Chapter 4

Harry, in fact, did not have to wait long to be reunited with his godfathers.

Five days into the summer holiday Harry heard a very loud knock coming from the downstairs front door then, the sound of heels hurrying down the hall towards the door to open it.

“W-Who are you!?” Petunia’s high pitched voice could be heard in the whole house.

Harry, being the curious but precocious Gryffindor he was, took out his wand and slowly left his room and descended the stairs.

“Moony!” Harry shouted in joy when he arrived down stairs and saw his former DADA professor then proceeded to run and crash into his beloved pseudo-godfather’s arm, feeling safe for the first time ever since he left Hogwarts.

“Hello cub.” Remus said softly, voice full of blunt adoration.

“Y-You’re one of those freaks! Vernon! Dear come quickly” Petunia said, screwing her nose in apparent distaste. Vernon came rushing, but immediately stopped as soon as he spotted Remus who terrified the fat man with his multiple scars and eyes that were suddenly shining in a bright gold color.

“Hello Petunia, it’s been a while since I have seen you.” Remus in a cold voice, completely ignoring Vernon.

“And I wished I never had to see your face at all!” Petunia spat at the werewolf.

“Oh trust me I do not like my coming here either.” Remus responded simply then he turned his attention back to Harry who was still wrapped protectively in Remus’s arms. “Go pack your things cub, bring everything you need and come back downstairs, I will take care of this… little problem of ours.” The werewolf said softly offering a warm smile as Harry hesitantly made his way back upstairs.

As soon as Harry was out of sight, Remus turned to the Dursleys with a very dark look on his face. “Listen carefully and don’t make me repeat myself, Harry is going to come with me. Where? It doesn’t concern you in the slightest. You will not tell anyone about what happened today and live your life as if we didn’t exist and when I’m obliged to bring Harry back here you will leave him until he has to go again. Am I clear?” The werewolf said coldly, every inch the dark creature he was.

The Dursleys, who looked rather pale at the moment all nodded their heads quickly, clearly not wanting to anger the very skilled wizard.

Harry came back down with his trunk to find Remus still standing by the door looking partly amused as Vernon Dursley had turned into a very worrisome shade of purple at this point.

“Ah, cub! Got everything you needed?” The former professor said as he quickly reached for Harry’s trunk to shriek it and put it in his pocket.

“No, euh, Hedwig’s cage is locked in the cupboard under the stairs, as well as my wand….” Harry said as he pointed towards the tiny cupboard.

Remus who felt more and more murderous by the second under his collected face silently waved his wand to undo the lock on the small door; he perfectly knew that his cub easily pick the lock himself as he had said in one of his many letters, but that is a skill that his uncle and aunt best be unaware of.

As Harry made quick work of picking his belongings, he was not fast enough as Remus had the time to take a look inside the cupboard; it had a crusty tiny blanket and pillow, some broken toys and dusty children’s books. It looked as if a little child lived there.

And oh Remus had never wanted to harm Petunia Dursley as bad as now.

The moment Harry picked his things Remus grabbed his shoulder and led his out of the house and before closing the front door the older Gryffindor turned around and looked Petunia dead in the eye as he said “She would’ve been so disappointed in you Evans.” And then he left.

After a beat of silence a crack was heard.

Vernon simply huffed and went back to the living room with Dudley who stood behind them the entire time. But Petunia stayed, Remus’s words echoing in her head.

She would’ve been so disappointed in you Evans.”

Petunia’s eyes sank shut, she had disappointed that girl a long time ago, nothing new here.

The discomfort of apparition was quickly replaced by absolute amazement as Harry laid his eyes on a massive house, which could be considered a Manor at this point. Remus then slowly led Harry inside to let the teenager look around as he walked.

“Glad to see that you like the place.” A quite nervous voice said.

Harry looked in front of him for the first time to see Sirius standing in the middle of the living room.

