She's Just Like You

Xenophilius was reading out in the garden when he heard a squeal. Looking up, he sees his daughter running over with something in her hand. She has a smile on her face so big he can't help but match it

It hasn't been that long since her mother had died. Just barley a year and seeing his daughter finally getting back the spark of happiness in her eyes even if only for a minute is something he wouldn't trade for the world.

When Luna makes it over to him her smile seems to widen and he can't help but see her mother in it (and he can't decide if that's a good thing). Ignoring that thought he put his book aside on the table to greet his daughter

"Hello, lovely" he says, eyes softening when Luna's smile falters "what have you got" he tries hoping to bring her smile back up. It didn't come back completely but a small ones still there as she shyly hands him a flower crown.

He looks down at it, eyes widening slightly when he sees which ones she used. Looking back up at his daughter, he reaches over cradling her face in one hand. With the other he lifts the crown to place it on her head when he's suddenly hit with a memory.

Pandora is sitting in the garden with a tear stained face. She's looks up when she hears leaves cracking around her. She gives her husband a watery smile tightening her hand around the book in her hand.

"I just put Luna down" he said walking closer to sit next to her "I wanted to see if you were okay". Pandora leans her head on his shoulder and opens the photo album again, tears gathering in her eyes.

"I just miss him so much" she cries with shaking hands "I just wish he could have seen her, just one more time." Taking a deep breath, she sits up and looks over at him. Her eyes drift to his sad and she leans over plucking a flower from right next to him. Holding it in her hand she picks another and starts twisting them together. She picks a couple more before looking over at Xenophilius.

"Evan used to make these all the time" she stated, looking back down as she speaks "He'd make me flower crowns anytime I was sad. Say I shouldn't cry cause' I'm a princess" stuttering on the last word as she finishes making it.

She looks up at him with a sly smile, leaning over to place it on his head. "There" She exclaims "Now you can be a princess, too"

"Daddy?" Xenophilius is pulled out of the memory when he hears that and sees Luna looking at him "How do I look" She asks with a confused smile.

He smiles back at her "Like the prettiest princess in the world" Her smile widens at that (And he decides that seeing Pandora in it is, in fact, a good thing) and it warms his heart knowing that his babygirl's happiness is coming back. Though the grief of her mom will always be there, it doesn't have to control her forever.

Luna gasps as a thought appears in her mind and her smile turns mischievous. Xenophilius looks at his daughter confused before realizing what she's thinking and letting out a laugh. Luna turns to run back to the flowers and he smiles as she goes to make him his own saying he could be a princess too. He looks over at the picture of his wife on the book he was reading before standing to follow his daughter out. As he does he has just one thought on his mind.
