Summary

“I’m sorry..” “Mizuki!” Ena jolts awake, her whole body covered in sweat. She sits up, her eyes squinting adjusting to the light around her. She looks around her dorm, her eyes scanning her messy bed side table to her roommates bed. There Airi was sitting on her phone silently. Airi Momoi, Ena’s best friend since they were kids. Her hair wasn’t in her signature two pigtails, instead her pink hair was messy all around her pillow. ‘What even time is it?’ Ena thought aimlessly. She sat up slowly. Greeted by pink eyes spotting her immediately. “I thought you’d never wake up.. it’s almost noon.” It causes a grumble from Ena. Having your childhood best friend as your roommate was pretty sweet, there was never an uncomfortable moment. Most times were spent out together shopping or both procrastinating with studies and assignments. Ena studies included a lot of art classes, while Airi did more in fashion design. Ena always envied her father, for having the talent she wanted. He even seemed more proud of Akito and his music career than her and her art career. She wanted him to finally see her talent, not just call her talentless. She alway hated that she was just “Shinei’s” daughter, how art teachers would be disappointed because they didn’t live up to..Him. She was going to make sure she was better than him, half the artist he would ever be. She would prove him wrong. Ena stretches, bringing her knees to her chest. But there was another problem Ena had been aching to get off her chest. “Mizuki keeps popping up in my dreams.” It had been 3 years since the.. ‘the accident’. She could remember it as clearly as yesterday. All of them had gone to Kamiyama High Festival’s. A few days prior Mizuki had messaged her asking her to talk. Ena thought nothing of it, maybe it was about the secret? Ena had been waiting for what felt like years, but she would wait forever, following Mizuki to the end of the earth; it meant she could be there for her. She remembers after Kanade and Mafuyu left, they were supposed to go to the rooftop together, to share these feelings to finally express it. Unfortunately for Mizuki, a classmate needed help. ‘Does that mean you’re also actually a guy?’ That statement always left a bittersweet feeling in her mind. She remembers the horrified expression Mizuki had when she opened the door to the rooftop, her running away, Ena chasing after her. Then those final words.. the last words Ena would hear from Mizuki in 3 years, “I’m sorry.” She was frozen, she couldn’t say anything after that. She felt so stupid. “Hello? Earth to Ena?” Airi’s voice soon got Ena out of her dazed state. “I’m just thinking, geez.” Ena expression shifted, it was more tired but still grumpy. She hugged her cat shaped pillow that was nearby. “You can’t just tease me with that! Dreams are important!” Airi was all into romance, believed in faith and all that “bullshit” according to Ena. “It’s basically just Kamiyama ‘s festival all over again.” She huffs, running her fingers through her own short brown hair, trying to make the messy strands stay down. “It could mean she’s thinking about you!” Airi paused, twirling one of her own pink hairs in between her fingers. “I mean.. do you still…” Airi was tip toeing around IT, a sheepish expression dawned on the pinkette’s face. “No, of course not.. I mean we haven’t talked in.. awhile.” Airi seems to sit up,seemingly coming up with an idea. “How about we talk a lap around the designer building, then go get pancakes.. or cheesecake?” Airi didn't have to tell Ena twice after that offer. “Hell yes!” After twenty minutes of Ena painfully getting ready, she finally was suitable to start going. She had on a simple outfit, a frilly pink top paired with a black skirt. Her make up was simple, at least as simple as it gets for Ena The fashion design building was a little bit of a walk from the dorms. Since the art building and design buildings were so close they shared the same dorms. Ena and Airi walked what felt like forever, at least to Ena, to the fashion department. It was like their art building, it was practically its own little museum. It was practically an inspiration heaven for Airi and her designs. It was a big building, with classes attached to the museum. One particular dress caught her eye. It was pink, a bold pink at that, it had so many pastels, ribbons, even a flower designed into the dress’s sleeves. Ena looked in awe.. it had so many feelings capturing it, for it just being a dress. She looked down to see the artist's name.. Yuuki Akiyama. It sounded familiar, but she couldn’t place her finger on it. A familiar voice came from behind her.. it was unmistakable. “That’s actually my sisters-“ The mystery voice was soon cut off by Ena turning around. Who faced a very pale looking Mizuki Akiyama, the pink haired girl herself. “Mizuki!?”