“Sirius!” Harry cried as he took off running towards his godfather. Sirius immediately opened his arms and welcomed his godson with a fierce hug. “Oh how I missed you pup.” The older man said as he kissed Harry’s untamed hair.

“Sirius.” Remus said with a raised eyebrow.

“I know Remus…” Sirius sighed as he reluctantly pulled Harry away and placed his hands on his shoulders. “Harry, Remus is going to run some tests on you. Things have been going and Remus and I came to realize many things but before we tell you more we must run those tests.” Sirius said in a very calm voice although the serious look on his face told Harry that this was important.

“Okay.” The boy said quietly, fully trusting his guardians.

Sirius nodded and backed away to let Remus stand in front of Harry and wave his wand at him. Sometime passed and Colors started appearing on different parts of Harry’s body, Sirius silently cursed while Remus couldn’t stop the frown that took place in his face. “We need to fix all this mess.” The werewolf mused to himself.

Remus started muttering some very strange sounding spells and suddenly Harry let out a sharp breath as he felt his magic traveling in his body, he felt as if his amount of magic had tripled all of a sudden. After a few more spells, he felt calmer and more in depth with his own body.

“What was that?” Harry said feeling very lightheaded.

Sirius and Remus immediately helped him down on the couch and sat on either side of him looking very grim.

“Listen pup there are a lot of things that were kept hidden from you.” Sirius began. “Harry, you aren’t just any wizard and you are not just ‘the boy who lived’ or whatever other shit people keep telling you. You are Harry James Potter, son of the wonderful James Potter and Lily Evans, The heir of the ancient house of Potter as well as the Heir of the Noble and most ancient house Black through me.” Harry held his breath. “You possess two seats at the Wizengamot; Potter and Black which you will hold as soon as you come of age. But for now they are held proxy by Dumbledore. Still following me?” Harry nodded his head. “The Wizengamot is basically the place in which most of the laws are being passed so each seat is very important as it decides the shift of power in the room between the dark and the light. As of now Dumbledore and Lucius Malfoy hold about the same amount of seats through proxy of course so they are at each other’s throats all the time.” Sirius takes a deep breath and throws a look at Remus.

“Now that the mini political lesson is done I will be talking.” Harry then turned to Remus his green eyes full of so much curiosity and thirst for knowledge that it felt for a moment as if Lily was looking at him “When Sirius escaped Hogwarts I immediately quit my job as your professor to go after him, when I found him we came here to be safe from the Aurors that were sent after him, but something was very strange about his magic; I literally grew up with him so I could tell right away that something was wrong. I decided to run some tests on him and I  was right; His magic was suffering from heavy blocks, there was a tracking charm and a very complicated spell that forced him away from his own family magic; basically he couldn’t claim his seat at the Wizengamot nor any of the known Black properties -not this one of course even the goblins don’t know about it- it was awful, so I talked to him about and he told that he felt that my magic was wrong too so I ran tests on myself only to find the same spells on me too expect that for me it disconnected me from my wolf side, as I grow older I am supposed to come in contact with my wolf side but this spell did not let me.” Harry, for a brown skinned kid, looked very pale at the moment.

“Harry,” this time it was Sirius talking. “We sat down and talked about it for long hours and the more we talked the more we found out other horrible things that all pointed out at the same person. The one person that was capable of doing all of this and get away with it… we weren’t sure at first, we didn’t even want to believe it but then we just ran those tests on you and Harry, you had a heavy block on your magical core one that prevented you from using half of your own magical capabilities and blocked you from your family magic too, you also had a tracking charm and a charm that made you more reckless and trusting towards the caster…”

The younger boy was looking at his godfather with a betrayed look on his face, because the only person who was powerful enough to do this, who had access to Sirius, Remus and Harry at all times and who was smart enough to do this was none other than…..

Albus Dumbledore, the man whom Harry trusted the most.

