Then all of a sudden, you're sick to your stomach
Harry just got done arguing with Draco. They decided to start meeting up in secret. They shared secrets. Draco doesn't want to be what he is, but he doesn't have a choice. They know the closer the end of the year gets, the closer they'll come to being over. They both chose their paths. It doesn't stop the pain from within.
The war is brewing and neither of them can catch it. They'll always be a tragic love story. But what they have now? He'll cherish forever. He'll probably marry Ginny in the future. They both know this. They both chose their paths, and it stings. The love they carry now, they'll make sure to cherish.
The I love you's, the kisses, marks of love, and everything they can keep to them. The world won't ever know what they've shared. Just like the book he found in his dad's old stuff. With a young bloke he had in secret. Funny how time repeats.
Wiping his tears, he looks up at the moon. It's a full moon, Remus is out there as a wolf right about now. He wonders if Remus had to support his dad through Regulus. Just like Hermione does Harry through Draco. They're both the wisest ones in the groups of friends.
Sighing, Harry sits at the window. Ron, Neville, Dean, and Seamus are sleeping peacefully right now. He draws little hearts around something Draco gave him. They're waiting for the final blow. Draco says the night the breakup might as well be the night the school knows he's a death eater. They're in a common agreement, that when they find out, they're automatically over. No words will be said.
…
James is sitting at the whomping willow. Waiting for his friends. Him and Regulus just fought. Again. Their relationship will be ending soon. When he decided to try and make Regulus his friend, it cost him a relationship with Lily. But then he started dating Regulus. His family is the reason their relationship will end. They both know James is more likely to marry Lily. Does it break their hearts? Yes, a lot.
They'll always have a tragic love story, no doubt. Especially with the war brewing on. What they have now? Will forever be cherished. They chose their paths. They know it'll forever hurt. But they will forever cherish it.
Their kisses, the I love you's, the marks and anything they could ever do. Forever a tragic story. Wiping away tears, he hears Sirius and Peter coming. With a fake smile he wears nowadays he greets them. They're going to spend this night running around the forest with Moony. Like their friend group, Moony, Padfoot, Prongs, and Wormtail. He knows tomorrow night Remus will be holding him through his tears.
Regulus and James have an agreement. When the ending of seventh year comes, and Regulus is a known death eater, their relationship is over with no words spoken. The agreement will be that way if they can't ever come to a time to finally call it quits. They probably won't, knowing it'll hurt way more.
…
Harry is sitting by the fireplace. Him and Draco broke up a few weeks ago. School ends in a few weeks. Ginny drops down by Harry, laying her head on his shoulder. "I love Luna. I love her a lot. I know anything can happen within the next few years. I'm scared."
Harry stares at the wall in front of him, "We're all scared. We're all afraid of losing the one we love." I already lost mine, Harry doesn't say. Ginny doesn't speak much more. They turn to face Hermione and Ron, arguing. They tend to fight a lot, refusing to speak of their feelings. Everyone knows it's out of fear.
"They're in love. They refuse to admit the words because they're too real. You think they'll ever get the courage?" Ginny asks, generally. It's all a what if nowadays. Admitting things makes them real, and it's terrifying to do so in war. It makes things even more real. And it keeps everyone so much more afraid.
"I don't know. It's all a matter of whether they ever get together before the school year ends. Anything can happen, so they're terrified. Saying the words makes everything so much more real." He replies, watching their friends argue. Hermione doesn't want to admit to things and wants to hide, but Ron wants her not to shut herself down.
"She's scared and wants to hide. He's terrified and wants there to be comfort within them." And it's the truth. Ginny sees it just as much as Harry does. All Ginny does is nods.
…
James is sitting on the couch, staring at the fireplace. He's been better. Him and Regulus broke up a month ago. There's a month left of school. He's lost it though until Lily flops down beside him, laying her head on him. "I'm in love with Pandora. I know nothing will come of it. She'll follow Regulus wherever he goes, even if she doesn't get the mark." Lily confesses.
James understands that. Nothing can come of them and the others they love. They'll probably settle with the love they have for one another. Everyone's afraid of love now. Lily and James look over to Remus and Sirius in unison. They’re arguing again. They're afraid.
"Remus is shutting himself down. He's afraid. Sirius isn't handling that well. They've been dating for months, but they won't admit they're in love. Remus wants to hide away from the war, but it hurts him. Sirius wants them to be in love and comfortable, while fighting off the world." James says, staring at the relationship. He knows the pain of arguing with the one you love because of war.
Lily nods, "Maybe one day we won't be afraid anymore. Maybe one day war won't be tearing us apart." Tears falls from her eyes. "Yeah, maybe. We're living off of what ifs." James replies, closing his eyes.
"Saying the words makes it real for them, so they're afraid. They would rather fight than admit they're in love. They're both in peace with loving one another, but not admitting it. It's tearing them apart now." Both Lily and James know this. It's why it hurts. They'll never know if the what ifs will stop.
