A place of limitation, always indicating I can't
If you were to ever look at Harry Potter and his mates, you would see the resemblance to the generation before them. They have such recurring events that make the two generations collide in resemblance. Minerva taught both of them, and watched them both grow.
Luna Lovegood, the daughter of Pandora and Xenophillius Lovegood. She’s a lot like her mother, and it hurts. Pandora was a Lestrange when she attended Hogwarts, who grew up to be a potion master. Pandora was also one of the wisest students, and definitely the most creative one.
Luna is a lot like Severus Tobias Snape as well, when he was just a boy. She gets bullied, pushed around, and mocked. She takes it, but it doesn’t bother her like it did Severus. Luna still loves herself, just like her mother.
Ginevra Molly "Ginny" Weasley, the only daughter and the youngest child of Arthur and Molly Weasley. Ginny represents Lily Jane Potter Nee Evans in her friend group. She comes from a poor background, and fought for her respect. They’re both fierce women who are extremely brave. They both had to work harder to become known, but for two completely different reasons.
Ginny comes from a loving family, but being the only girl made her more trapped. Also being the youngest gave her the leftovers of her brothers. She grew up tomboyish because she wanted to prove a worth to her siblings.
Lily came from a family who were less loving. Her parents showered her and her older sister with love until Lily became a witch. Lily becoming a witch made her sister hate her, because her parents only showed Lily praise.
Neville Longbottom, the son of Frank and Alice Longbottom. Neville is the weak link of his friend group, just like Peter Pettigrew was his. Both boys are easily influenced by those around them. They tried to fight to not be a weakling, but only one succeeded.
Neville fought to prove he wasn’t as weak compared to his friends, while Peter sought out his fear and joined the dark lord. He sold his friend's name out, while Neville hid his. Peter was influenced by the dark, but Neville was influenced by the good.
Hermione Jean Granger, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Granger. She’s the mastermind, smart, and hardest worker of her friend group, just like Remus John Lupin was his. Hermione and Remus both loved studying, and were obsessed with being the top student. They’re the quiet kid who wants to get by in school unnoticed, and with no issues. That didn’t work out for them, because of who their friends were.
They’re the friend who hated breaking the rules at first, but then they became the masterminds of breaking them. They came up with ways not to get caught, ways to avoid teachers and peeves, and ways to go unnoticed. They’re the friends who helped their mates study when everything became too hard. The friend who would protect their friends from anything, no matter the trouble they would get in.
Both Hermione and Remus had a hard time becoming that friend. Remus' reasoning was he didn’t want to get too close to anyone and get hurt when they learned he was a werewolf. He was afraid if he gave his heart away, he’d pay for the damage. Hermione's reasoning was because she had to study harder, and she had to prove her worth for being muggleborn. She was a “stuck-up arse” when she first joined Hogwarts, now she’s the minister of magic.
Ronald Bilius Weasley, the sixth son and child of Arthur and Molly Weasley. Ron is like Sirius, fighting for a place in society. They’re both from pureblood families on opposite sides of the war, fighting for the right thing. Growing up they both had to prove they were something. Ron being the sixth boy, and Sirius being the disowned Black heir.
Sirius had to stay in line, because one mistake was an unforgivable curse. He had to work harder and harder to protect his younger brother. Ron had to prove to his parents he can still do something big, and he wasn’t the black sheep. By the time they were both sixteen, they stopped trying to earn their parents attention.
Sirius ran away, and started anew. Until the death of his best friends, where he got the blame for their murder. All because of a last name. Ron's only interest was keeping his friends safe, and making sure his siblings weren’t dead. Ron was able to finally prove to his parents he was going places, because he was a part of the group who ended Voldemort.
Harry James Potter, the son of James Fleamont Potter and Lily Jane Potter Nee Evans. Harry is exactly like his father. They’re the popular jocks, but Harry's fame also comes from the boy who lived. James had a rivalry with Severus, while Harry had a rivalry with Draco. They both had arrogant and consistent traits.
They both saved people, even when they hated them. When it was life or death, it didn’t matter to them who the person was, just if they survived. They always made sure their homes were open for their friends. James gave his home to Sirius when he ran away, and Harry gave his home to Hermione when she ran away to protect her parents. They’re consistent when it comes to saving people.
Draco Lucius Malfoy, the son of Lucius Abraxas Malfoy and Narcissa Irma Malfoy Nee Black. Draco only wanted to survive, trying to fit this perfect example his father wanted. Just like his cousin Regulus Arcturus Black. They both come from pureblood families, where being the perfect heir was your only job. They were both spoiled snobby boys led by the dark arts until they were sixteen. They didn’t get a choice in joining Voldemort, but they both accepted it happily.
Regulus was a second choice to Voldemort and Draco was a petty choice. They were both acceptable due to their bloodline. Regulus being a Black and the cousin of Bellatrix. Draco couldn't go to a single soul, but he did brag about it in the Slytherin room. He was afraid, but he wouldn't admit it. Regulus only had Pandora to talk to, because his other friends were jealous. They just lost Dorcas too.
When push came to shove, Regulus betrayed Voldemort. He died in the process, but now his story lives on. Draco lied to Voldemort, to give Harry a chance to save the wizarding world. The only thing both boys had hope for was Voldemort to come to an end. Regulus and Draco were the Slytherin hope in a better world, and a better place for them in general.
Two young boys fighting on the wrong side of the war, helping the right side. If Regulus never betrayed Voldemort, wizards would be dead quicker than ever. Regulus is a strong wizard. If Draco never lied to his father and aunt about Harry's identity, their hope in saving the world would be doomed. Their only goal was to survive, but Regulus died while Draco survived.
Minerva sees the first generation she taught die, while the second one lived. She always wanted to see them survive and overthrow Voldemort, while raising kids, but now she can just see their kids and friends grow up without them. She wishes nothing but the best for Harry, Draco, Ginny, Luna, Hermione, Neville, and Ron.