Sirius and Remus had much more things to say, they all knew it but after the last revelation they all just cuddled on the couch. Sirius was gently running his fingers in Harry’s hair as the boy in his arms looked at the distance, eyes unfocused.

Harry was grieving, Sirius knew it because he went through it twelve years ago. He too grieved the headmaster that he once knew, the man who offered the marauders advice and helped them through their sorrow during the first war. The moment James and Lily Potter died and Sirius was thrown into Azkaban without a trial both Remus and Sirius stopped believing in the old man.

For Harry however it was a harder thing to do. Because Dumbledore was his Savior, his mentor and a parental figure when Sirius and Remus weren’t there, and perhaps that’s what the Headmaster wanted; Sirius in Azkaban and Remus drowned in grief. No one there for poor little Harry Potter that grew up unwanted and unloved until great Albus Dumbledore came to rescue him.

Harry closed his eyes, trying to stop the tears that were threatening to fall. The more he thought about it the more it made sense; Harry Potter, ready to sacrifice himself for the greater good as soon as it was asked of him. The boy was a few weeks shy from fifteen yet has just experienced the worst sort of betrayal from the man who was supposed to protect him. It was truly unfair.

“I want to train.” Said Harry after a few moments.

“What.” Asked a stunned Remus.

“All of this basically means that I cannot trust Dumbledore anymore and that perhaps, I must fight him at some point if he truly wants to use me as a sacrifice. So to sum things up I have a Dark lord who wants to kill me and a powerful headmaster who wants me martyred. I must learn how to fight them.” Harry explained simply.

Sirius and Remus looked at each other for a moment before they turned to Harry with a warm smile on their face. “Well Harry that’s what we were planning to tell you actually, we have been preparing a summer training program for you before you got here.” Remus responded.

“Okay when do we start?” Harry urged, with the blocks now gone Harry was buzzing with magic and his brain was begging for more knowledge.

“Certainly not now.” Sirius cut in. “You just arrived pup, so take it easy. I didn’t even want to tell you all this now but Remus insisted that we do this today, and since it’s done I will give you a house tour, have you settle in your room and catch up all together. Training can wait ‘till tomorrow okay?” Harry looked a bit disappointed but it quickly disappeared as he got to visit the huge house -like seriously how dare they tell him it was just a silly cottage in their letters?- and turns out it had a swimming pool, a huge garden and a fucking mini Quidditch pitch.

“I will teach you how to swim and Padfoot will play Quidditch with you. He definitely doesn’t have your dad’s level nor yours but he sure was one hell of a beater back in our days.” Remus said with a fond look on his face. Harry was surprised by this, he knew his father was a very good chaser in his days, even won his team the Quidditch cup two years in a row but he had no idea that Sirius played too.

“We will tell you more about our Hogwarts years later! For now let’s go see your room!” Sirius shouted as he dragged Harry upstairs. Sirius was so happy to finally have his godson with him that it truly has him acting like a child but no one cared, not with the hell he lived through for twelve years.

“Okay your room is behind this door, but just know that if you don’t like it we can change it however you want it.” Sirius said quickly as he held the door handle tightly, his nerves showing quite clearly.

“Okay Sirius.” Harry responded loudly, he was too excited at this point.

The door was open and Harry gasped as he walked; The room was three times the size of Dudley’s room, the walls were painted in a very muted red with little stars painted in gold. The bed was king sized with silver curtains around it and a huge wooden desk sat right beside it, it was already equipped with quills and parchments, as well as a little library filled with books.

“So… Do you like it cub?” Remus said behind Harry with a very nervous looking Sirius at his side.

“Like? Moony I love it!” Harry responded as he turned around and hugged his guardians fiercely. “Thank you… it more than I could ever wish for.”

Sirius looked on the verge of tears. “Oh of course, you are welcome pup.”

“Come on, let's get you settled and then head downstairs to chat.” Remus declared and Harry grinned.

This was going to be one hell of a summer!
