Regulus Black was never one to fall in love. The one time he did, it ended with him absolutely despising roses. That was until his junior year in high school when he realized just how attractive his brother's best friend actually was.
After graduation, Regulus became a model, and his older brother, Sirius, had formed a band with his best friends, including James Potter. The same James Potter that Regulus had fallen in love with when he was sixteen and James was seventeen, if only Regulus had spoken up before Lily Evans did.
Luckily for Regulus, Lily and James broke up after they graduated, and when Regulus graduated himself, James reached out to him and asked to hang out. Now Regulus is twenty-three and James is twenty-four, the two of them have been dating for two years, they got together after being friends for a few years.
Regulus was sitting in his apartment watching whatever his roommate, Evan, was watching before he left when he heard a knock on the door.
"Who's there?" Regulus groaned, reaching for the remote to pause the T.V.
"Reg? Er- can you let me in? Barty lost his key, so I lent him mine." The person at the door said.
"Cas?"
"Yeah."
"Alright, give me a minute."
Regulus got off the couch, walked to the door, and opened it to let Dorcas in. Then, he sat back on the couch and unpaused the T.V.
"Did Marls leave?" Dorcas asked after looking in her bedroom.
"Yeah, about an hour after you did. What'd you expect? She doesn't live here." Regulus replied.
"Jesus, what's up with you today."
"Hungover."
"I see, long night?"
"Definitely."
"James there?"
"Yeah- What? Why does that matter?"
"Oh, no reason." Dorcas said, handing Regulus a cup of tea.
"Okay... Thanks, Cas." Regulus said, accepting the tea and drinking it.
Dorcas looked at the T.V. then back at Regulus, then back at the T.V.
"The hell are you watching?" She said, still looking back and forth between Regulus and the screen.
"Huh? Mean Girls, apparently. Is there a problem with that?"
"No, just... why are you of all people watching Mean Girls?"
"It was on when Evan left, I expect he and Barty were watching it."
"Makes sense. Well, I'm gonna go, I've got a photoshoot at three. You'd better sober up best you can because you've got one at six."
"You just got back, and you're leaving already?"
"Sorry, Reg, I'm a busy lady." Dorcas said, re-opening the door and leaving.
Regulus shut off the T.V. and went to his room to try and sleep off his hangover. He'd been to one of his brother's concerts last night. He'd never tell Sirius this, but he was actually really proud of him. He also happened to be dating the lead singer in the band, which also happened to be Sirius' best friend.
Regulus remembered one of the guys at the bar after the concert. He was flirting with basically everyone, but something about the way he looked at James had made Regulus want to kill him, James clearly wasn't flirting back and was just being nice, and it's not like anyone actually knew about their relationship, but still, Regulus hated it.
Regulus put it out of his mind and set an alarm in case he actually fell asleep, then laid down on his bed and stared ceiling, contemplating whether or not he should move out of his current apartment which he shared with Evan, Barty, Dorcas, and Pandora. It was a three bedroom apartment and he knew that Dorcas didn't like sharing a room very much, considering the fact that Lily was over almost every other night so Dorcas slept on the couch most if the time. If he moved out, Dorcas wouldn't have to worry, and he cares about his friends. Besides, it was a little awkward living with Barty even though they had dated years ago. It wasn't like it they broke up two months ago or something.

Regulus grabbed his phone off the bedside table and saw a message from a number he recognized, but it wasn't saved in his phone.
Unsaved contact
[I saw you last night at my concert]
[You really miss your big bro that much?]
It was from Sirius.
