(NOT A CHAPTER). An explanation.
Hi. So there’s a low chance as the original of this only had about 2k hits, but if this premise feels familiar to you, there’s a reason. About 5-6 years ago in 2019, I went by a different account name on Ao3, writing many different miraculous ladybug fanfictions. I was about 16-17 at the time, and was pretty immature. I won’t say other ones I’ve written, but if you recognize the original you may know. The original is still up, although it’s orphaned and not tied to my original account which is now self deleted. Anyways, at the time, I wrote many miraculous fics that had sexual content and dark themes. I can see the users on R/archiveofourown getting to me now and mocking me, but I am no longer okay with putting the miraculous characters in sexual situations as they are all teenagers in the source material. However, I’m still fine with tackling dark themes such as abuse and even mentioning sexual abuse as a backstory, I just don’t want to write any of the miraculous characters doing the deed. My journey of revisiting my old fics started in December 2024 when I wanted to find my miraculous South Park fic. I asked about it on tumblr, afraid the story was lost forever. Until a very helpful comment informed/reminded me that Ao3 sends you emails of all interactions you get from your fics which includes a copy and a link to the original fic. I searched Ao3 at the top of my email and lo and behold, all my old fics were there. Ironically, the hardest one to find was the miraculous South Park one I was looking for, but I did find it. At the time, I only wanted to read that one and wasn’t interested in revisiting the others. Until the start of February 2025. With the start of miraculous season 6, I became curious and started to reread my old stories. The second one I read and the one that caught my attention the most was the unfinished criminal x cop lukadrien fic, not all snakes bite. Before rereading it, I had very little memory of it. Upon rereading it, I wanted to go back to my 17 year old self and bonk her on the head as hard as I can for abandoning the fic after 2 chapters. And then I got the absolute insane idea that only an escaped mental asylum patient would have— to pick the fic back up after all these years. I was even more encouraged to do so after seeing the comments of people holding out hope for a continuation all the way in 2023, several years after I had dropped writing fanfiction. So the main issue with this is that I orphaned the original and deleted my old account. So my only choice is to refine the old chapters, then repost them on this account, then add new chapters. I don’t want to rewrite them completely as they’re pretty solid, this being one of my least weird stories and leaving me to only have to change a few details. But then there comes the second problem. Convincing AO3 that I’m not plagiarizing my own fucking story. So I’m going to attach a screenshot of one of the emails I received back in 2019 of a notification showing me I got a comment on the story in attempt to prove the original is mine, as it is. I’m in a much better place than I used to be mentally. There is still going to be romance in this, maybe we’ll even see kisses oooooooo. Dark topics will still be covered. We’re just not going to see any sex on screen. Whether if you were one of the 2k people to read the original or if this is a completely new find for you, I hope you can enjoy some of the complex character writing I have planned. Enjoy! Also as a side note— when the original was written, season 3 hadn’t finished premiering. We have a lot more content for me to work with now.
