Harry knew he was being followed. He was no fool and his parents certainly weren’t the best at sneaking around. Years of living with them made it even easier, the silent bickering and nudging each other in the side for fun didn’t make it past Harry.

In his defense, we also have to add that a Hat, black glasses, and hiding behind a streetlamp weren’t the best ways to cover up if you’re stalking someone. But Harry wasn’t going to point it out and destroy their fun. Besides, it was long overdue that his family found out.

Narcissa already knew and even if it was by pure accident that she found out, Harry stilt felt a tiny amount of guilt for not telling his parents. It seemed selfish but he just didn’t know how. After all, it was kind of a strange situation he had found himself in.

However, with their previous comment on Draco liking him, he figured it wouldn’t matter anymore. His father didn’t seem appeased by the thought of the blonde liking him and that was as much of a confirmation as he needed. If his family wanted to know, then they were allowed to.

Not that he minded. He wanted to scream out to everyone that he was dating Draco, he wanted to give him little gifts in public and bring him over to his house through the front door. He was willing to take all the teasing remarks his uncles would make and the various talks he would have to sit through, all if it just meant that he could publicly show that Draco was his.

Harry wasn’t possessive but seeing how many people were drooling or tripping over their feet whenever they passed his boyfriend in the hallway made him feel something he couldn’t explain. He wanted to go up, grab Draco’s hands, and stare everyone who came to close to the ground.

In one of their late-night discussions, they had discussed the upcoming school year. Both would prefer to go public about their relationship at the beginning of the year, rather than having their cover blown by some random 3rd year. Narcissa would deal with Lucius and the rest some deadly glares from homophobic students and confused letters from other pureblood families- they could handle it. Now the only thing they had to do was tell the Potters. Finding out over the newspaper or a frantically written letter from their son wasn’t ideal.

So, when his father had specifically talked about being gay days ago, he took it as his chance to come clear. And when he heard the bickering in the kitchen, saw the way they suddenly were walking on eggshells, he knew they were up to something. Later, when Harry climbed out his window and minutes later the door opened, he also knew whatexactly they were up to.

The brown-haired boy chuckled and lightly shook his head. He didn’t care, Draco didn’t care and he was just going to let it happen.

‘’Why is he going to a bookshop James?’’ Sirius coughed out, fixing his sunglasses. ‘’What is your son doing in the company of books?’’

Remus nudged him in the side and Marlene clapped his head with the newspaper she was pretending to read. “Maybe it’s because Harry is also Lily’s son and literally as much of a bookworm as her, you idiot. You hating it doesn’t make it less appealing to others’’

Lily let out a soft laugh and winked at Marlene. ‘’Thanks love’’
Holding his head Sirius scoffed and shot an angry glare at Dorcas ‘’Make your dog shut up, please.’’
That earned him another clap, a glare from all his companions, and a very slow and silent whisper from Marlene.

‘’If anyone’s a dog here, then that’s you’’

Padfoot set on to answer but then James exclaimed ‘’Ey, look he’s walking to that person- it’s a boy- there!’’ and everyone shut up, glaring intensely and trying to find the missing piece to their unsolved puzzle. Remus sipped on his water and they started moving with Harry, taking one step at a time while trying to catch a glance at the mysterious boy. It seemed impossible.

However, when their son started smiling and rushed to kiss the boy passionately, the gears in their heads came to an abrupt halt. Blonde hair. Taller than Harry. Grey eyes.

Harry James Potter was kissing Draco motherfucking Malfoy.

-

The sound of someone spitting out water drew the couple apart and their heads spun to the side, staring in the direction of the noise.

“Excuse me?’’
Sirius was leaned up against the doorframe, mouth hanging open, and behind him stood the entire rest of his family. Not only that but apparently, his mum had decided to invite her friends Marlene and Dorcas as they were silently passing money to each other, huge grins across their faces and a knowing glimmer in their eyes.

Draco started laughing and buried his head in Harry’s neck, who - in response, wrapped his arms around the blonde’s waist and pulled him closer. For a second the younger boy was unsure of what to say, not having planned this far ahead, but then he just shrugged his shoulders and gave his family a quick nod.

“Are we having a Family reunion at a bookshop? Didn’t know anyone except Lily was into reading.’’

Harry pressed a quick kiss on top of Draco’s head and then continued to move around the bookshop, this time slower to assure his boyfriend could follow and still be comfortable.

After a few seconds, Remus snorted, breaking the silence, and soon after the girls joined in, not being able to catch their breath from laughing so much. A quick glance at his father and uncle showed that they were still in a shock rigidity, mouth slightly open and eyes big.

‘’This is hilarious.’’

A second after this the Potter boy was almost crying out of laughter and his father finally snapped out of his daze. ‘’You’re dating Malfoy?!’’ Harry only nodded in agreement and his eyes found Draco’s, a loving glimmer hushing across them.

‘’You’re telling me that we spent half a year trying to talk sense into you, trying to set you up with that boy and now you’re telling me you’ve been dating him all along?!’’

Sirius’s voice sounded bewildered, disbelief written all over it and he stared at Harry.
‘’Yep Siri. To be exact we’ve been dating for over a year. Even before you started trying to set us up’’

And while Sirius started coughing rapidly, Dorcas stepped forward and patted Harry’s shoulder.
‘’Thanks mate. I’m now 25 galleons richer.’’

Then his mom smiled at him and dryly added: ‘’Well, this just proves that you’re smarter than Lupin and Black once again.’’

‘’Of course. I’m your son after all.’’
Harry replied and returned the smile. His family wasn’t making a wuss and that’s what mattered in the end. His family and Draco. His Draco.
