Chapter 6
Leon and Jordan stood looking down at where Hannah and Hailey were.
“I must say...Good shit, dude. Good shit.”
“What’re you on about, Leon?” Jordan raised an eyebrow.
“Your lips look a little glossy, dude.” Leon laughed, pointing at his own lips.
Fuck
“Whaaaat? No they’re not.” Jordan wiped his lips with his sleeve.
“Dude, you’re not slithering your way out of this. Fess up.” Leon said firmly with a chuckle.
“What do you know, Price?” He asked.
“Oh nothing except that you kissed Hannah Washington. On the lips.” Leon threw up one finger. “Not once.” Then another finger. “But twice.”
Jordan turned his head to face the smug smirk on his best friend’s lips.
“Relax, dude. I won’t tell a soul. Not even Melanie.” He said, “Scout’s honor but you owe me big time.”
“You’re lucky you swore with Scout’s honor.” Jordan sighed.
“I’m happy for you. Really. I know how much that moment meant to you. Finally getting to tell the girl you’ve liked for years upon years how you truly feel about her.”
“This isn’t about Melanie, is it?” Jordan asked.
“No, man. That’d be fucked up to make this about me. This is your moment.” Leon assured him with a smile.
Jordan placed a hand on Leon's shoulder. "You'll get there with Mel. Give it time. Maybe she's just as nervous as you are about it all."
"You think?"
"I do."
“Thanks, man.”
“For what?” Jordan looked at him.
“Always having my back. You're one of a kind.”
“It’s what best friends do. I've got your back when shit gets dicey.”
“Now, enough of this sappy shit, let’s enjoy our fucking night.” Leon smirked. “What do you say?”
“Let’s rock and roll like we’re the fuckin’ Autobots, my closest compadre.” Jordan fist-bumped him.
