It is Severus' first summer holiday after the end of his first year.
It was just as he had expected it to be, and in some ways even worse. He had been really upset through the school year because as he thought there is no place would accept him and Hogwarts was no exception.
His oversized clothes which were originally for his mother, did not help people give good impressions of him, not to mention his hair which looked different from others due to his non-standard nature or due to his inability to take care of it. Because he is poor.
There was a group of boys as soon as they saw him with Lily they immediately started pointing at him and making fun of him and that make a lot of fellows avoid him more than they already do. They even embarrassed Lily by asking her how she could get around with such a dirty boy like Severus was in their eyes.
And although Lily tried to spend her time with him she couldn't because lily is popular unlike Severus, she is pretty, and kind the best friend Severus would ever have..she attracted people to her. Soon she made a group of friends to hang out with and increased the distance between them... They will mostly just meet to study potions together.
She was sorted into Gryffindor, and he was sort into Slytherin as he expected , this helped increase the distances between him and lily so that ended up being worse than he imagined...when he meet lily there is always someone who destroye the moment.
Well, what saved the year was the fact that his roommates weren't as annoying as he'd expected. Maybe that's because one of them was so sick that someone like him was pitiful while the others were particularly quiet, although he thought one of them had personality issues because he stared at him for a long time with his dark eyes, which Severus surprisingly considered as beautiful dark eyes.
Severus sighed softly as he looked out the window at the moving scenes, although he could not focus on any of them because of his flowing thoughts.
He's just thinking about how he's going to lie to his mother and tell her that everything's fine, that no one judged him for his looks and blood, and that he hasn't had any troubles this year.
With thoughts running through his head, the train finally stopped, and the students started leaving and finding their families with smiles on their faces.
In contrast to them was Severus' small, childish face, is frowning. He waited till the most of the students to are out, then finally gathered his things and slowly got off the train.
He wasn't ready to face his family. His home was no better than Hogwarts. In fact, no place had been more satisfying for him. Whether at Muggle Elementary School or at his home, even Hogwarts was not very welcome. Of course, Hogwarts was the best among them. Despite the amount of disgust and pain he felt to move his weak body to go to the great hall or to the classes, Hogwarts had a lot of space. He can hide anywhere and read books in silence while his classmates make friends of their lifetime.
Severus walked quietly, looking for the familiar figure among so many peopleb at the station and finally after walking a bit he found his mother Eileen Snape, who was dressed in her best clothes which she used to keep them for events
so she can wear them to his parent meetings at school .
Severus smiled at her when he saw her and his steps accelerated towards her, his short legs almost stumbled several times, but he caught himself each time until he reached her and embraced her.
Eileen put a smile on her pale face and hugged her son, who looked just like her. "How was Hogwarts, Sev?"
Severus didn't answer directly, then spoke in a soft, childish voice, "It's okay... The Potions Professor has praised me for my talent." He answered her kinda honestly and as he tried to show her that it was good, so she wouldn't worry.
"I see... well your mom bought some ingredients, today we'll bake together" Eileen smiled at her pale son whose eyes lit up with pleasure when he heard that.
The two talked while walking and after leaving the station they took a muggle taxi, so they can go back to Spinner's End.
When they reached the house, Severus hesitated before following his mother inside, and didn't escape from her sharp eyes. "Don't worry, your father's not home, Sev."
Severus' tense shoulders immediately relaxed, and he nodded to Eileen, then entered the house with her.
"Severus, you go upstairs and put your things in your closet while I prepare the kitchen... Bread don't wait, you know! Or the summer holiday will be full of negative energy that needs to be cleared at once!"
"yes, I am coming!" Severus smiled, picked up his bags again, and ran upstairs to his room.
“Hurry up, Severus, before the negative energy spreads throughout the house!” Eileen said out loud as she entered the kitchen, while her son moved quickly as if some monster was following him.
Ten minutes later, Severus hurried down into the kitchen, after changed into his home clothes. "I'm ready!"
"Okay then let's bake!"
The two began to bake, mixing the ingredients together in the bowl, and before they could start to knead them, Eileen handed the mixer to Severus, who was standing on a small stool so that he could work properly with her.
"Come, Severus, put down the secret ingredient!" Aileen watched the excited Severus with a smile on her face, while cheering him on with equal enthusiasm.
"Yes" Severus gripped the blender tightly and took a deep breath "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" Severus's loud scream mixed with the sound of a noisy mixer, making Severus scream like a crazy person, without worrying that anyone would hear him.
Flour soon spread on his face, but he didn't care, he screamed until he could no longer scream. This was her very childish way of making him feel better after he went through bad things. She can't change that, so she just tries to make him feel better by screaming.
Of course, after each time, the small sense of accomplishment when little Severus tasted the bread he made overwhelmed all the misery he was going through, although he would not forget anything, but his unhappy mood disappears after that, and he feels w lot better.
Here he transformed from a frowning child unwilling to go home to a child covered in flour while eating the bread he made with his mother with a big smile adorning his lips.
When Severus becomes an adult, he baked when his friend Wilkes died, but he didn't when Lily dies because his feelings become incurable, especially when Mulciber and Avery also died... he became almost all alone
