It disturbs Harry how much he's missed.
He's only been away a couple of years, and yet everything has seemingly changed, and at the heart of it his Childhood Nemesis sits pretty as if he isn't at fault. As if things weren't abnormal because of his presence.

He's made himself important in their lives. He's not replaced him so much as been adopted by them. Hermione gushes about how proud she is of his charity work, Ron brags about how he now has a worthwhile Chess opponent, and Molly has new clock hands for him (and Teddy).

That's the biggest kick in the teeth. Teddy. Harry watches as the clock hands on the burrow wall move from School to home knowing that his precious Godson will be at the Manor- that he'll have eyes of grey and silky blonde hair- the colours of his hero, his cousin-turned-parent Draco sodding Malfoy. That Malfoy would then lovingly prepare them a meal he'd learnt off Molly. He was HIS Godson dammit! And she was HIS adopted mother!

-----

Harry's sulking again. He knows it's childish and that he's holding onto grudges he hasn't believed in since the war. He testified at Malfoy's trial for gods sake! He's using silly words again like nemesis- words that even at the time when Malfoy was at his worst Molly disapproved of. Voldemort was meant to have been his Nemesis if anything! But he can't help feeling angry and upset about it all.

Logic has gone out the window. He distantly understands that Draco has changed and that he stepped up in a way that nobody was exspecting him to when Andromeda suddenly passed and Harry was uncontactable Logically he knows he has no reason to complain and should be in fact praising Malfoy with the rest of them. The thought makes him feel physically sick though.

-------
Malfoy calls him Edward. Its wrong. They've always called him Teddy. It doesnt matter that its his legal name Malfoy shouldn't confuse him so.

Not that he seems confused.
He in fact flushes with pride every time Malfoy addresses him so. It makes Teddy feel older- more grown up.

Teddy only wears the finest clothes. Exclusively muggle, Harry notices but worth a absolute fortune. Malfoy doesn't blink when Teddy gets covered in mud or his clothes tear as he rushes around the Burrow grounds. He smiles indulgently and declared that he had no desire to stifle Teddy's childhood like his father had done to him. When Harry mentions the cost of the clothes Malfoy's eyes flicker almost unnoticibaly to Ron for a split second before he answered "kids can be cruel" not explaining himself further. His voice was filled self-deprication but Harry refused to process that.

To Harry Malfoy was simply buying Teddy's love. Raising him to be spoilt and arrogant like Malfoy himself. Nevermind that Teddy was still the sweetest little boy in the world. That Malfoy went above and beyond to let Teddy know how loved he was.
---------
When Teddy visits him with a nose still red from a recent epsiky he proudly tells Harry about how he fed one of the Manors prized Peacocks (Bertie) and fell over afterwards trying to ride him. Harry spends the week telling everyone that Malfoy is obviously unfit to care for Teddy. He ends up dreadfully frustrated and embarrassed. Nobody wants to know- they instead berate Harry for his 'disgusting attitude towards a loving single parent'.

Single parent pah! Teddy had parents! Parents that died in the war fighting the likes of Malfoy and his kind. Harry was sure they'd be turning in their graves knowing that a Malfoy was raising their child.
----

Malfoy was handsome.
Harry was sure he was being so on purpose. Wearing those sinfully tight trousers and form fitting tops to tempt and distract him. To make Harry loose his mind and do and say things he shouldn't. To make Harry forget why he hated him.

Harry does just that one day. He forgets himself entirely and asks Malfoy out for a drink- a date. Malfoy tells him gently that his priority is Teddy- that as his Guardian he needs to put Teddy's needs first and not confuse him. That he couldn't take the risk of dating someone and it not working out. Harry is hurt and confused. He's convinced Malfoy manipulated him into asking him out just to humiliate him- Although there was no one around to witness it.

He tells Hermione his thoughts on the matter, only for her to shout at him- telling Harry that he's already proved Draco right and that Harry should grow up and stop acting like a child.
-----
Harry decided he will act like a grown up
Starting with taking his responsibility for his Godson's care. He was picked by Lupin and Tonks for the job after all and he is after all the saviour of the Wizarding World.

He never exspected to loose.
