"You left me for dead, Little Black"
Regulus handed over the sack of galleons, a huge scowl on his face.
He didn't want to be here.
He didn't want to be doing this.
"Seems like everything is in order, Little Black."
"You aren't allowed to call me that anymore, Crouch."
Barty merely chuckled lowly.
"I will do as I please, unless you want you're sweet little sun to go night night."
Regulus gets quiet, but continues to give Barty a glare that, if it could, kill.
"Much better."
Barty continues to watch Regulus, keeping his hands under the table and sharpening a dagger - just in case.
"...What happened to you, Barty? We used to be friends.."
"Friendship dies when you leave us for dead, Regulus."
"I DIDN'T LEAVE YOU FOR-"
Barty has that dagger up to Regulus's neck in mere seconds, quickly shutting Regulus up, and keeping from yelling anymore.
"Watch your tongue, Little Black, I don't want to have to use this."
Regulus's glare gets even more murderous if that was even possible, but Barty was right, he was in no position to argue. Too much was at stake to start fighting.
"Rosie, come bring little Black's sun," Barty calls into another room.
Evan shows up a few minutes later, basically dragging a knocked out James.
Evan doesn't look at Regulus.
"James.."
Regulus mutters as he looked down at the limp body of his love.
"You better not have killed him-"
"Of course not, little Black, why would I kill something so valuable?"
Regulus looks at Barty and Evan, disgusted that they were ever friends, that he ever loved them like brothers.
"You know, little Black, I really thought you were our friend. But then you choose the sun over us, you chose to leave us for the Aurors to destroy, torture, and kill us both."
"I didn't-"
"Yeah. Yeah you did. Now I suggest you grab your stupid sun and get the hell out of my sight before I start feeling less.. merciful."
Regulus nods, and goes to take James from Evan's grasp.
Regulus apparates away with James, back to their home.
He takes a good look at James after carefully laying him down in bed.
Bruised and bloodied, he didn't get taken without a fight.
"James.. I am so sorry.."
Regulus whispered to the knocked out James.
Regulus couldn't believe he'd been blackmailed.. by his best friends of all people. Well, ex-best friends.
But at the same time he wasn't surprised. At least it was done now, or so he thought.
Regulus starts to tend to James's wounds, when suddenly, he feels him stop breathing.
His heart stops beating.
All of James's vitals just stop.
Regulus's breath hitches and he starts to panic.
"JAMES-"
"Sorry Little Black, traitors get what they deserve. We lost everything, time you lose something."
Regulus wheeled around to face Barty, who was smiling a cruel smile.
"I'LL KILL YOU-"
"No, no you won't. Because, my dear 'friend', you'll be rotting right along side your dead sun."
Before Regulus could react, he felt cold metal pierce his skin, right through his back.
"Sorry, Reg, but you broke all our trust, time we broke yours. Time we got even," Evan whispered into Regulus's ear, as blood started to pour from Regulus's wound.
Regulus collapsed, glaring up at Evan and Barty.
"I.. I didn't mean to leave you for dead.. I didn't know-"
"Sure. Keep telling your lies in the afterlife, little Black. I'm not listening."
Barty's foot stomped hard onto Regulus's face; Regulus took his last breath as he felt his bones break and vitals die out.
Regulus died next to his sun, neither to ever wake again.
