Regulus finally opened his eyes to see James standing over him.
"Oh my god what."
"ITS SUMMER!"
James shouted, his voice happy and excited, it made Regulus smile a bit.
"Okay, sooo? Its summer, its just a season. Wait what time is it?"
Regulus says with a small shrug. He sits up properly in bed, yawning a little.
"SO?? So Reggie, ITS SUMMER!! Best season EVER! I have so many plans and things for us to do! AND IT IS SIX IN THE MORNING!"
James says happily. He had way too much energy at six am, Regulus thought.
"Isn't summer supposed to be, I don't know, lazy?"
"WHAT?? well kinda but nOT THE POINT."
Regulus laughs a little at this, but in all honesty, he was confused as to why James was so hyped up about summer of all things. Sure it was Regulus first summer since top surgery, and it would be the first summer he didn't have to stay with his parents. But James seemed to be a thousand times more excited than him about that.
"Okay, Jamie, may I ask why I am awake at six in the morning?"
"Because I wanted to see you. And talk to you. And hear your voice. And-"
"Okay okay."
Regulus cut off James as he listed all the reasons, which would have probably taken hours if Regulus had just let him go on and on and on.
"Are we doing anything super early or can I go back to sleep?"
"We are gonna go to the beach later, but I guess you can go back to sleep," James pouts as he says this.
"oh my god you are such a baby."
Regulus says with a laugh, gently pulling James into his arms.
"I'm going to try to get some sleep, because I don't want to be dying of exhaustion while at the beach later, okay, James? You are welcome to join me."
James nodded and got comfortable next to Regulus as he laid back down.
And so started their summer together.
This was going to be the first summer, Regulus was truly happy.
