It was a dark Thursday afternoon in November and Remus had just finished reading his book which he had started on Tuesday. He had been so into his book he had completely missed the fact it had begun raining and thunder was roaring furiously. It was going to be a stormy night. Remus stretched his joints over the couch and just sat there for a while alone with his thoughts. James had gone to quidditch practice and dragged Peter along with him even though the other part had been a little hesitant. He was pretty sure Sirius was also with them. Now that he thought about it he hadn't seen Sirius after lunch, it was pretty odd but he didn't think much about it. What he did think about is that it must be a very joyful experience trying to train in this storm. At Least he was safely tucked under a blanket he had dragged from their dorm.

Soon he noticed Gryffindor common room was becoming a little bit crowded for his liking. Seems like everyone had the same idea to come down to play, chat or just hang out because what other things would they do in this weather? Remus sat up gathering his stuff and started to make his way back to their dorm. He made a mental note to talk about a specific part of his book he found interesting with Lily. The rain was now pounding on the window very loudly and the thunder was getting more and more intense. Poor Peter has to be out there and Remus felt almost a little sorry for him, but for Sirius and James? He could almost hear the whining he was going to hear from his annoying, beautiful boyfriend for the rest of the night “Mooonyyy my socks are wet” or “I think I’m going to have a fever Moony, I can't go to classes tomorrow, please cuddle me so I might feel better”. He smiles a little to himself thinking about his boyfriend.

He gets to their dorm and balances everything on his left side so he can open the door. Opening the door he gets a little surprised seeing Sirius sitting on his own bed not facing him. He notices him wearing one of Remus’ sweaters and maroon pyjama pants. In Remus’ opinion he looks absolutely adorable. “Moony!” Sirius says happily but something about his voice is odd, sounding way too optimistic and fake. Sirius doesn’t even turn to look at him. Walking up to his bed and putting his blanket and book down, he was right about to ask Sirius if everything was okay but then the thunder struck and he saw Sirius flinch so severely Remus was in a bit of shock himself. Then Sirius’ shoulder began to shake and sobs followed, escaping his lips.

Rushing to Sirius’ side the crying boy fell into his arms shaking and sobbing. Remus wrapped his arms around his torso leading them to lie on Sirius’ bed. Sirius buried his face into his neck and continued crying. Doing the only thing he could think of, he started whispering comforting things into Sirius’ ear in a somewhat soothing manner “Hey, Hey, it’s okay love”. Remus was starting to feel the tears soak through his shirt but that was least one of his concerns. He started running his hands up and down the sobbing boys back, drawing little circles trying to console Sirius. “I’m here darling, just let it out.” The thunder came again and Sirius’ sobs intensified. Squeezing his wrecked lover a little tighter while continuing running his hands up and down his back, occasionally dropping kisses on top of his head.

He absolutely hates how hard things can be for Sirius and wished he could take away all the pain he's feeling. He also knows he can’t because that's the way things go and life fucking sucks but the bare minimum he can do is to be there for him when things get hard, hold him when he cries, wipe away his tears and then kiss it better. Or leave him alone if he wants it. Whatever Sirius wants Remus is prepared to do anything to make him happy, he wouldn't even have to ask twice. Remus is driven by Sirius’ absolutely gorgeous smile but when he's the one who’s causing it it feels soul healing. He loves this man more than he ever thought was even possible to love.

It may have been thirty minutes or 2 hours, he's not sure but after sometime Sirius’ sobs had begun to wind down. Remus had moved his hands under Sirius’ shirt and was now drawing different patterns with his fingers on the bare skin. The thunder then struck again but Sirius now only flinched slightly burying himself deeper into Remus’ neck squeezing his eyes shut hoping it would help to ease the flashbacks he gets. Sirius was so utterly exhausted. Now combing through his raven black hair with his finger Remus shifted his fingers under his lover's chin, turning his face to look at him. Not resisting, he met Remus’ eyes with a bit of uncertainty. Sirius’ eyes were puffy, red and still wet, his cheeks rosy and stained with dried tears, nose red and lips swollen. Remus wondered how he managed to still look this breathtaking even in this state. Soon Sirius had to look away from Remus’ concerned face.

“You must think I’m such a sissy, scared of the thunder like a fucking child but it’s not the thunder I’m scared of, it just brings up so awful many memories” Sirius soon spoke voice wavering. His eyes were starting to shine again and he was biting his lip trying not to let another wave of tears come through. “Hey, hey shushhhh, it’s totally okay, I understand, you don’t need to ever be embarrassed with me especially with things like this, okay?” He reassured and kissed his forehead. “I love you so much Moony, you know that right” “And I love you, now let’s get ready for bed” Sirius mumbled something sleepily in approval but when Remus rose from the bed he jolted up in panic. “Please, don’t leave me” He said while panicking. “Woah, let me just change into my pyjamas” Clearly relieved Sirius laid back down on his bed waiting for his boyfriend to join. It took Remus probably two minutes before he was climbing back into the bed. Sirius didn't waste a second before bouncing straight back into his arms getting the closest he can and settling for the night. The storm was still making its way through Hogwarts grounds but Sirius’ body was far too exhausted to get any sort of reaction out of it but he felt so much more safe in his lover's arms. “Goodnight Sweetheart” Remus whispered, giving Sirius a small peck on his lips before settling more comfortably with Sirius basically on top of him. “Goodnight Moony, love you” He could make out from the mumbles and after a couple minutes he was fast asleep. Remus soon followed the lead and sank into deep sleep with the man he loves the most.

“Let’s go and get some yum yum carrot cake from the kitchen Pete, i'm as hungry as Remus is in the week leading to full moon” James said, opening the dorm room, Peter not many steps behind. He stopped in his tracks when he saw the sight in front of him causing Peter almost crash into him. His two friends cuddled up fast asleep in Sirius' bed, him being almost invisible under the duvet and Remus’ arms securely wrapped around him. Smiling fondly he put his quidditch equipment in a near corner leaving the pair behind as he and Peter began wandering down to the kitchens for their yum yum carrot cake.
