Chapter 1
Harry woke up feeling as if a herd of centaurs would have run over his head. He heard some hurried footsteps near him and an authoritative voice saying something before some soft hands slided under his shirt and began touching his torso.
He slightly opened his eyes and breathed relieved when he saw it was her.
- That's ticklish Pans- he said softly chuckling.
- Shut up Potter, you're covered in blood, I'm trying to find out that you don't have any deadly wound- she commanded and Harry could hear the concern in her voice.
- It must be from my hand- he growled attempting to sit and showing it to her, a piece of wood had been piercing his palm, near his fingers. It was hurting and throbbing like hell and he had been stupid enough to take it out, causing a lot of bleeding and fainting in the process.
- You stubborn bloody bastard- Pansy exclaimed checking his hand- I told you to wait, but do you ever listen? Of course not, you could have died you arsehole.
- But I'm alive Pansy- he replied reassuring her with a smile.
- I've been looking for you for hours, do you think I don't have anything better to do than to go after a stubborn git that it's not able to listen to any reason?- she said looking at him and Harry noticed the tears and fear in her eyes.
- It had to be done or else those muggles would be dead now- he said stubbornly.
Pansy closed her eyes and took a deep breath- Fuck you and your hero complex Potter- she said helping him stood up and guiding him to their tent.
- You have a vicious tongue Pans- he replied leaning into her for some support- but I appreciate having you here.
It had been a surprise for the golden trio when they crossed paths with a wounded and distressed Pansy Parkinson on their search for the horcruxes. It had been even a bigger surprise when the girl begged for their help.
Ron and Hermione had been reluctant about taking her in, she could be a spy after all, but it took Harry one look at her eyes to realize how scared she was.
He couldn't leave her alone and wounded in the cold night at the mercy of the woods, death eaters and who knows what else, not after she had told them how she had escaped from Hogwarts and the Carrows' wicked games.
Soon enough, while she recovered, the trio discovered that Pansy Parkinson had a special talent for healing and potions and it was exactly what they were lacking in their group dynamic. They didn't particularly share their mission and Pansy didn't ask many questions, but they let her in. Especially Harry.
The boy who lived found himself attracted to the slytherin girl like if a gravitational force pulled him towards her, he was curious and surprised of the way he enjoyed lots of time with Pansy, talking about everything and nothing. She made him forget about the heavy burden of carrying the slytherin locket, it was like the horcrux's darkness couldn't affect him at all when he was in her company.
But of course, when everything was going well in Harry's life, something had to happen. And all hell break loose one night when Ron accused Harry of faltering their mission and putting everyone at risk just because he wanted to get into Parkinson's knickers.
The redhead had run away after a big fight and Hermione had promised Harry that she was going to bring him back, leaving him and Pansy on their own. But his friends didn't return and after a few days of waiting they had to move their camp if they didn't want to be found by death eaters.
It had been a week when they had settled their camp near a river, Harry was keeping watch at night when he spotted some muggles being tortured by snatchers, and being the impulsive person he was, had run straight towards them.
Pansy had been so worried when they got separated and couldn't find Harry when everything was over, she had spent almost the whole night looking for him.
- That would do for now, you should get some sleep- said Pansy when she finished cleaning and patching his hand.
- Is it as bad as it feels?- he asked when she walked to the cauldron and began searching for ingredients.
- It will help you to stop and think next time you feel like doing something so stupid- replied Pansy not meeting his eye and he knew better than to argue with her like this- try to rest while I work on this.
Harry fell asleep rather quickly and after what felt like only a few minutes, a gentle shake brought him back to reality.
- Drink this in short sips- ordered Pansy placing a cup in his hand, with a potion that looked disgusting- it will help you heal the broken bones and not to feel anything in your hand while it happens.
- I feel nauseous just by the smell- replied Harry while she removed the bandage of his hand.
- Drink it Potter- she commanded with severe glare- I'm afraid the cut is too deep, I'll have to stitch you.
Harry took a sip and paled, Pansy didn't know if it was because of the potion or because the idea of seeing a needle go through his skin - have you done it before?- he asked, unsure.
- Only with clothes, never on a person, so please try to be still- she said cleaning his hand again and Harry hissed when a stinging sensation burned him- that wouldn't be happening if you drink the potion.
He emptied the cup grimacing and looked at Pansy's focused face the whole time she worked, not daring to look at his own bloody hand or the needle. The small furrow between her brows that he noticed every time she was concentrated made him smile. He couldn't help but admire her beautiful features and in that moment he wanted to do nothing else but to kiss her plump lips and forget about the horcruxes, Voldemort and the war.
- That's all, you would feel your hand good as new in a few days- she said looking at him when she was done.
- I think I love you- blurted out Harry holding his breath when he realized that he had said it out loud.
Pansy bit her lip, unable to look away from his green and bright orbs that suddenly seemed to be closer to her own. She didn't know who started it but the kiss was everything she had imagined and more, it was sweet and tender and passionate and at the time she thanked she was sitting because she felt her knees were weak.
- You should have some rest now- she whispered with a little smile after losing track of time.
- Rest with me- he said feeling bold after the kiss, grabbing her hand and pulling her to lie next to him- you look exhausted too.
- Someone has to keep watch, it's dangerous…- she observed, she wanted nothing more but to be there with him, but someone needed to be the voice of the reason in this situation.
- We can set alarms, just for a little while, please- he interrupted her.
- Okay- she sighed, unable to say no to those green pleading eyes- but get some sleep Potter, you need it.
Harry watched her clean the place with a wave of her wand as she walked outside the tent. He was dozing off when he felt her warm body cuddling next to him and her soft lips on his cheek before she whispered.
- I think I love you too Harry.
