Happy birthday!
I’m Regulus Black, the French prince. My father died a few months ago in an accident, my brother, Sirius will be the next king. Or at least he would’ve been. Today would be his coronation, but he had a fight with mom a few days ago.
- You’re an ungrateful piece of shit, Sirius! – my mother shouted.
- What should I be grateful for? Ever since I was a kid you abused me! – Sirius shouted back.
- Get out of my house! You’re no longer my son! – I went to Sirius’ room to see what’s happening. He was in bed, his clothes were all over the floor, in his bed there was a boy. A servant. Oh gosh! Our parents were always homophobic and now she found him in bed with a servant boy.
- Fine! I don’t need any of thi…- he stopped when he saw me standing in the door. I was scared. Sirius is the only one I had. – Regulus…
- Regulus, leave us alone! – mother said.
- O-of course. – I said. I gave a last scared look to Sirius, but he just smiled back. It was like he said ’It’s gonna be okay’. I wish it would be.
- I don’t need this life. I gladly leave. – Sirius said.
- You better be out of here by tommorow morning or I’ll kill you, you understand? – mother said.
- Yes, Ma’am. – Sirius said. I ran upstairs so mom wouldn’t see me,but after she left I went back.
- I can’t believe you did this for me. – the boy said.
- I’d do anything for you. And this wasn’t just for you, it was for me too. I can’t live like this. I just wanna be with you. – Sirius explained.
Now that he left I am the king. The coronation will be next week. Mother rushes this too much. She doesn’t want me to back off. I was sitting in my room, reading when somebody knocked on my door.
- His Majesty, somebody wants to speak with you. – he said.
- Who is it? – I asked.
- The British prince. – he answered.
- Let him in. – I said.
A moment later a boy walked in. He did not look like a prince, not at all. His shirt was half unbuttoned and the only thing I could think of was the unbutton the rest of the shirt. He was tall and his muscles were showing off under his shirt. He had messy, brown hair and brown eyes. He was hot, really hot.
- Hello! – he said.
- What are you doing here? – I asked not looking up from my book. Our parents are enemies. I was raised to hate him.
- I see you don’t really wanna talk, so I’ll keep it short. Sirius sent me. – he said.
- Why didn’t he come? – I asked.
- He can’t, you know that. – he said.
- What does he want? – I asked.
He handed me a small piece of paper.
’Meet me at our secret spot tommorow 6 pm. Come alone.
- Sirius’
- Thank you. Now can I ask you to leave? – I said.
- You can ask, but I won’t say I will. – he said.
- What do you want? – I asked.
- I know you don’t like me and I hate when people don’t like me. – he said.
- This will make me hate you even more if you don’t leave. – I said. He stepped closer. He was standing next to my bed.
- Look at me when your talking to me. – he said while getting the book out of my hands. – Deeper than the ocean, I never heard of it.
- Clearly. – I said. – Now give me back my book.
- It’s like every day that I wake up,
I wish I was waking up from this chaos,
It’s like every day is a nightmare that I just can’t seem to escape,
It’s like you were just here last week,
But now there’s no where to find you,
I shut my eyes and search for you in my head,
I shut my lights, hoping I’ll see you in the dark,
And when I’m breaking down, I search for you through my tears,
I will search for you forever,
Through my tears,
Through the dark,
And I through this scary place called my head,
I will feel you. – he read. – Damn this is deep.
- Give that back! – I stood up.
He was so close to me... The book was still in his hands. I looked up at him and he look down at me I could see his eyes wandering from my eyes to my lips. I want to kiss him right now, but I can’t.
- Give…it…back – I said. These were the only words in my mind. It’s so strange that we just met and he already drives me crazy.
- Here. – he handed me the book. – I have to go now. I’ll see you later.
- I hope not. – I said, but my heart, oh my heart would’ve said something else. Something I would regret so much.
I went down for breakfast. My mom was there too.
- What was he doing here? - she asked.
- Who? – I asked.
- Do you really think I’m that dumb. What was Potter doing here? – she asked.
- I have no idea. – I said.
- Yeah? ’Cause I saw him comming out from your room. – she said. Oh shit!
- Business. – I said.
- What business? – she asked.
- Why does it matter? I’m the king. – I said.
- And I am your fucking mother so you better answer me. – she slapped me.
- You have nothing to do with it. This is my business. – I said. She slapped me again.
- Tell me or this will end badly. – she said.
- Why do you care? – I asked.
- Because I’m your mother. – at this point she was shouting.
- And I am the king. – I said. She took a knife from the table and cut my arm.
- I’m sorry, okay? I’m sorry. He wanted to make peace between the kingdoms, but I didn’t agree. – I lied.
- Good. – she said.
