destiel + fam ~ cowboy boots
"Dean! Wake up!!"
Groaning, he stirs, pulling his blankets higher.
"Dean. We have something for you."
At Cas's familiar voice, Dean lowers the blankets a fraction, blinking at the bright light. Four figures tower above him, all recognizable.
"Jack! Turn the lights down!"
"What..?"
The lights dim, and Dean's confusion clears.
Of course. It's his birthday.
As if on cue, the four- Cas, Sam, Jack and Claire- burst into song.
"Happy birthday to you..."
Their faces are split into almost identical grins, and Jack leans forward,
"Hip hip?!"
"Horray!!"
"Come on! Open your presents! This one's from Cas!"
A poorly wrapped parcel is shoved into his lap as he eases up, rolling his eyes at his family.
"You didn't have to."
Claire groans,
"Yes we did! Now open it!"
"Okay, okay..."
He pulls off the wrapping, and they quiet as he lets out a soft noise of appreciation.
Inside the paper is a pair of leather cowboy boots, decorated with beehive designs. Swirls of light blue dance across it, drawing Dean's attention to Cas. His husband's eyes are the same colour.
"Thank you, Cas. It's- it's wonderful."
