Lily looked among the small crowd of people. A sea of black and white and grays all mourning her husband and son.
Nobody here really knew Harry, and only few knew James.
“Poseurs” Lily scoffed, thinking to herself, “these fucking people didn't even know James or Harry and they're acting like they were family or something.”
Lily hardly gets along with anyone these days, ever since that night she's had the worst temper and anyone who crosses her path gets a mouth full.
Lily walked through the small groups of people, trying to avoid everyone at all costs.
“Lily?” a voice asked timidly, “Lily could I speak to you for a moment?”
Lily looked behind her to find the pale face of Regulus Black, despite everything that was going on he had the audacity to come to James and Harry's funeral.
“Lily, can I please talk to you?” He whispered, looking at the area above Lily's head.
“Erm, no.” Lily whispered back, “get out of this place right now before I kill you!”
Regulus blushed and looked into Lily's eyes.
“There's something you need to know, um, about t-that night.” Regulus' voice wobbled as he spoke the sentence, clearly shaken by something.
“No.” Lily spoke simply, her tone letting Regulus know the conversation was over.
“Lily…” Regulus started, clearly not getting the hint.
“No, get out of here before I kill you!” Lily replied.
Lily turned to walk away, but Regulus grabbed her arm
“Lily, please.” He cried, shaking Lily
“REGULUS I FUCKING SWEAR GET OUT OF HERE BEFORE I KILL YOU!!” Lily roared, shoving Regulus to the side and whipping her wand out of her robes.
“GET OUT GET OUT YOU HAVE NO RIGHT COMING FUCKING HERE, TO MY HUSBANDS FUNERAL, TO MY SON'S FUNERAL!” Lily shrieked at Regulus, who cowered and scurried towards the door, which was blocked by and incoming Sirius,
“Reg, wha-?” Sirius started, aghast by the sight of his brother
“I’m out of here, okay?” Regulus called back to Lily, “ I'll be back though!”
Lily sat down at the table, still fuming from her interaction with Regulus.
“Lily?” Remus and Sirius said at the same time.
Lily just shook her head ‘no’ and laid her head down on the table
Remus sat down next to her, Sirius stood behind her
“Lily,” Remus started, “Lily what was that all about?”
Lily's shoulder shook and she cried silently
“Okay, I think it's time for everyone to leave!” Sirius announced to the room, leading guests out of the house.
And together, Remus and Lily held each other, the soft sound of David Bowie singing in the background.
“He’d like to come and meet us, but he thinks he’d blow our minds…”
