Father's Day Special~ Jegulus edition
"Oh my god he's crying again," Regulus groaned as he listen to baby Harry's cries.
"I'll get him," James mumbles sleepily.
"No, I will, you sleep," Regulus whispers to James, giving him a small kiss on his forehead before getting out of bed.
James didn't protest and went right back to sleep.
"This is already a 'great' father's day. I am awake at two in the morning, with little to no sleep, with a child who refuses to sleep," Regulus grumbles to himself as he walks into Harry's room.
He gently grabs the crying baby from his crib and rocks him back and forth in his arms.
"Shh.. shh, baby, it's alright, papa is right here.." Regulus coos quietly to Harry.
Regulus sits in the cozy rocking chair that is usually used for reading and just rocks Harry back and forth, cooing to him, and cuddling with the child; trying to get him back to sleep.
It takes over an hour for Harry to stop crying his eyes out.
And when he does stop crying, he is latched on tight to Regulus, and Regulus doesn't have the heart to pry Harry off of him.
So they just rock back and forth for hours, until morning.
Harry sleeps for the rest of the night.
James comes into the nursery after waking up around six, and noticing Regulus wasn't in bed with him.
"Aren't you two just precious.." James whispers as he sees Regulus holding their sleeping baby.
"God I'm tired, James. This is only our first father's day, how the hell are we ever going to survive eighteen years?" Regulus asks in a whisper, as to not wake Harry.
"Well I am sure Harry won't always be a tiny baby, screaming his head off every five seconds, Reggie."
"Yeah, but-"
"No buts Reggie. We'll get through this, and you are such a great dad to him, we can do this. Happy Father's Day, Reggie."
"Happy Father's Day-"
Before Regulus can finish, Harry wakes up and starts to cry again.
"This is going to be a long day, ain't it?"
"Yeah, but we'll manage."
