Nemo
Family dinners. Regulus used to hate those.
He hated the fancy robes, the classical music, the stuffy air, most importantly, he hated the "family".
When an old friend of his invited him to a dinner with all his friends, he realized that that was how a family dinner was meant to feel like.
Since then he has loved family dinners. He loved seeing all his friends together. He loved his new family, the family that grew with every new child, pet and spouse.
James held his hand as they walked to Rosier-Lovegod's home, it was a small yet homey house. Pandora made sure there were a lot of plants and crystals so everybody felt welcome.
The room was buzzing with motion as they went inside. Pandora was the first to greet them, excitement glimmering in her big blue eyes. "Reggie, James, it's so nice to see you! How have you been?" Her usual soft smile resting on her lips.
"Lovely, you?" James answered, smiling brightly. James and Pandora loved each other, they loved talking about space and alien theories.
They went to the living room and seeing as everyone arrived they started eating. Everyone sat around a round table, Regulus was sitting with James to his right and Mary to his left.
They all ate the lovely food Xeno made and they chatted about all sorts of things.
The kids sat at the end of the table, seeing as they were all friends they got along well, at some point Luna stood on her chair and gave a short speech about how the witches made the fire people tried to burn them with cold. It actually made a lot of sense and Luna gave some fair points.
"I'm not sure she's not a witch" Mary whispered proudly to Regulus, Mary was obsessed with witchcraft and taught Luna all about it.
"You sound way" He dragged the 'Y' "too proud, Evans"
"Shut up, Potter" She spat the last name as if it'd been an insult, though he could see she smothered a giggle.
It was hard stopping the smile from spreading on his face.

"Dogs or Olives?"
Hours after the dinner the kids went to sleep, the adults were now sitting in the living room, just talking as Fredrik flys over their heads.
James had asked the question, like every other family gathering, the same exact random question. Everyone had premade answers, they all knew who had to answer first, second, third, and so on.
"The answer is obviously cats" Is Regulus' answer,
"I think it's chips" Is Pandora's,
"It's definitely werewolves" Is Sirius',
"Sirius is right but not specific enough, it's werewolves that live in small shucks" Is Peter's,
"No no no, it's apples" Is Xeno's,
"I say it's witches" Is Mary's,
"Flowers" Is Lily's,
"Roses to be more specific" Is Barty's,
"Wrong" Is Marlene's,
"It's water" Is Dorcas's,
"I think it's Christmas" Is Evan's
"Chocolate" Is Remus's, and as always, everyone agrees.

"Jamie" Regulus called.
"Yes, love?" James, as per usual, was working in the living room with his laptop in his lap. His glasses were sliding down his nose slowly.
"Where's Orbit?"
"What?"
"Shit"
"Fuck"
"Indeed"
They're both sprinting out of their home and are calling for their first cat, the one that started it all.
"Reg, I think I found her" James calls and Regulus turns around to see an almost identical cat to their Orbit, the only difference was that Orbit's nose was pink, unlike this cat, who has a brown one.
~where is orbit?~ runs through his mind. He's worried.
"No, Orbit has a pink nose," Regulus says, scanning the surroundings for the cat. He's close to tears, what if something happened to her? Is she okay??
When suddenly, a meow was heard.
They both look around.
"Orbit?" James calls.
Another meow.
Regulus is holding his breath.
And then Regulus sees her, his sweet and lovely cat, his first thoughts are ~thank Salazar's ugly beard, she's safe~ and then ~who in the 666 hells is Salazar?~ he's distracted and when he's back into focus he finds himself hugging his beloved cat.
James takes the other cat in his hands and they go to the vet, where they check that Orbit hasn't caught any diseases, then they check if the other cat is a stray, which he is, so they adopt him.
On their way home they decide to call him Nemo.
Their cats greet them warmly when they arrive.

~Renee is a sweet little girl~ James thought on their last visit before adopting her. The adoption center's rules were that you had to meet the child for at least 5 times and only a couple of days later you could adopt them.
She had shoulder-length black hair with bangs and freckles scattered over her cheeks. Her smile was small but bright and her green eyes glinted with mischief.
He and Regulus adored her.
"Bye James and Regulus!" She ran to hug James, as per usual.
Then she turned and hugged Regulus too, he was caught off guard and tensed up, but then hugged her back. It was the first time they hugged.
James was beaming, so happy that Regulus reacted well to the hug, he usually didn't.

With their cats and child, Regulus and James fell more in love every day, the family of 10 lived happily ever after.
Every morning Regulus would make breakfast and Renee would get ready for school, James would pack her lunch and feed the cats.
Every afternoon they would help Renee with homework.
Every evening they cooked dinner together and played board games.
Their home was filled with love, happiness, and cat hair.
