Aurora
“Brotherfucker”
James looked up seeing a blurred figure looming above him and the boy in his arms. His first thought is ~why the fuck there is a man in my room~ and then, before he can lift a protective arm and shield Regulus from the man, he recognises the man, his long black hair, his sharp facial features and his unforgettable leather jacket.
“Padfoot” he grumbled quietly trying not to wake Regulus up, knowing he has trouble falling asleep.
“That's me” he says with a smirk James can barely see.
“Jamie?” A small voice says, Regulus is waking up.
“Go back to sleep, love” he says, glaring at Sirius for waking his husband up.
“What’s going on?” He insists, still not fully awake.
“Sirius is here because- Sirius, why are you here again?” James says.
“I found a cat”
“A cat?” that seems to wake Regulus up, the boy, now sitting on the bed, asks “where?”
Sirius chackles and nods down to his hands, where there is a gorgeous white cat.
“Her name is Aurora”
Regulus reaches over, taking Aurora into his hands. “Hello sweet girl” he smiles at the cat.
“Where have you found her?” he asks after a moment.
“Believe it or not, she found me, i woke up to her sitting on my chest, meowing at me”
“Why couldn’t this wait until the morning?” James asks.
“Uhh” Sirius made a weird voice. "I should get going. Bye” he finally said.
“Wait, Sirius!” James calls after him.
Soon they can hear the front door getting slammed shut downstairs.

A knock on the door brought Regulus back from a daydream, it was a pity he enjoyed that one. He got up from the couch and opened the door. There, he found Milly Lupin, Jesse and Bobby McKinnon-Meadows, Earl Rosier, Luna Lovegood and Harry and Lily Evans.
"Care to explain yourself?" He asked Lily.
"I know it's your day off, but the nanny canceled at the last minute so-"
"Okay, I'll watch over them for today" He said.
"Thanks Reggie, you're a lifesaver" She said Leaning over to kiss his cheek. He smiled at her and invited her for coffee but Lily being Lily she was already late for work.
He led the kids inside and was immediately greeted by his cats Orbit, Sunny, Altair and the newest edition to the family Aurora. Harry ran over to the cats with a huge grin while the other children led themselves to the backyard.
Regulus came with them outside, knowing Harry will be fine with the cats, and sat in a chair and watched as the kids played.
Earl ran over, "Uncle Reggie" he screeched.
"Well hello there, little guy" He chuckled as the boy jumped into his arms.
Regulus still couldn't believe Evan managed to convince Barty to adopt a child. He and James decided years ago that they will not have kids, well at least not in the next decade.
Earl started to talk about his new favorite thing (Regulus couldn't keep up, it changed every time they met and they met at least twice a week) after a while of listening to Earl rent with his small vocabulary Luna joined them and she, apparently, knew everything about the subject. It was quite nice to see his friends' children get along.

When James got home from work his heart almost melted at the sight of his friends' children napping in his living room with his cats and his husband.
He went over to Regulus and ran his fingers through his black curls.
Regulus woke up slowly and when he fully did James kissed him softly.
"Heya, love"
"Hello my deer husband"
James chuckled which brought a small grin to Regulus' mouth.

Their friends came, one by one to pick their kids up.
Each mumbling a thankful "thanks" to Regulus as the kids hugged him goodbye.
He was the biggest softy when it came to his friends' children.