After I ate I went back to my bedroom. My arm was still bleeding. I stopped the bleeding with my shirt and l layed back down on my bed and continued reading. I had a lot of things to do because of the coronation, but all I could think about was Sirius. It was a long day. Long two days to be exact. It’s 6.05, where is Sirius? He should be here.
- Happy birthday! – he said. Yes, it is my birthday. And he remembered…
- You’re late. – I said.
- I had a little trouble with your present. – he said. He bought me a present… He bought me a present.
- There you go, open it! – he handed me the box. When I opened it I saw a book. A book I wanted since I was a little kid.
- Tha- thank you! – I said.
- You’re welcome! I’m sorry for leaving, but I had to. I had no cho…- he said.
- I know… - I interrupted him.
He told me how he met James the morning he left and how he moved to his house with Remus. Remus, that’s his boyfriend, the one mom caught him in bed with. Time flew fast, Sirius talked, I listened. He seems even happier. At least one of us is happy. I miss him. I miss how he used to sing and how the whole city could here his laugh after one of his pranks. He is a really good person, there’s light in him. The light our parents killed from me. He still has it. He’s still childish, he can still laugh. I wish I could be more like him. After about an hour I went back home and layed down in my bed.
- Happy birthday! – a boy shouted from the window. Barty Crouch, my best friend, my brother.
After him another boy climbed in through the window. Evan Rosier, my oldest friend.
- You didn’t think we’d miss your birthday, did you? – Evan asked.
- Just because you’re the king, doesn’t mean you can’t party. – Barty said.
- I never liked parties, you know that. – I said.
- C’mon, it’s your 17th birthday, you can’t sit in your room all night. – Barty said.
- And we throw you a huge birthday party so c’mon, come with us! – Evan said.
- Fine. – I gave in.
Barty climbed down, then Evan followed him. I’ve never sneaked out before, this is crazy.
- You okay, man? – Evan asked when he saw me grab my ankle.
- No, I think I broke my leg. – I said.
- Don’t be so dramatic all the time. – Barty said.
- Where are we going? – I asked.
- Surprise. – Barty said.
- I hate you, Crouch. – I said.
- Aw, I love you too. – he said. I just rolled my eyes, but he could see me trying to hide a smile.
- Can you at least tell be how long will be there? I have stuff to do – I said.
- The night is long, Regulus. We have plenty of time. Don’t stress! – Evan said.
- Evan is right. The party starts at 9 so we’re going to my place first. – Barty said.
- Why? – I asked.
- You can’t come in this, you need something else, something better, something hotter, something that makes all the girls fall for you. – Barty expained.
- I’m not into girls, you know that. – I said.
- Oh, yeah, right. Then something that makes all the boys fall for you. – Barty corrected himself.
- You two should move, we’re never gonna get ready if you just stand here. – Evan said.
When we got to Barty’s we went to his room. He opened his wardrobe. It was huge.
- You have more clothes than a girl. – Evan said.
- I have to look hot, love. It’s not easy. – Barty said.
- I’m sure you’d look hotter without clothes, but you know. – Evan said. Barty started blushing. Wait, BARTY CROUCH STARTED BLUSHING? Barty always flirts with everyone, it’s not a surprise, but he never blushes.
- You can flirt later, we have to get ready now. – I said.
- Who’s gonna be there? – I asked while Barty quickly looked through his clothes.
- Just some rich guys and girl. I think your brother and his friend are gonna be there too. – Evan said.
- Remus? – I asked.
- No, Potter. – Barty said. – This is it. I found the perfect shirt for you. – he took out a black shirt. Barty knows me well, this is exacly my style. – This should be perfect with it. – he took out black jeans. – Try them on!
I went tot he bathroom and changed. I looked in the mirror, my rings looked real good with this outfit. But I have to do something with my hair.
- Show us! – Evan said.
I came out of the bathroom. Barty walked to me. He unbuttoned the first few buttons on my shirt.
- So much better – he said.
- You look good – Evan said.
- But my hair can’t stay like this, this is horrible. – I said. Barty and Eva looked at each other. – What?
- Since when do you care about your looks? – Evan asked.
- Is it really the most important thing now? – I asked. – Just fix my hair!
Barty should be a stylist, these clothes, my hair, these earrings, they are perfect. They changed too and a minute later we were there. The house wasn’t too big, but it didn’t really bother me. A few people were already there when we arrived. I don’t really party, this is the second party I went to. I’m a little nervous. Maybe because James is going to be here. I know he will show up in the hottest shirt I’ve ever seen. If he’ll be even hotter than yesterday I’m gonna pass out. Evan sat down ont he couch. Barty layed down with his head in Evan’s lap and a drink in his hand. A few minutes later my brother and James walked in. I was right. I’ve never seen somebody look this good in my entire life.
- 100 dollars they will hook up by the end of the month. – Evan wispered to Barty.
- Deal.
