Chapter 2
When they walked into the Great Hall there was a lot of shocked whispering.
“Is that Remus Lupin?”
“Why’s he with a bunch of Slytherin’s?”
And so on and so forth, it got to the point where Evan grabbed his hand in a show of support. Which of course started another round of whisper’s.
“Why’s he holding Rosier’s hand?”
“I thought he was with Black?”
“Did something happen between them?”
He made the subconscious turn towards the Gryffindor table with Marlene. Their friends immediately ambushed him with questions.
“Where were you last night Rem?” Lily asked, sliding in besides Marlene.
“He was with me and a couple of friends.” Marlene responded, her tone short.
“What ‘friends’, Moony?” asked Sirius, James glared at him as he spoke which shocked Remus.
“I don’t know why it’s your business Sirius.” Remus snapped.
That shocked everyone, besides Marlene and James who already knew what happened, as far as the rest of the group knew Remus and Sirius were happily in love and nothing had happened to change that. But of course something did happen, the same thing that was making James mad at Sirius probably.
“Woah, Remus, you ok?” Mary asked, Remus could see she was just concerned not trying to piss him off further.
“Yeah I'm fine Mary, just a tough transformation.” He replied softly, not wanting to start any fights. Sirius, James and Peter all looked guilty, good, they should be.
“Oh, I'm sorry, anything we can do to help?”
“No but thanks for asking, I have to go or else I’m gonna be late for class.”
“Bye, Rem.”
“Hold up, Remus! I’ll walk with you.” James called.
“Alright, mate.” Remus responded, he wasn’t looking forward to it but James looked like he needed to say something.
They walked out of the hall in silence but once they were a good distance away and in a relatively private area James turned around to face him, “Look, Remus, I just wanted to say how sorry I am about what happened last night. What me and Sirius did was wrong and we should’ve never done it and the fact that Sirius can’t see that is so fucking messed up. We used you to potentially harm someone and it wasn’t right.”
Remus didn’t want to forgive him, but James looked so sincere, besides James would never come up with an idea like that anyways. As much as he seemed a bad boy he was actually a sweetheart. “It’s okay, Prongs. It didn’t seem like your idea anyway.”
“Oh. I didn't expect that.”
“I’m not gonna keep you out of my life because you trusted the person who was like your brother.” Remus explained, “You're one of my best friends James.”
“You’re mine too, Moony.” James responded, “Ummm… Quick other thing I think i’m maybe sort of Pansexual…”
Remus was shocked, he thought James was straight with how much he obsesses over Lily, “That’s great mate, congrats on figuring yourself out.”
“Tha-That’s it, you aren’t upset or anything?”
“James, I’m an Asexual Biromantic, why would i be upset?”
“Good point.”
“Great, let's get to class.”
As they were walking to their first class, Transfiguration, Remus wasn’t completely pissed off anymore. Sure he broke up with his boyfriend last night but at the same time he gained more friends and realized that he could still count on one of his best friends. Maybe this wouldn’t be the year his life falls apart after all.
