Chapter 10
About a week later in the beginning of November was the start of quidditch. The game to kick off the season was Gryffindor vs. Slytherin. Delilah decided to sit with Ron and Hermione during the game.
She found out after the halloween feast about the trio fighting a troll in the bathroom. She felt some sympathy for Hermione but once she was given more details about what happened, she was laughing like crazy at Ron and Harry trying to defeat the troll but held her laughter back when she watched Harry practice for this quidditch game. As soon as she arrived they were off. All of the fifteen brooms went soaring into the sky.
On the Gryffindor team the keeper was the captain Oliver, who had been teaching Harry about quidditch. The chasers were three girls. Two were third years by the name of Angelina Johnson and Robin Riddle. While the third chaser was Katie Bell who was a second year(The newest addition on the team along with Harry). The beaters were the weasley twins.
In contrast to the Gryffindor team the Slytherin team seemed to have a lot of older players. The captain, Marcus Flint, a chaser, was a sixth year, along with the other chaser, Adrian Pucey. The last chaser was Jason Carver, a second year, but he looked to probably be the youngest in his year. The beaters were Chrissy Cunningham and Herman Ewin. The seeker was Terence Higgs, a seventh year student who was, compared to Harry, a skyscraper.
Soon Gryffndor scored the first few points of the game and Hagrid decided to join them as they watched Harry.
“Bin watchin from my hut but it isn’t the same as from the crowd.”
Hermione informed Hagrid that Harry hadn’t found the snitch yet. After a little while into the game slytherin was in the lead.
Hagrid, Ron, and a nearby student that Delilah didn’t recognize got into an argument about what should be a foul while Hermione seemed to zone out. In the middle of their argument however Harry's broom started acting strange. It started moving up and down and left and right.
“Hey Hermione.” Delilah said, as she tapped her shoulder and pointed to Harry, “I don’t think it’s supposed to do that.”
“Did something happen to him when Flint blocked him?”Seamus asked.
“Couldn’t have been.” Hagrid said. Soon the whole crowd was now looking at Harry.
Ron turned to Hermione, “What do we do?”
“Leave it to me,” She said. Before either Ron or Delilah could blink Hermione had disappeared. Back on the field, the Weasleys were trying to put Harry back onto his broom just for the broom to rise higher the more they tried.
“Are you ok Neville?” Delilah asked as he sobbed into Hagrid’s shoulder. Hagrid responded for him, with a shrug.
“Delilah.” Ron said as she tapped her shoulder.
“What?” He continued to tap her shoulder, “Ron,” she turned around, “Ron! What-” She looked over to see Snape dancing around his flaming cape. “She just continues to impress me.” She said but was interrupted by cheering.
“I caught the snitch!” Harry yelped as Ron and Delilah joined in the cheers.
