Jiyeong blinked, and suddenly she stood atop a land of sand with the shores softly waving, the sky blue and the scenery amazing. They were in Jeju Island, honestly, seeing it face-to-face is much more better than she thought. "Busy gawking at the view?" She heard someone say from behind, Jiyeong turned around. Seeing Saebyeok holding two drinks, one with lime and the other with lemon. They looked so good-Jiyeong wanted to immediately suck it all up in a second. But she remained still. "Its quite beautiful in here, Kang Saebyeok." She muttered under her breath as she felt the wind crash onto her like a tight embrace.
The island itself was amazing, there was food, drinks, and specifically. A room for them to stay in, Jiyeong strolled around the sand, chasing the waves with her as she threw her arms wide. Saebyeok only wanted in admiration. "Lets drink the mojitos first before we swim, Jiyeong." She softly hummed, running after the shorter one to catch up.
They were now chasing each other, smiles spread wide and eyes glistening in euphoria, Jiyeong had never felt so alive before. She had nothing, but now had everything. And it was right behind her, playfully chasing her down. "Hey! Get back here!" Saebyeok yelled in a sarcastic dramatic tone, Jiyeong intentionally slowed down just so the taller one could catch up, and then-
poof.
Saebyeok wrapped her arms around Jiyeong as they laid in the sand, chuckling and giggling. "For a small individual your pretty fast." She chalantly mentioned, hovering her arm over her forehead as she stared off the clouds in the sky, matching with the firmament. "Your just slow, Saebyeok."
"Oh really?"
"Obvi, you were so slow i had to purposely slow myself down just for you to catch up."
"..Rude."
And there a constant pack of laughter heard from Jiyeong, Saebyeok could do nothing but gaze at the way Jiyeong grinned, not for her to be corny. But it was so bright, such an effervescent grin. The way her eyes squint as she giggled, it all felt like an inner warmth to Saebyeok-and oh it was so, so, comforting. She shuffled closer to Jiyeong. their shoulders making contact.
Jiyeong continued to laugh a bit more, not until she felt a soft pair of lips press gently against her cheek. "Eh?" She immediately dropped her smile, now red in shock. Saebyeok only looked at her awkwardly, now kind of regreting what she had done. "O-oh- sorry. I shouldnt have-" She tried to apologize, and before she knew it- Jiyeong had pressed her lips ontop of Saebyeoks. They smiled against each other, deepening the tender contact. Until they had to let go to take some breaths, and it felt so nice, so sweet. Jiyeong tasted like chocolate, it fit the color of her hair.
"I love you, Jiyeong." She murmured.
"I love you too, Kang Saebyeok."
She felt her stomach twist into comforting seizures, she never felt this before. But shes just glad Jiyeong was with her.
They were now sitting on the beach chairs, holding their mojitos. Saebyeok was about to take a sip, when Jiyeong stopped her. "Lets clink our glasses and thank that were in Jeju Islaaandd!!" She beckoned the taller one to clink their mojitos together, and so she obliged. They giggled, finally laying deeper into the chair in relaxation. "Ahh, im really happy. Saebyeok, this feels like a girls beach vacation!" Saebyeok felt warm at that. "Yeah.."
Jiyeong smiled, taking a sip of her mojito.
...Wait.
Why did this taste like blood?
"Is it just me or the mojito tastes like blood?" Jiyeong mentions, examining the glass seeking for hints just for the sake to find out the cause of why it tasted like blotchered blood. Saebyeok peeked over with the same curiousity, paying attention to the drink. "But mine didnt taste like blood?"
"Huh..how do you even make a mojito taste like blood?? Thats silly." She chuckled, sensing Saebyeok holding back a giggle too. Eventually, she let it slip, now laughing together in humor.
Jiyeong wished that happened.
She really wished that happened.
They could be laughing together in an island, somewhere where they can talk and have fun. They could be finding love together, they could get to know each other properly. Jiyeong smiled, still tasting the blood in her tongue as she bleeds out, feeling the artificial sand coat the edge of her hair. Her head was burning, probably from the shot that had erupted from the gun positioned straight to her head.
Sacraficing for someone she had loved was an honoring way to die, she couldnt put it in words. Honestly, the whole jeju island thing was all planned due to her stupid delusions. She couldnt even speak, due to the blood lingering in her tongue. It tasted terrible. But dying for someone? Thats one way to go. She had nothing, so she made Saebyeok her everything. Even if it isnt much, Jiyeong wants her to live. To get out of this hellhole and be happy. Jiyeong wanted to be the reason Saebyeok lived-that was her goal from the moment they shook hands. Even though they only knew each other for a short time, Saebyeok was the only person she relied on.
When she blacked out, her smile was still plastered on her face sincerely, genuine, luminous, and happy. She felt happy, imagining her only happiness one last time before dying. Nothing, but everything.
