Chapter 16

“Delilah. Delilah!”
“What!” Delilah shouted at the people in front of her.
“Where have you been?” Sebastian exclaimed, “We’ve been looking for you all night!”
“All night?” said Deliah, “What time is it?”
“Yeah, you never came back to the dormitories last night and we found Neville frozen on the floor so we assumed something happened to you.” replied Florence.
“Well nothing happened to me but I can’t say the same about Harry, Ron, and Hermione.”
“Are they dead?” asked Sebastian.
“Maybe.” She answered as Deliah led them down the stairs, “They thought someone was going to try and steal the Sorcerer's stone, so they asked me to keep watch and if they weren’t back in three hours I was to go to Mcgonagal or Dumbledore, which was about five hours ago.” She continued watching for Dumbledore’s office as she led the two down the stairs, “Ok, do either of you know where Dumbledore’s office is?” They both shook their heads.
“Why don’t we go ask Korban?”
“Korban is not Dumbledore, Sebastian.” Delilah Replied.
“He’s not Dumbledore, but you said it yourself Delilah even though I don’t agree with you. Slytherins do tend to be troublemakers, so what are the chances that he’s been to Dumbledore’s office before?”
“So what are we supposed to do?” Delilah asked, “Walk down to the dorms and just hope someone comes out and says the password if we can even find the dorms?”
“Well that’s easy!” Replied Sebastian, “My brother Julina helped me figure out all of the passwords to the Dorms and Johnson told me where the Dorms were.”
“Why does Johnson know where the Slytherin common room is?” Sebastian started to lead them down the stairs as Delilah asked.
“He said she’s had some family that have been disgraceful. He’s also in his third year so he’s probably been through the castle at least a few times I would guess.” They walked for a little while longer until Delilahcould deduce that the common room was close.
“Merlin,” Sebastian replied, “We’re like the scooby gang!” Delilah gave him a pointed look.
“You know you come up with these really cool ideas and I think oh he’s definitely a Ravenclaw, but then you do stuff like this and go on rants about children’s television and I think how the Helga are you not a Hufflepuff?”
“Some of us have the privilege of being school smart and movie smart.”
They soon then arrived at the entrance to the Slytherin common room. It was a large dark wooden door with a marble snake-like arch around it.
“Ok!” Sebastian shouted out, “Now watch me do my thing.” He did a little happy dance before shouting out to the door, “Draught of death!”
It sounded as if stone was being rubbed together until you could see a dark staircase leading deeper down into the dungeons.
“And you wonder why I call it the evil house,” Delilah remarked, “It’s literally the Draught of death.” All three then started to venture down the stairs.
“Hello Korban!” Sebastian said.
“Hello Florence, Sebastian.” He said as he looked over at them, “Delilah.” He said with hatred lacing his voice. “So um what are you guys doing here?”
“You’re our friend!” Sebastian said.
“Their friend. Not mine, or Johnson, and definitely not Neville’s.”
“We need your help,” Sebastian said, “We need to get to Dumbledore’s office. We’re doing a scooby doo type thing. Can you take us there?”
“Of course!” Korban replied gesturing, “I mean who doesn’t know where Dumbledore’s office is.”
“Us.” Delilah retaliated.

Korban pushed open the door as Delilah walked in front of him.
“Ms. Black.” said Dumbledore with the usual twinkle in his eye, “What may I do for you?”
“Professor Dumbledore,” Responded Delilah with a sudden urgency, “I believe my god-brother and his friends are in trouble. They thought someone was going to steal the Sorcerer’s stone and went after it last night and haven’t come back.”
“I am very glad you came to me, Delilah,” He replied, “I will head there right away.”

Two days later Harry was in the hospital wing recovering with Delilah at the side of his bed.
“Is Harry going to be okay?”
“He will be just fine Delilah,” Dumbledore answered, “He might be better than okay with his gifts from his adoring fans, but it seems Mr. Weasley has already started on the chocolate frogs.”
Harry’s face was glistening with the few droplets of sweat lacing his hairline.
“Are they gonna-. Nicholas Flamel and his family. Are they gonna die?”
“Yes, they have enough elixir to set their affairs in order and then they will die. To one as young as you it may sound incredible but to them it will just be like going to sleep after a very long nap.” Dumbledore said with a smile on his face, “How has your mother been Delilah?”
“Huh? My mother?”
“Your mother Elizabeth Taylor how is she? “
“Professor, I don’t mean to be rude,” said Delilah as her blood turned ice cold, “But my- my mother. She died when I was six.”
“Oh I am deeply sorry for your loss,” He replied with shock on his face that looked strange even on Dumbledore, “But may I ask who you have been living with for the past five years?”
“Richard and Maria Harrington. They’re an American family in Indiana.”
“How have they been treating you Delilah?”
“I mean I don’t really like them but Steve, their biological son, I like him. He practically raised me. Besides Will, he was the only person who really seemed to care.” Answered Delilah, “I think he was insane though, he defended me against his parents.”
“Ah love,” Dumbledore responded with a twinkling smile, “ one of the most powerful forms of magic and quite possibly might be the only power lord Voldemort will never know.”
“Do you think he’s gone for good now?” Delilah asked with a slight look of dread on her face.
“I don’t believe so. He left Quirrell to die; perhaps he is searching for a new body right as we speak, but nevertheless he is not fully alive nor dead, so while Harry has only delayed his return to power, next time it may merely take someone who is willing to fight a seemingly losing battle and if he is delayed again and again, he may never return.” Just then for a slight moment Harry seemed to twitch in his slumber even if it was just for a second, “Well it seems Mr. Potter will be awake soon. I shall leave you two to catch up for a few moments.”
Delilah’s eyes lingered on Dumbledore for a few seconds before she turned back to Harry, “Harry!” She calmly said as she tapped his shoulder, “Harry!”
“Delilah! The stone! Quirrell! It was him! He got the stone!”
“Harry, relax! Dumbledore took care of it. Quirrell didn’t get the stone.”
“What happened?”
“You are going to have to ask Dumbledore.” Delilah replied looking back at where Dumbledore previously was, “But I mean have you done that before?”
“What?” Harry asked with a completely puzzled look on his face.
“You know, killed someone?” Delilah asked her hand mimicking a knife. Harry glanced at her with a horrified look in his eyes, “I mean you turned him to literal dust. Like I could go sweep him up at this moment.” Harry was absolutely speechless, “Nevermind that was awfully stupid to ask and I’m a Ravenclaw. How are you? You’ve been knocked out for a little while?”
“Good. Pretty good.”
“Well you probably want to talk to Dumbledore, so I’ll leave you to it.” Delilah started to walk out of the hospital wing when she suddenly turned to look back at Harry, “Hey Harry, just so you know I do plan to be with you. Through all of it, fighting Voldemort, your relatives, school. I’ll be here.Just so you know.”
