Part 15
Two knocks came from the door of the Ravenclaw dorm room. pandora opened the door to find Lily and Dorcas holding some crystals wrapped carefully in translucent light blue tissue paper and a few manuals on plants and flowers. They were here to help her with the Pureblood Meeting taking place in only 2 weeks now. Time was passing far too quickly and she wasn't read.
She had completely completely forgotten that she had invited them but it didn't take long for her to remember why they were here. She greeted them, thanking them as they handed her the gifts. They found a place on her bed, placing themselves on the side and leaving a place in the middle for Pandora to sit.
She placed the crystals gently on her nightstand, squeezing them into any place that she found suitable for them and placing the books in the shelf underneath the main nightstand.
"Right. Lily, mind the sharp thing hanging from there." Pandora pointed to a sharp obsidian necklace hanging from a nail on one of the posts on her bed. Lily looked over to her side and slowly shifted away slightly to avoid poking herself on the stone. Pandora laughed as she settled between the two, though it died slowly when she reminded herself why they were even here in the first place.
"Dora. How long until you have to meet up with the Blacks and Crouchs?"
"Two weeks and there is going to be a mystery family apparently. The only info we have on them is that they don't agree with the popular 'pureblood supremacy'" Pandora cringed at the words. She hated even thinking of them but saying them aloud was even worse. She knew her views, she knew Evan's, Barty's and Regulus's. She knew that they didn't agree with their parent's points but something still felt so wrong about mentioning those two words. Something about them made her feel like she was agreeing with it somehow.
"Interesting. Is Sirius invited?"
"Why does everyone ask that?"
"Because it involves the Blacks meaning if he is invited we get drama." Dorcas laughed in agreement. Pandora had to admit it was true. Sirius could always cause some drama somehow, no matter how small the situation is.
"Well you will be glad to know that he has been invited according to Regulus." Pandora stopped herself before she started speaking in the formal manner that always appeared when she talked about these things. It just didn't sound natural to her.
"Yay! Tell us everything after!" Dorcas looked determined now and Pandora feared what she was about to ask next, "Have you been to any meetings with Sirius?"
"No, you're going to have to ask Regulus for past information or maybe even Evan or Barty. It is quite rare to see him meaning that this meeting is going to be important." Pandora sighed, "Plus we are not allowed any wands or magical objects as well as no forms of communication."
Lily was deep in thought. She had heard something similar in the dorms last week and the voice belonged to somebody who she knew quite well. Sirius had freaked out slightly when he had found out from Regulus about his invitation to the meeting. He hadn't been told from their mother but his own brother. What a stable family. "I think I know who the mystery family is."
"Who?" Pandora asks, now curious. Dorcas perked up at the sound of potential drama to spill to Barty and the others.
"I think it might be the Potters." Lily is now grinning, barely holding herself together.
"No."
"Yes."
"How do you know?"
"James wouldn't stop moping about for days and he listed off the same rules as you did."
"James? Moping? What kind of universe is this?" Dorcas asked, another shit eating grin appearing in the room.
"Apparently the universe where James finally got invited to a meeting." Pandora shrugged, her expression matching the other's.
"Fair point."
"Have you told Regulus yet?" Dorcas asked, obviously more invested in this than Pandora. "Do you know if Sirius has spilled it?"
"I haven't told anyone other than you guys but has Regulus mentioned anything yet Dora?"
"Nope not a single word form him. Literally."
"Wait." Lily interrupted, "What do you mean 'literally'?"
"Not talking at all. Well much." Pandora shrugged, "He does this every time, it isn't concerning or dangerous for him. He's fine."
"Dorcas?"
"Yeah it's normal for him. Give him some time once the thing has passed and he will be fine."
"Ok then." Lily was left completely speechless. She had to take their word for it as she wasn't as close to him as they were but it was still worrying. Well for her at least.
"Trust me he is fine. Do you want to tell him later? His reaction would be priceless." Dorcas and Pandora laughed, their smiles now reappearing. Lily couldn't help but laugh along at the thought of Regulus finding out that his little boyfriend had been invited to the gathering.
"Regulus would be devastated. Not being able to talk or interact with James during the whole thing. Only being able to sneak small glances here and there." Pandora sighed, a smile still on her face. This time both Lily and Dorcas were confused.
"Pandora. Elaborate." Those two words from Dorcas confirmed that they, in fact, were completely clueless on their formal gatherings.
"Well, even if you are best friends, or even dating, you are not allowed to speak unless spoken to by an adult or made to speak to your perfect match." Pandora felt disgusting after explaining it. It was a horrid system but she didn't have the power to change it.
"That is seriously fucked up."
"Well everything about them is fucked up. I mean, you know how the Rosiers, Blacks and Crouchs treat their children."
"Still."
"I can't exactly change the rules Lils."
"Ok fine."
Dorcas was looking over the rules that Pandora had just explained. It was so fucked up. How were some people okay with that? Lily paused to think again, a memory seeming to flash across her eyes.
"James was talking about how he was looking forward to talking with Regulus."
"Well shit. He doesn't know does he?" Pandora groaned, burying her face in her hands. She hoped that Sirius had explained it to him because she sure as hell was not. "Did Sirius at least attempt to tell him what he was expected to do?"
"Yep and James was not happy."
"As to be expected." Pandora looked up to face Lily. "He had just been told he couldn't speak with his boyfriend for, like, 2 hours and maybe even weeks after, if they are to be taken to their manor instead."
"Oh shit. We didn't think about that." Dorcas muttered, "James will be worried sick."
"So will Remus." Pandora chimed in.
"No he won't. He wouldn't give a flying fuck about Sirius. James would but Remus is a no go."
"Where is Sirius anyway? I only see him in lessons. Have you heard anything from Regulus?" Lily and Dorcas turned towards Pandora.
"No." Pandora gave them a guilty look. She had no idea where the eldest Black was.
