Note
This story is AU/OOC and is loosely based on a combination of a few action/suspense/thriller movies that I enjoy, but I will build in more romance to the story around the relationship between Katie and Caitlin and their falling in love. There are also a bunch of other Arsenal footballers and other footballers in this.A couple disclaimers: Caitlin and Katie don't meet for a few chapters. Some of the players are antagonists (FYI I love all the players, it’s just the way I imagined the story). Also - there will be some violence (it's an action story, but it won’t be too bad), and some of the minor characters die.Hope you enjoy and mahalo for reading!

Chapter 11

Epilogue

6 months later

“You sure she’s here?” Caitlin asked. The team were in Mallorca, at a luxury hotel, where Macca Arnold was currently getting a high-end spa treatment. Caitlin, Katie and Hayley were right outside the door to the spa.

“Yep”, Hayley said. “I hooked up with a girl on the staff when I was on holiday here two months ago.”

“Of course you did.” Caitlin smiled and shook her head.

“She ID’d Macca and sent me a pic she snuck yesterday. She said she talked with her friend who is in reservations. Macca is booked at the hotel for the next few days.”

Caitlin nodded and then looked over at her girlfriend. “You didn’t have to come.”

“We take care of each other, right?” Katie asked with a smile.

“Right”, Caitlin smiled back. She reached out and gave Katie’s hand a gentle squeeze. “We don’t leave each other’s sides”, she said and blew Katie a kiss.

“God, you guys are sickeningly sweet”, Hayley said and made a gagging motion with her finger in her mouth.

Katie laughed, and Caitlin smiled, then said to Hayley, “Doesn’t she have the best laugh?””

“Can you guys please stop being so cutesy right now? We’re on a mission", Hayley said.

“Right”, Caitlin said. “Team”, she spoke into her comms.

“We’re ready”, Kim said. She, Denise, and a half dozen INTERPOL operatives were standing by down the hall.

“Denise, Are you sure you’re up for this?” Katie asked Denise thru the comms.

“I’m fine. My leg is pretty much healed. And I wouldn’t want to miss this”, Denise said with a smile.

“We’re ready”, Kim confirmed.

“Okay - let’s go!” Caitlin yelled. They burst into the spa. “Everybody out!” Caitlin yelled, then headed back to the spa's private rooms. They saw two of Macca’s guards at a closed door.

“Freeze!” Hayley yelled. The guards started to draw their weapons, so the team put them down, then burst into the private spa room. Macca was face down on a massage table, and looked up when Katie kicked the door in.

“Leave”, Caitlin said to the masseuse, who quickly ran out.

“Hi there”, Katie said to Macca.

“What do you bitches want? I’m trying to relax”, Macca said, annoyed.

“Oh, you’ll have plenty of time to relax in prison”, Hayley said.

“You guys don’t have shit on me”, Macca said.

“I wouldn't be so sure", Katie said.

“Your man we captured in Finland gave us Leah’s name”, Caitlin said.

“You made a ten million dollar wire transfer seven months ago to a bank account in the Cayman Islands”, Katie said. “We traced it, it’s one of Leah’s offshore accounts. Are you in the habit of transferring large sums of money to bank accounts belonging to assassins?” Katie smirked.

“Too bad for you she didn’t finish the job”, Caitlin said, and saw Macca scowl.

“I blew up the minivan used to transport the gun that Leah tried to kill Chancellor Catley with”, Katie said. “The van was mostly toast, but we were able to get one of Leah’s fingerprints off the steering wheel.”

“Trying to assassinate the chancellor…an assassin’s fingerprints…money transfer traced from you to Leah…your man mentioning Leah’s name…that and the rest of the shit you’re wanted for… that’s enough to put you away for life”, Hayley.

Kim, Denise, and the other agents entered the room. “We got her”, Caitlin said, looking at Kim and Denise, and then asked Kim, “You want to do the honors?”

Kim looked at Denise, who nodded towards Caitlin and Katie.

Caitlin and Katie nodded back at Kim and Denise, and then looked at each other and smiled.

“Macca Arnold - you are under arrest for the attempted murder of Chancellor Stephanie Catley”, Caitlin said, as Katie slapped on the cuffs.

“This is nice”, Caitlin said. She and Katie were at a park near the town centre harbour, overlooking the water. It was a gorgeous evening, and Katie had arranged a picnic, complete with a blanket, picnic basket full of cheese, bread and meats, and a bottle of wine.

“I’m glad”, Katie said. She smiled at Caitlin and then leaned in for a kiss. Caitlin smiled back and returned the kiss, then leaned into Katie.

“We haven't been down to this harbour since-”

“Since Leah was firing bullets at us”, Caitlin said.

“I told you to stay put-"

"Shhhh", Caitlin said with a smile. She put her fingers to Katie's lips and then leaned in for a kiss. Katie smiled back, and Caitlin said, "I can’t believe we don’t have anything to do for a whole week.”

“A rare holiday… what are we going to do with ourselves?” Katie mused.

“Go somewhere fun? You could take me to Paris”, Caitlin said. “Or we can stay here and lounge in bed all week?” She smiled suggestively and then leaned in for another kiss. “Speaking of which - any thoughts of transferring to NDA…maybe moving here?”

“Yes”, Katie said.

At that Caitlin smiled. “And….maybe moving in with me…?” She raised her eyebrows.

Katie laughed and then kissed Caitlin on the top of her head. “We’ll need a bigger place. You’ve got too many clothes and shoes.”

“Whatever”, Caitlin said. “I like my fashion. And just for that, you’ll have to buy me a dress this week”, she teased Katie and gave her a light pinch. Katie laughed and then wrapped her arms around Caitlin.

“You sure you won’t get sick of me, having me around all the time?” Katie asked with a smile.

“Not as long as you smile that winning smile”, Caitlin said back, then tilted her head back and gave Katie a kiss. Katie laughed, and Caitlin said, “I could get used to having that laugh around too.”

“In that case, I’ll move here tomorrow”, Katie joked. “But we’ll still need a bigger place.”

Caitlin laughed and nuzzled into Katie. “We’ve got time to figure that out”, she said. “But for this week, what are we going to do-” she said, when her phone buzzed.

“Don’t look”, Katie said, and then her own phone buzzed as well. “Ah, shit”, she said.

“Both of our phones buzzing at the same time...that can't be good”, Caitlin said. She picked up her phone and read a text. “Director Little wants me in tomorrow.”

Katie read her own phone. “That’s Denise. Looks like she is coming in. She wants me there, too. Must be something big, if we’re both in on it.”

“Well, there goes the holiday”, Caitlin said.

“Bad guys don’t seem to take holidays”, Katie joked. “At least not when we want to take a holiday.”

“Inconsiderate”, Caitlin joked, and Katie laughed. “Looks like it’s back to work”, Caitlin sighed.

“Well, we’ll just have to make the most of tonight then”, Katie said. She gave Caitlin a gentle squeeze, and Caitlin smiled and tilted her head up. She gazed at Katie, who gazed back, and then tilted her head down and gave Caitlin a lingering kiss. Caitlin smiled, and then turned her head forward, and then nuzzled further into Katie’s embrace, as the two of them watched the sunset over the water.
