Prolog
In every star constellation there are fewer stars that shine brighter, bigger, then the rest of them. It gives them a certain point of attention. An attention that isn’t needed.
Maybe not even wanted.
Probably not even wanted.
But it still exists. These stars are always on a podium. Observed by the world they unwillingly shine on.
My whole family, the noble Blacks, are named after the brightest, most amazing stars and constellations of the universe.
There are my father Orion, named after an entire constellation, and my mother, Walburga who has been arranged to marry my father, like most of the family members in the house of Black.
And then there are the children, the heirs, the once that have all the hope and pressure on them.
The oldest: Sirius Orion Black, named after the brightest star in the constellation “large dog“ and in the entire night sky. And also our “beloved“ father.
He is good looking, funny, arrogant and incredibly convinced of himself but still fulled with Self-hatred at the same time. And angry with the world he was put into.
Sirius is black coffee,
vinyl records,
a snowstorm,
a warm comfy blanket
and the color green.
Not a grass green, but a soft pastel green.
And despite all the things he feels, he would do anything to protect the people he cares about.
To be honest I am not quite sure that I am one of these people. But I don’t blame him. Our family has never worked that way.
The middle child: Regulus Arcturus Black, named after the brightest star, the heart, in the constellation Leo. And also named after the main star in the bear keeper. Reggie is handsome, quiet, rude and a lone wolf.
He is poetry,
The painting ‘despair’ by Edvard Munch
The color of a dark grey-like black,
A beautiful sunken ship at the bottom of the ocean, that a fictional character in an old book found while diving at their vacation,
and Lavender flowers.
I honestly don’t think I really know him. And I’m pretty sure he hates me.
And then there is me. The youngest. My first name is named after the main star of the constellation Lyra. The brightest star in the northern sky, part of the Summer Triangle. My second name named after the brightest star in the constellation Virgo.
What I think I am?
I think
I am a calm song
A library
The night sky
The smell of rain in the summer
And a dark purple.
My name is Vega Spica Black.
And I will show them.
I will show them all.
