A tawny wolf felt the snow fly up around him as he ran toward the lake before him. Hopefully, it wasn’t frozen. He had been running for a long time. When he arrived at the lake, he found it wasn’t frozen.
The Tawny wolf took a long drink. He let his guard down. He has been alone the whole night, that was until he heard a growl behind him. His ears twitched, and hackles rose as he turned around. In front of him were two silver wolves. There was no way he could take one wolf, let alone two alpha wolves who stood in front of him. They looked almost identical, but one wolf was a little more silver with ice-blue eyes. The other had the greenest eyes he had ever seen.
The green-eyed wolf growled and moved toward him. Without thinking, the tawny wolf turned and ran. He didn’t know these woods very well. This was his first time running into them. He knew he had to get away from these two wolves. Teddy turned, and he saw three black wolves. All of them had green eyes.
The tawny wolf couldn’t let the whine escape. He had to be strong. He couldn’t take on this pack. His claws dug into the snow as he made a break for it. Snow was thrown behind him as he tried to move around the three black wolves. He saw more silver and black wolves in the distance.
The tawny wolf didn’t notice when he looked back ahead. He didn’t have time to see the fallen tree. He tried to jump over it, but his front paws hit something hidden by snow. He tumbled over himself and rolled until he felt his head hit something hard. Howls pierced the air before his vision darkened.
——-
“Do you think he is dead?” A voice pushed through the darkness and fuzziness in his mind.
“No dummy, he isn’t dead! At least, I don’t think so? Should we wake Dad?” Another voice whisper shouted.
“No! We should wake Ulric. Daddy and Alpha are sleeping. They wouldn’t like that we found a stranger,” That was a softer voice.
“Fine, Randy, go get Ulric!”” The second voice said.
“He doesn’t look that scary, but I’ll go get Ulric.” Magic filled the air again, then he heard paws hit the ground. It was the wolves that he met last night. They could change at will. He read about it, but he couldn’t make himself do it. Not that he had someone help him, he was shunned and everyone walked on eggshells around him. That is why he had to get away. Who would miss an orphaned werewolf?
——-
Ulric stretched; he couldn't sleep last night, not since he saw that tawny wolf. It was like something clicked in him when he saw those hazel eyes. He was a werewolf, of course. He also could feel strange magic, something he had never felt before. His dad home-schooled all the pups. Shaw and Zef and the triplets are still studying; he would help when he wasn’t at the bakery.
“Ulric… Ulric? Are you awake?” His little brother, Randy, said, shaking him. If he wasn’t awake, he would be awake now. Ulric didn’t want to deal with whatever the triplets had gotten into. “Please wake up Ulric, we think we found a dead body!”
Ulric sat up too quickly and bumped their heads together. “Dead Body?!” Ulric rubbed his head as he jumped up.
“Come on, pup, tell me where he is!” They both changed into their wolf and ran toward the woods. Ulric followed his brother through the woods until he felt that magic again. His heart pounded in his chest as he ran towards the magic.
As soon as he saw the other two of the triplets. He sprinted forward and changed back into his human form.
“Ulric! We found him and he looked dead. Phoebe said we should tell you and not wake Daddy and Alpha.” Channing rambled out. The triplets still look so young. He guessed he looked the same at 14.
Ulric looked behind his sibling and saw the most beautiful man he had ever seen. His hair was shaggy and bright pink. He was lean and tall. Though not as tall as Ulric.
“The three of you go back to the pack. I’ll deal with this. He isn’t dead. I can hear his heartbeat from here. You should be able to tell that he is one of us. Now go before you get in trouble for running off. You know how Daddy gets.” He commanded. The triplets nodded quickly and changed to their wolf form.
“Open your eyes. You know I can hear that you are not asleep. Your heartbeat is racing right now. Don’t worry, I won’t hurt you.” Just the opposite, Ulric thought with a smile. He felt the same magic that he felt the night before with the wolf that he saw. Those hazel eyes pop open. Ulric’s breath caught in his chest.
“P…Please don’t hurt me! I’m sorry I’ll leave right now. I didn’t know I was on pack land. I… I just moved, and it was the full moon.. and I.” The other werewolf was in full panic. Ulric crouched. He placed his hand around the back of the other werewolf’s neck and squeezed gently.
“It’s okay, sweet wolf. You have nothing to be afraid of. I’m Ulric. What’s your name?” Ulric squeezed his neck again, gently trying to comfort him.
