Attack of the wolf

February 16 1965

The night was scorchingly cold. It had been a hot day so mother had opened the window to let in some air.

Something moved outside his window. Something big and lupine. Only it didn’t look like Biscuit. It was black with sharp grey stripes. It’s eyes as black as the night. He jumped in through the window and let out a menacing snarl.

His heart was thundering in his ribcage.

Chills were running down his spine, goosebumps spreading on his arms. Every hair on his body stood up. Something told him to run, that he was in danger. Yet his limbs had frozen. They were tensed in fear, refusing to move.

Mom said said monsters aren’t real. She is a liar he thought.

It sniffed once and its enormous mouth opened into a leer. Remus began trembling, tears falling down his cheeks as he sobbed. He was so scared. Monster, scary monster Remus inner monologue cried.

The wolfs lip curled revealing pointed razor-sharp teeth. He licked them menacingly and started prowling towards the bed. The breath caught in his chest, and he couldn’t breathe. The wolf jumped biting onto his stomach.

It was an unbelievable pain. It hurts, it hurts Remus screamed but not out loud, everything coming from his mouth was a scream of pure agony. The wolfs teeth was sharper than knives and he had so many. His jaw was huge being able to bite almost all of Remus stomach. He heard something break and Remus let out a strangled cry of pain.

One of his ribs had been broken. Remus couldn’t breathe, he couldn’t see he couldn’t even hear his own screams. The only thing Remus knew was that it hurt. Kill me, rather die than this Remus childish voice cried in his head. He was not able to think after that, it hurt too much.

Something was spreading from the open wound of hell on his stomach through his body. It was warm but not pleasantly so, it burned leaving every nerve read raw. Something scorching was travelling through his veins. It boiled like acid. Tearing through him.

It was like Remus was being thrown under water and falling deeper and deeper. He could hear as from a distance his screaming and feel the blood oozing from him. Then it was over.

There was a voice but he could not make out what it said but it sounded like a spell. The wolf quickly raised his head and whined in pain.

The pain lessened slightly but it still throbbed, and he was bleeding even more now. He was fighting to get up to the surface before but it was even more difficult now. Remus fought the darkness with every ounce of power he possessed. The wolf was gone, and a face loomed over him. Remus fought the darkness clouding his vision.

Father. Tears were running down his cheeks. He looked like he had just seen his son murdered. Every droplet of blood had drained from his face, leaving him white as a ghost. He shook him even as black was creeping from the corners of his vision. The curls of his hair fell back and forth as he shook his bleeding son.

“Remus” he cried, shaking him gently by the shoulders. Remus fought to not succumb to the darkness despite the crippling agony.

His bottom lip trembled, his eyebrows were pulled tight together and his eyes were wide. They shon as the tears streamed. He looked so dreadfully sad, shocked.

He felt a lump in his throat, and he wanted to hug his dad. Even though the wolf was gone he felt scared. Remus opened his shaky mouth and tried to breath. Remus blinked working hard against his drooping eyelids. “dad” he croaked, and a bit of blood came up from his throat out of his mouth. He could not fight the darkness anymore. Everything went black and he was swallowed whole.
