Chapter 1
“So.” Buck draws out, taking another swig from the bottle of tequila. They had started with beers when he showed up at Eddie’s, the two sitting in silence for a long time while they drank. “Why don’t you have any pants on?” He asked his best friend who was sitting next to him wearing a button-down shirt, socks and he was in his underwear. He was confused and also, he could not stop looking at the man’s legs. He couldn’t help himself. If it was just his general attraction to the man or the alcohol coursing through his veins he doesn’t know.
Humming softly, Eddie shrugs his shoulders and takes the bottle of tequila from Buck, taking a swig as well. “I was finding joy.” He says simply, looking over at his best friend who tilted his head in confusion. “A priest told me to find joy, so I did risky business.” He tells him and Buck just looks even more confused. “Buck.” Eddie trails off. “Don’t tell me you’ve never seen risky business.”
“Okay, I won’t then.” Buck says, looking away from Eddie when the man looks at him like he grew two heads.
“You lived under a rock, I swear.” Eddie mutters and takes yet another drink from the bottle before handing it back to Buck.
Eventually the whole bottle of tequila is gone, and they are pretty drunk, Eddie goes to the kitchen to find something else to drink while Buck insisted that they were drunk enough. When Eddie shows up empty-handed, he sighs and plops himself back down on the couch. “Now what do we do.” He practically whines, throwing his head back against the couch.
“I dunno.” Buck hums, shrugging his shoulders. “What do you want to do Eds?” And wasn’t that a loaded question.
There were a lot of things that popped into Eddie’s mind. “Kiss me.” He blurts out, cheeks flushing pink as Buck’s eyes widened. He never would have said that if he was sober, hell he wasn’t even out to Buck yet. “Unless you don’t want to.”
“No- I” Buck stumbles over his words, clearing his throat. His cheeks flushing pink as well. “I want to.” He murmurs. “Are you sure you want me to.”
“Just kiss me damn it.” Eddie huffs out, practically pouting as he waited for his best friend to slide closer to him on the couch.
Buck reached over and cupped the man’s cheek, leaning in to press their lips together and closes his eyes. Eddie instantly moves his lips against Buck’s, kissing him with a purpose. He’d wanted this for a long time now, he just didn’t think he could have it. If they were sober, they wouldn’t be doing this, they’d be sitting on the couch watching some documentary that Buck had found earlier in the week.
Eddie hums against his lips and moves, practically climbing into Buck’s lap, the other man wrapping his arms around Eddie’s waist as the kiss gets deeper, more heated. They stay like that for a few minutes before they pull apart, coming up for air.
“I don’t want you to leave.” Buck tells him, resting their foreheads together. He could smell the tequila and beer on Eddie’s breath.
Eddie gives a small frown. “I know, but I have to. I need to be there for Chris.”
“I know.” Buck says sadly, reaching up to caress the man’s cheek. “I’m going to miss you.”
“I’ll miss you too.” Eddie tells him, looking at him in the eyes. “You have to promise me that whatever happens tonight won’t change anything.”
“I promise.” Buck says and Eddie presses their lips back together, the kiss more heated than before.
Eddie had no idea what came over him when he pulled away from Buck for the second time and unbuttoned his own shirt, sliding it off and throwing it on the floor. He leaves for El Paso in a few days, and he was seeking joy, he figured this was the best way to do it.
“Eds.” Buck breathes out, eyes fixed on the other man’s chest, chuckling when Eddie tugs at his shirt, mumbling what sounded like ‘off’. And who was Buck to deny Eddie anything. He slid his shirt off and tossed it somewhere on the floor. “Better?”
“Much.” Eddie started to slur his words. His hands were on Buck’s chest in an instant, leaning forward to press kisses to Buck’s neck, biting and sucking, surely leaving a mark that would show up tomorrow.
Buck groans, closing his eyes. His hand comes up to Eddie’s hair and tugs lightly, making the other man moan into his neck. “Buck.” Eddie whimpers, pulling back from his neck. “Fuck me.”
Buck’s eyes nearly bulged out of his head at that but he nodded his head quickly, hands moving to hold Eddie’s thighs as he stands up, carrying the other man to Eddie’s bedroom. As soon as Eddie’s on the bed he crawls over to his bedside table and opens the drawer, pulling out a bottle of lube, tossing it onto the bed. “Don’t need a condom, I’m clean.” Eddie tells him.
“Me too. Tommy always used condoms.” And that was the wrong thing to say because Eddie narrowed his eyes at him.
“Do not speak that man’s name in my bedroom.” He mumbles, making Buck laugh softly.
“Sorry.” He apologizes, kneeling down on the bed next to Eddie and pulling the mans underwear down his legs. Eddie was just in socks and Buck’s breath hitched in his throat. He was beautiful.
---
“Fuck.” Eddie pants, laying his head against Buck’s chest as the other man laid down next to him, equally breathless. “That felt great. Can’t believe I’ve never done that before.” He chuckles, rubbing a hand over his face.
“I can’t believe I didn’t know you were an option.” Buck hums, pressing a kiss to the top of Eddie’s head. “I just wish you didn’t have to go to El Paso. I wish Chris would just come back and we could all be a family again.”
“We’re still a family Buck. And who knows, Chris and I might be back. I just need to get him to talk to me and if he tells me he wants to come back to LA we will. And if he wants to stay in El Paso then that’s what I’ll have to do.” Eddie sighs heavily, not moving his head from Buck’s chest. “You can always come visit.”
“I know.” That is all Buck says before sighing and running a hand through Eddie’s hair. “Come on, lets get cleaned up.” He says before helping Eddie up and leading them both to the bathroom.
Eddie knows it was a mistake, that they shouldn’t have made this decision while they were under the influence of alcohol, that they shouldn’t have made the decision just days before Eddie was supposed to leave for El Paso, but he couldn’t regret it. Not when it was one of the best things to happen to him.
