’t be surprised the man seriously has to much time on his hands.

Dumbledore nodded, “Very well, I believe I have a cover for you.”

He tried to look me in the eyes and I gave him false memories of being trustful and loyal to him. Of being ‘light’ and hanging around with Gryffindors. He seemed to relax a bit and I scoffed mentally and the man’s easy going nature.

“Mr. Lupin since you already know Miss…”

“Brooke sir.” If I wanted to stay on his good side I’d need manors, and Aunt Sissy has taught me well about faking niceness and how far it goes.

“Miss Brooke, I believe we’ll say she was expelled from Beauxbatons, and is you’re cousin.”

Remus still slightly shocked, nodded and looked to me. I shrugged my agreement, before a screech was heard and on my shoulder was a phoenix. I chuckled and pet Fawkes.

Dumbledore smiled his fake grandfatherly smile, “Well it’s seems Fawkes had taking a liking to you.”

I pretend to smile back, “Yes it seems so, we should be on our way then right Remmy?”

I internally winced at the nickname, this wasn’t my uncle. Not yet at least, but I’ve lived with him since I was 11 so it came naturally I suppose.

Remus nodded, “Come on, you can meet the others then.”

The two of us walked out and he turned to me, “Time travel? That’s a new one… So you’re James’s daughter then right?”

I nodded, “Yeah I am..”

Remus smiled, “You called me Remmy, you must know me in the future you’re dad calls me that all the time.”

I smile sadly, “I do know you, and I’ll explain everything after you’re mind settles with the idea of time travel. And I need to get used to the past now. But you can’t tell the other okay?”

Remus nodded, “I won’t…I think you should tell James though I mean after all you are his daughter,”

I bit my lip, “I’ll figure it out for now they can’t know okay?”

Remus sighed, “Alright..”

I smiled at him and we walked back to we’re we had been to find the others.
