Starting something new
I always hate the morning.
I hate the sun shining right in my eyes.
It’s honestly super annoying.
Plus, I have work to do the moment I wake up, no time to stop and try to enjoy the morning.
Not that I would anyways.
Begrudgingly I drag myself out of my bed, throwing the warm blankets a longing stare before going to my kitchen for a coffee and to make a small vlog thanking all my fans for coming to my show last night and to show them what I am up to at the moment.
They love it.
They like to see me in a “normal” setting even though there is no such thing as normal for me.
I’m always being watched, either by fans or by the paparazzi, and the worse of them – even though the paparazzi are an actual pain in my arse – my parents and family.
Expectations from the world follow me wherever I go, I can’t make a single mistake, or it will be plastered all over before I have a chance to even react.
They did that to Andromeda.
She left the lights for a man named Teddy.
Her acting career meant nothing when it came to love, and the tabloids tore her to shreds.
They still hate her for refusing to show her daughter – Nymphadora – to the world. Because in their minds she should also have a life full of fame because of her family name.
Andy doesn’t want that for her daughter, and I know why, it’s stressful and messy and no child should grow up in that atmosphere.
I know some thrive from it, but for a lot of kids it ruins them before they’re even adults.
It’s barely 9 in the morning when I actually go live.
It’s flooded with comments before 9:05.
I do my best to respond to some of the comments, there is a lot of them so of course not everyone gets an answer.
I do that for about 30 minutes before I say goodbye, tell them I hope to see them at the next show and end the live.
I let out a heavy sigh, dragging my hand across my face.
My phone dings with a text. I check and it’s a couple from my brother and… a few from James.
I answer my brother first.
Sirius: Okay so first here’s Lily’s contact.
Sirius: Second, I talked to James, and he was so confused it was actually hilarious, Remus had to testify for me, so he knew I wasn’t lying.
Sirius: He also said that he’s bigger than me so if I tried to fight him in your honor it wouldn’t go well.
Me: I’d pay good money to see you get your arse kicked tbh
Me: And thank you for giving me Lily’s number. Did you tell her why I wanted to get in contact with her?
Sirius: Rude, and yes, I did. She’s thrilled by the prospect. I ask her to model for me and it’s no Sirius I won’t lay down nude for you to paint me and blah blah.
Me: Maybe I’m just better than you?
I laugh to myself for a moment before saving Lily’s number and asking her when she’s free to meet some people.
While I wait for her response, I look at James’s texts.
Mr. football captain: Good morning! Guess what I found out last night?
Mr. football captain: You! You’re my best mates brother?? How didn’t I figure that out?
Mr. football captain: Anyways… Hope you have a good day today; I’ll be at practice so if you do text me it might take me a moment to respond.
Me: Good morning to you as well, and yes, we are brothers. We get told we look alike so maybe it just didn’t register because I am much more attractive than Sirius.
Me: Have a nice practice, it sounds dreadful.
Lily responded quite quick telling me she was free in a few hours if that worked for me. She also asked if she could bring a friend for moral support since her girlfriend would be at practice today with James.
I agreed and sent her the location where to meet me.
Getting ready is one of my preferred things to do, making myself blend in is the hard part. But I always have liked a challenge.
2 hours later I find myself waiting for Lily, it doesn’t take long for her to show up followed by a very pretty girl who I assume is her friend.
“Regulus! Hi! This is Marlene, the friend I mentioned.” She’s a bit out of breath but her smile is very contagious.
Marlene looks shocked, I guess she didn’t believe Lily when she said just who they were meeting. She just stares at me wide eyed, mouth slightly agape.
“Lily, lovely to see you. Hello Marlene, I’d introduce myself, but it seems you know who I am already.” I smile at her, and she shakes her head, as if to clear it.
“It’s… uh it’s lovely to meet you!” She says still looking surprised.
“Well thank you, okay ladies we’re meeting my dear friend Dorcas, I told her about you Lily. She seems very excited so we can’t be late. I think she might actually kill me and for right now I like being alive.” Lily laughs and I make my way in.
I smile at the security guard, showing him id, he looks behind me and gestures to the two behind me with his eyes.
“They’re with me, fresh meat for Dorcas.” He grins and lets us through.
I let myself grin and walk inside, the ladies following close behind.
I stop to look at them and they take the pause to look around in awe.
And why wouldn’t they? Dorcas built her agency from the ground up; she’s made the entire establishment very chic and in the know. She’s the first agency I agreed to work with and now she’s a very dear friend of mine.
This is her very essence and it’s her life.
I admire her for it.
“Okay, we’re going to meet Dorcas in her office prepare yourselves she does introductions… in her way of thorough.” They share a confused look, but I just smile, turn and walk through a pair of French glass doors. Holding the door open I usher them inside.
They rush in and immediately Dorcas is standing there inspecting them, watching every movement like a hawk, only stopping when she notices me.
She only grins, shooting me a wink.
“Hello ladies, I’m Dorcas Meadows. What are your names and have you ever considered modeling before?”
“Marlene McKinnon.”
“Lily Evans”
“No.” Marlene says at the same time Lily says “Yes.” Marlene first turns her attention to Marlene.
“Why?” Marlene’s eyes widen as she thinks of a good reason.
“I um I’ve just never really given it any thought before, I mean I’ve only really thought about my currant job and bills. I never thought modeling could be in the cards for me.” Dorcas nods, then turns to Lily.
“Why?” She repeats.
“Well, I wanted to when I was younger. Me and my sister used to watch those modeling competitions on TV, and I mentioned once to her that when I grew up, I wanted to be a model. I remember her looking at me in disgust eyeing me up and down and telling me you’re much too large to be a model, be serious. So, I did, I believed she was right, but I’ve seen plus size models before, so clearly, I can.” She replies a small smile on her lips.
Dorcas smiles, eyeing both girls up, scanning their features.
“Okay ladies fill out some paperwork for me real quick and I’ll get you two in a training class. Here’s a card with my number so please send me your schedules so I can work with you and not against you.”
Grinning they do as instructed.
While they do I take the opportunity to check my phone.
Mr. football captain: If it isn’t too forward would you like to go to dinner with me tonight? I have reservations at The Connaught, I was going to bring Mary but her and Lily have a date tonight. Not that you’re like a second resort or anything like that!
I let out a small laugh, smirking at the screen.
Me: I’d love to, what time and what color should I wear?
