Chapter 1
Sirius knew he was supposed to report back to the reaping once he found where the Reaper was staying. But something about a scent on the wind drew him in. Falling back on his reckless nature, Sirius went charging forwards, racing as fast as possible to the smell he now recognized. His Pup was in that house. No way was he leaving his precious pup alone. Again!
Sirius crashed through the door, heedless of anyone around but his pup. With the briefest glance, Sirius saw his pup standing in a doorway. Bounding over, tail wagging, tongue lolling, Sirius crashed into Harry and immediately started licking him all over.
Harry had been coming back to the main room everyone had congregated in when the front door came crashing in. Within a heartbeat, there was a massive black dog launching itself at him. Harry froze, his instincts to run clashing with his empathy telling him that everything was fine.
The dog crashed into him, but there were no teeth, or claws, no growls nor snarls. Just a hot, wet, smelly tongue on his face and hair. Around them was a commotion as his Perya snatched all non-Ghyos into their wings. Alec stood in front of the other Perya with two long daggers. Harry noticed then that Brishen, Idan, and Mhin had followed the hound in and were in a semi-circle around him, with weapons drawn.
Said hound was currently whining, licking, and nosing at Harry's hand. Tentatively, Harry flexed his fingers to bury them in the thick shaggy fur. At the movement, the heavy body collapsed atop him with an oomph. Very slowly Harry let himself relax. The position he was stuck in was painfully familiar from all the times Padfoot had done this while he had stayed at Grimwauld those few short weeks. The thought brought tears to his eyes. How happy he has been this past week made him miss the few people that had brought him happiness before.
Out of habit, Padfoot being the only dog he'd ever pet, Harry's hands drifted to all of Padfoots favorite spots to be scratched. The hound, in a remarkable likeness to Padfoot, rolled into all the attention. That was just one straw to many and Harry burst into tears. Not having been given a chance to grieve Sirius, Harry buried his face into the dog's fur. "I miss you so much Sirius" Harry mumbled into the hounds scruff. At his words the hound seemed to grow excitable, squirming and wiggling. Not wanting to be squished, Harry sat up, tears in his eyes. The hound sat too. Sitting, the hound towered over Harry. The hound stared at Harry, tail wagging slightly.
"Harry, I want you to slowly back your way down the hall"
