my baby
Summary
"He's a lovely little baby, Alice." The healer said to her. She locked her eyes on Neville, as the healer sets down the baby towards her. The healer hands Neville to her hands, oh so gently. Her eyes welled up with tears. She was finally seeing his well beloved son ever since she found out about him. She starts to cry as she holds out Neville. "Oh, my baby." She laughs whilst having tears in her eyes as Frank stares at both of them lovingly; as if locking the memory in his mind forever. They both stare at each other as they both shed their tears. Right then and there, they wordlessly promised to keep their baby forever.

Alice was laying in one of the hospital beds at St. Mungo's after just giving birth to her first ever son, Neville. She was tired after many hours of pain, and many dreadful screams.

Frank was beside her, gently caressing her hand. He was whispering gentle praises to her as they both waited for Neville. Frank had a slight peek on what their son would look like as the healers hurried off to clean Neville.

"You were absolutely amazing, darling." Frank ushered close to her, as she was consciously closing her eyes after the tired, yet exhilarating event.

"I can't believe I just gave birth Frank. I have a son," Alice says as she opens her eyes to look at Frank. He was staring at her with his oh so caring smile to remind her that she was not alone in this journey.

"-And you will be the best mother ever given to Neville! How cool is that? We're gonna be parents!" Frank added onto Alice's past line. She only replied with a tired smile. It was nice, knowing she now has a son. She vowed to keep him safe forever, despite the pending war.

While they both were having time basking in each other's presence, the door opens up by one of the healers, who was carrying her son.

Neville walks up to his parents room at St. Mungos, as he visits them again. He was usually accompanied with his grandma, but today he was going by himself. He didn't expect much, as he thought of the visit as another normal visit; staring at them as they mumble words that did not seem as words while staring somewhere other than him, their son. Yet, despite these, he still cares to appreciate them as he could. It was hard for Neville to truly love his mother and father when he never remembers anything from them, except for their lucid state.

"Hi Mum, hi Dad," He says as he enters the room. No response, as he expected. He was met with mumbling and mindless eyes, as he was expecting.Would it be bad that he wished his own parents would look at him? He couldn't bear to, as he knew it wasn't their fault they got cursed.

He sits down at one of the chairs as he stares at them in awe and in sadness. In a couple of minutes, he felt a pair of eyes lock between his. It was her mother. He was shocked for this to happen, as they barely looked at him in his visits, as he vaguely remembers those times, but now here he was, looking at her mother, and her looking back. He starts to well up tears like it was his first time looking at her mother. He hoped it was the same way she looked at him. He hears her mother's mumbling get louder, as he slowly goes near her to decipher her words.

"My baby, my baby, my baby," Oh, did she really say that? Neville wonders as she cups her mother's face, crying his eyes out. My baby, two words, yet it felt like an eternity for Neville.

"Mum, I love you." He exclaims as he one-sidedly hugged her.

"My baby." He sobbed even harder.

"I'm sorry Mum."

"My baby." He holds on to her mother more, shaking as he sobs.

As he coddled her mother, repeatedly muttering two words who meant everything for him, he cherished this moment forever. He may not ever know his parents by themselves other than people telling him that they were lovely people, which he always knew, deep in his heart, he still knows that they loved him. He promises to keep this moment forever.
