Summary
Zinnia Geminga Black is an American witch. She receives a letter to Hogwarts and accepts, with the hope that she will get the chance to learn more about her late father, Regulus Black. She leaves her Manhattan penthouse and makes waves as the American mean girl in Slytherin. She is in the same grade as Fred and George Weasley. The story begins two years before Harry Potter arrives at Hogwarts. * I pulled a lot of themes from works like Secrets & Masks by Emerald Slytherin and Manacled by senlinyu. Timeline loosely follows HP books. Zinnia's character shares traits with Serena Van Der Woodsen from Gossip Girl. Rich, pretty, elite, american, Manhattan, but a pureblood witch.

George's POV pt1

That summer, Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes was buzzing. The twins made triple what they had planned to and had more money in their pockets than either of them had in their entire lives.

“You know Freddie, I think dropping out of old Hoggiewarts was the best thing we ever did.” George hiccuped. They closed up for the night and were celebrating a record day at the Leaky Cauldron. It was the day before the start of school.

“I will drink to that. Cheers, brother!” Fred said, clinking glasses.

“Our hard work this summer paid off more than any year spent there. Literally!” George said, fanning himself with a wad of cash.

“Alright mate, let's not flaunt. We’re not Malfoys.” Fred joked and they laughed out loud.

“And I will drink to that! Ugly ferret face Draco, I hope I never see that prick again.”

“Cheers!” Fred said and they bought a few more rounds before heading back home.

Once Hogwarts students were back at school, the shop had quieted for the most part. Fred and George had started to spend more time at Grimmauld place and helping The Order recruit. Now that the Voldemort cat was out of the bag, wizards were taking their stance: either with he-who-must-not-be-named or against, although many were still in denial. The townhouse was eerily quiet after Sirius had died last year. It was a few days before Christmas break and the twins were busy with holiday orders and restocking for the boxing day rush.
Just he and Fred were left behind after the meeting, they were about to charm the door with another protection ward when they heard a loud bang come from upstairs, they looked at eachother.

“Kreacher,” They said in unison and rolled their eyes.

“I better go check on the monster before we leave. I don’t want to come back after New Years to the smell of rotting elf flesh.” George said as he made his way back up the hall to the stairs.

“Ew, that is not a stench I want to imagine. You go on, I'll wait here. Kreacher gives me the heebie-jeebies.” Fred crossed his arms and shivered.

George ran up the steps, taking them three at a time. He wanted to check for life and then get out of there. He heard shuffling behind a door, it was Regulus’s old room. He hadn’t spent much if anytime in there.

“Kreacher, you ok? Hello?” He peeked his head in.

Kreacher was in there, shuffling around papers and muttering to himself.

“Master Regulus told Kreacher it was here. He must find it! Where did he leave it? Oh, you.” He stopped when he saw George in the doorway.

“What are you looking for? Do you need help?”

“I require no assistance from you. I have an important message to deliver, I just have to find where Master Regulus left it.” He started to shuffle around again, knocking on wood planks. “Ah! I remember now!” He snapped his fingers and the large heavy four poster bed levitated off the floor. Kreacher walked underneath it and removed a floor board. He came back into sight with a small package in his hand and an envelope, snapping his fingers to drop the bed back in its place.

“Ok, well I’m gonna leave you to it. Happy Christmas Kreacher.”

Kreacher barely looked back at George before he disapparted with a loud crack.

“That was bloody odd.”

The twins spent Christmas at home back at The Burrow. George wondered if Zinnia received the gift he had sent her. He had given up trying Hugo’s disconnected phone, but continued to send his weekly letters.
