Sirius was sitting by the Gryffindor dining table. All for of them were eating breakfast. Or well, Remus inhaled it, the rest of them ate. Crumbs of sugary grains had stuck to his lips.
“James, do you wan’t to kiss?” Sirius asked casually, digging into his delicious toast.
James startled and looked at him in shock.
“I like you too Sirius don’t get me wrong but i think we’re better of as friends” a wry smile crossed his face.
“No just as practise of course. Before we do the real thing i mean” he rolled his eyes.
“No. Just find a girl to practice with” James suggested.
“That defeats the whole purpose” he sighed impatiently.
He had actually thought James would accept. If he was going to kiss a girl he didn’t wan’t to make a prat of himself. They were in their fifth year after all, he better be prepared.
“Ask Peter” James shrugged to Peter.
“Absolutely no” Peter spluttered as his neck coloured crimson.
His gaze turned to Remus. It seemed somehow better to practise with Remus than the others. He didn’t know why.
“Are you serious?” Remus asked, quirking a dry eyebrow.
“I am always Sirius” he grinned. All of the others groaned, the pun had been so over used.
Remus just shook his head as he continued eating.
But Sirius idea would not be quashed. It seemed oddly thrilling to have Remus lips so close to his. He tried to surprise him with it. Sirius hid behind doorways only to jump out and call “snog?”. Remus rolled his eyes every time though a heat eminated from his cheeks.
One time in potions class he hd whispered in his ear “give me a snog Moony”. Remus had jumped, turning scarlet. The vial of dragon’s blood he was pouring delicately slipped, the entire content spilling into the cauldron. It had exploded, soot dusting their tables. Ash coated James glasses who had worked with Peter on the table next to them.
Slughorn, had assumed the four of them had something to do with it and gave them all detention.
“Please just drop it! I’ve got loads of homework!” Peter had whinged. He paid him no mind. He rarely did.
It was the afternoon of the full moon. James and Peter served a detention leaving them alone in their dorm room. Remus was pacing restlessly. Sirius could practically see his skin crawl.
“Fancy a snog?” Sirius arched a brow. Remus just stared at him, dead pan. Instead he tried to distract him with ramblings of random things. He was always so on edge the days before the moon. His mood was close to the surface, the wolf looming out of sight.
He talked for quite some time yet it did nothing to calm him.
“Should i turn into Padfoot?” Sirius suggested.
“No thank you” Remus continued his frantic pacing. He cast glances out of the window where only one tiny sliver was missing of the moon.
Worry was beginning to form in his stomach. It always hurt to see Remus so uptight before a moon. He said he didn’t worry but Sirius thought that might be a lie.
Sirius continued to blabber. Hoping to stop the pacing driving him insane.
“Alright fine i’ll do it!” Remus exploded suddenly, cutting him off mid sentence.
He didn’t even have a chance to think about what he was talking about. In two swift stries he had reached him. His eyes burning in their intensity. He didn’t have the time to even open his mouth to speak before he was on him.
Remus lips were pressed to his and he immediately opened his mouth. At first it was all teeth. Their noses bumping together. Then it became wonderful. Butterflies exploded in his stomach.
Remus tasted of autumn rain and sweetness. His warm breath filled his mouth. Their tounges intertwined.
He could feel Remus heat pressed against his skin. Lights were popping in his head. Wires circuiting. Everything in him was screaming “yes” at the same time. An heat was growing in his stomach. Remus deepened the kiss further dragging a moan from him. His hand was dragging through his hair the other around his neck. Remus fingers were hot against his skin. He was always so warm. As hot as the Gryffindor fire. As hot as the sun.
He ran his finger over the outline of his chest, feeling every muscle. Remus shivered. He threw them around his neck, pulling his fingers through his hair. It was so soft. The curls were tangled in his fingers. Remus ran a finger over his jaw. Goosebumps rose along his arms. Shivers if contentment running through him. He could do that all day. Never stop. He wanted the kiss to last forever.
Remus was ever so insistent, desperate even. Sirius had never kissed anyone before but he still reckoned Remus must’ve been an exceptional kisser. But all that they did was of course platonic. It was totally normal to want more, want everything, from your best friend. Natural that he wanted Remus body even closer to his.
Someone cleared their throats and they broke apart. Immediately he missed Remus closeness. His neck had turned the colour of Evans hair.
James and Peter stood in the doorway, looking traumatised. Their mouths were hanging open, their eyes wide.
“What the bloody hell” Peter breathed.
“Remus agreed to practise with me” Sirius smiled brazenly.
“That didn’t look like practice though” James wiggled his eyebrows.
Remus rubbed his neck sheepishly. Pink patches were still visible on his cheeks.
“It looked like you were eating each others faces” Peter wrinkled his nose in disgust.
The beginnings of anger were already forming. What would Peter know? He had never snogged someone and he never would.
Still he oddly longed for another kiss. But it had just been for practise after all. Why was he feeling so stirred up? Remus was just a friend. Or was he?