“M...My name is T..Teddy, all of those wolves last night were your family? You were the silver wolf with the beautiful green eyes.” Beautiful green eyes! Ulric saw the blush on Teddy’s cheeks. Then watched his hair turn pink to purple. He gasped.
“Yes, they are my family. Your magic, you’re a metamorphmagus. That is why your magic felt different last night.” Teddy nodded and looked down at his lap and then back up. He must have noticed that they were both naked still.
Ulric didn’t mind being naked, but he could tell Teddy wasn’t used to it. He was trying to be a gentleman and not to look down at the beautiful man. Ulric waved his hand, clothing both of them. Teddy looked back up at him and smiled sweetly.
“I am a metamorphmagus, there are not many of us.” There was that blush again. Ulric couldn’t help but want to kiss those cheeks. “Thank you for the clothes. I don’t think I can remember where I put my own. I should head back. I bet you have a lot to do.” Teddy stood up and Ulric quickly followed. He couldn’t leave yet!
“Please don’t leave yet. You are probably hungry. My Dad is the world’s best cook, and baker. With 9 pups he has had a lot of practice. Stay, please.” Ulric politely commanded. Hopefully, Teddy’s wolf would listen. As he looked Teddy up and down. He could tell that the man needed to eat more. His wolf and him were not on the same page.
Teddy said nothing but nodded slowly. Ulric smiled at him and started towards home. This sweet wolf was his.
Teddy knew he was making a mistake. Why is he following this complete stranger? He is obviously an alpha. Teddy hasn’t been around any other werewolves before. This was so bloody stupid.
“Don’t be scared, sweet wolf. You have nothing to fear. My alpha and dad are harmless. The one you should worry about is Lulu. Her bark is worse than her bite.” Ulric said, and winked at him.
The rest of the walk was silent until they walked through a clearing. Teddy gasped.
There was a row of cabins on each side of the path. In the end was the biggest. Each had a small porch on them. There must have been more. Oh gods, what did he get himself into?
“ULRIC!” The girl of the three that found him came up to them.
“Phoebe, get Alpha and Daddy. Let them know that we have a guest.” Ulric reached out and grabbed his hand. Teddy’s breath hitched. He should pull away, but he didn't.
"DADDY! ALPHA!” Phoebe ran into the house.
Ulric squeezed his hand. “Don’t be afraid. Deep breath sweet wolf.”
Teddy watched as a large man with silver hair. Oh god, he knows who this is! It was the man who changed his father. Oh god, he knew this was a bad idea.
Then the door opened again, and another person walked out with raven hair and bright green eyes.
“H..Harry P…Potter” Teddy’s long-lost godfather, the man that disappeared, the man that he found out that paid for his schooling. The only reason he could start over. Was because of the vault Harry set up for him.
Harry’s head snapped to him, and he could feel the magic rolling off him. Merlin, he was scary. Ulric stepped in front of him. He could feel his magic as well. Oh, gods, it wasn’t that Greyback was going to kill him. It was Harry Potter.
“Daddy, this is…” Teddy was frozen in his spot as Harry cut him off after he took a deep breath.
“Teddy Lupin…” Teddy looked over Ulric’s shoulder and saw the shorter man with tears in his eyes.
Teddy walked out from behind Ulric and spoke. “Y...Yes, I’m Teddy Lupin. I… I didn’t think that you would remember me. You have done so much for me already. I’m sorry to be on your land. I… I just recently moved. I… I can leave… I’m sorry.” Teddy wished that he could change at will.
“Don’t be scared pup. I can smell your fear from here. There is nothing to be afraid of. Has someone hurt you? You can tell us you are going to be safe here!” The alpha said in a deep gravelly voice.
“N…Nobody hurt me, at least not physically. I mean…” Harry Potter, the Harry Potter, walked up to him and cupped his cheeks.
“My poor pup, what did they do to you? I should have taken you with me. I'm so sorry! I wasn’t able to take care of you at that time. I could hardly take care of myself. When I left, I didn’t know about you being a werewolf. I’m sorry. ”
A sob caught in his throat. He felt Ulric behind him. “Daddy, what is going on? You know Teddy? You're his godfather? I don’t remember you saying anything about having a godson?” Teddy could smell Ulric's confusion and hurt.
“I didn’t keep it from you pup. The wizard world I left behind. I couldn’t deal with them anymore. Not after the war.”
“It’s okay Ulric.” Teddy looked back at the werewolf. “Harry Potter has been the only good thing in my life.”
“Well, welcome home Teddy. I’ll make sure to continue to be a good thing in your life. We will have to add to that list.”
