Chapter 2

"What?" The blonde Ravenclaw said. Her face turned bright strawberry red.

Horae stuttered, "I said you're a Ravenclaw, yeah, um . . . right?" Nice save Horae, she'll definitely believe that. Way to ruin your chances with a cute girl.

"Uh, yeah I am, " The blonde Ravenclaw said awkwardly, "I'm Astoria Greengrass. "

Astoria Greengrass . . . Horae didn't recognize that name but at least she had something to call her other than 'the blonde Ravenclaw' and 'the Ravenclaw'. Though if she remembers correctly there is a Greengrass in her year.

"I'm Horae Potter, " Horae still introduced herself even if she's sure the girl already knows who she is. That seemed to be the right choice as Astoria's face was no longer bright red, it was instead a light pink. "If you don't mind me asking, why are you in the kitchens?"

Astoria stared at her cake for a few moments before answering, "My dorm mates aren't really the most considerate of people. " She rubbed the back of her neck, "They've been gossiping loudly for hours and It got to the point where I just decided to leave. "

"Why didn't you just use a Silencing Charm on your bed?" Horae asked a tad bit confused.

Astoria turned even more bright pink before admitting, "I don't know how to do a Silencing Charm. "

"Well then, maybe I could teach you. " Horae said before fully comprehending what she had just said. Bloody hell, she barely knows how to cast a Silencing Charm correctly herself, how would she be able to teach someone else how to cast it? Why must pretty girls turn her brain into mush?!

"Really, you'd do that? "Astoria asked surprised, her Cobalt blue eyes widened for a few seconds before she got a nervous look on her face. "I don't want to intrude, afterall, I'm sure you're busy enough as it is, being both the girl-who-lived and a sixth year. "

Horae stuffed the last of her Treacle Tart in her mouth, "I can teach you right now. " Horae reached for her wand before hesitating, "Unless you don't want me to, of course. "

"No, no it's fine, I can deal with them. At least I get cake every time they become too loud. " Astoria said. As if to prove her point she ate the last bite of her slice of cake and handed her empty plate to the nearest house elf. Horae chuckled, "I suppose you do. "

They sat in silence for a few seconds before Astoria spoke, "Well, I better get going. Professor McGonagall's given us a test tomorrow. "

"Ah, that sucks her tests are always tricky. What year are you in?" Horae asked as Astoria stood up from her seat. "I'm a 4th year. "

"Her tests only become harder and harder. " Transfiguration admittedly wasn't Horae's strong suit but at least she wasn't absolutely terrible at it.

"Well, it's a good thing I'm a Ravenclaw then. " Astoria said before waving goodbye to Horae and leaving the kitchens. Once she was gone, Horae's heart finally stopped beating so fast and she could feel her face become less hot. As Horae gave her plate to the nearest house elf and thanked them for the snack, she tried to recall their entire conversation. With how awkward their conversation was she hoped she didn't ruin a potential friendship. Horae left the kitchens and quickly made her way back to her dorm room. Once she had safely made her way past Hermione, she took off her slippers, hid her invisibility cloak, and climbed into bed. Putting her wand on the desk right next to her bed, she couldn't help but wonder when she'd see Astoria again.
