And she’s hot.
Surge pulled herself through the crowded hallways of the C wing, a scowl almost glued to her muzzle. It was the post-cafeteria buzz, almost all of the students hurrying through hallways to get to their classes and friends all at the same time.
It sucked really. Too many people. What also sucked was her next class. Science. Usually, Surge enjoyed science. Kind of. More of a love-hate relationship than anything.
But, the thing that made all classes living hellscapes, were partner projects. Surge could work with groups, but partner projects?
Don’t get her started.
Seriously.
Surge slipped through the doorway of her science class, internally grimacing at the stuffy atmosphere of the classroom before slumping down in her seat.
It didn’t take long for the bell to ring, the outdated speakers making the noise grate on Surge’s ears. The science teacher, stood up from her desk after an oddly long swing of coffee, that didn’t really look or smell like coffee, and hurried over to the board.
The second Ms. Whatever the hell her name was, opened her muzzle was the second Surge stopped listening.
Just before Surge was about to smack her forehead into the table as she slept, someone sat themselves in front of her, placing their bag into the seat next to them, snapping Surge back to her non-sleeping senses.
She sat up, the back of her paw wiping the edge of her muzzle—just in case. Surge was not a drooler, only to see the most unwanted person in front of her.
Surges ears flattened almost immediately, blue eyes narrowing slightly. “Sorry, for uh..waking you up..”
The pink hedgehog frowned almost. It was more of an awkward, apologetic smile. It only managed to piss Surge off more.
“Ms. Stevens said we had to get into our partners for researching our project today.” Surge gave a begrudging nod, a groan threatening to leave her muzzle.
She really couldn’t deal with this today.
“What are we researching again?” Surge glanced around the room for a moment before leaning back into the weird feeling plastic seat. “Biochemistry and how it affects the medical field.”
“Ookay..?” Surge’s gaze shifted around the room quickly. She couldn’t look at her. No. Nope. She would simply just pass out. Or away. The ladder didn’t matter at this point.
“Are you alright? Are you listening to me?” Amy’s brow furrowed, her voice tinged with concern.
Geez! Why was everyone so concerned all the damn time!?
Surges gaze finally pulled itself onto Amy, the tenrecs slight scowl dropping completely. Biiiiiig mistake.
All the thoughts that were once in Surges head, no matter how rude, asshole-ish or even unpleasant, disintegrated in an instant. Not good. Surge almost forgot to breathe.
Amy was breathtaking. Literally. Seriously. Surge could’ve died right then and there.
The tenrec forced herself to nod, shaking her head to dispel the blankness. “I’m fine,” she admitted gruffly, her voice coming out a little ruder than expected. “Just zoned out for a moment.”
Amy nodded gently, crossing her arms over her chest. “Well, do you have any ideas for the project? We could do a presentation?”
Surge shook her head. “No. Don’t like those.” Amy gave another nod. “We can figure it out later.” Surge scratched at the space behind her ear, sitting up slightly. “We can head to the library to figure something out and do some research.” Amy suggested, her arms dropping into her lap.
“Sure. We can meet up after seventh.” “Awesome. I’ll cya then, yeah?” “Yeah.”
