Fuck it, it's Fine
Summary
Seeing Sirius tonight is a horrible idea, and Remus will probably regret it in the morning. But right now, he really can't think of any reason why he shouldn't.
Note
Hello!I want to start off by saying I have never written fanfiction before, but I have so many story ideas in my head and I thought "Why the hell not try."I also struggle to write creatively and have for some time now and it has really been bothering me lately so I wanted to try my hand at it. I'm a graduate student who writes research papers out the ass so writing professionally is all I know lmao. This is my first attempt at real creative writing and fanfiction in general so I hope you all enjoy it. It is short, but I have to start somewhere, right!! Please go easy on me <3With all of that out of the way, this work is absolutely based on Olivia Rodrigo's latest singles because I literally cannot get enough of it. I thought it would make for a fun short story!

Downing his third tequila shot in 20 minutes, Remus quickly sucks a lime into his mouth and shakes his head. "Fuck these are foul!" he shouts over the music in Lily's direction. She nods, her face twisting "But fuck are they getting us there!" She grabs Remus's arm and pulls him over to a table that's only half occupied, sitting at the empty end. They look out at the crowded dance floor. "I am not drunk enough for that yet," Lily shouts. Remus shakes his head "Give it ten minutes for that last shot to kick in." Lily nods in agreement.

Remus pulls out his phone to quickly check the time (10:31 p.m.) when he receives a text. He quickly glances up at Lily who's already looking at him. She raises an eyebrow, "What?" she asks, propping her head up in her hands. Remus shakes his head "S'nothing," he replies, looking back down at the text message. "Remus, I am not stupid, and I am offended you think so." Sighing, he replies "It's just a text is all." "From whom?" Lily asks, and Remus stares back at her in response. She groans, rolling her head along with her eyes "That son of a bitch, when was the last time you two even spoke?" she asks, obviously annoyed. "Probably April," he replies, pulling a face. It's June.

"What does he want?" Lily asks with a slight hint of anger in her tone. Remus is aware this anger is not directed at him, but he shrinks in on himself nonetheless. He looks back down at his phone to read the text aloud.

Sirius: hey haven't heard from you in a while. just finished moving into a new place you should drop by soon ;)

"Oh my god what a foul man," Lily states, rubbing her eyes in annoyance. Remus shrugs, "It's not that bad really. I mean, we're friends, right? I should be able to hang out with a friend." Lily can do nothing but glare at Remus. He holds his hands up in surrender "What? You and James are still friends, how is that any different?" She scoffs, "How is that any different? Remus, James and I were never in a relationship and we were especially never in a relationship that ended as horribly as yours and Sirius's. I'd kill him before I was friends with him."

Remus shakes his head, "You know he's in love with you, right?" Lily drops her hands on the table, "We both decided a relationship would never work out between the two of us." "No Lily, you decided that. He would agree to anything as long as you said it." She shakes her head in annoyance, "How did this conversation even turn on me? This is about you and your apparent decision to not block Sirius the second he walked out the door." Remus sighed, rubbing his face with his hand, "It's not that deep Lily, and it's not like I'm going over there now. I'm out with you and even if I weren't it'd be a bad idea anyway, right?" "The fact that you're asking me will probably be my last straw." Remus laughs "Lils, I'm not fucked up enough to be that stupid. Give me another hour." She breathes out a laugh, nudging Remus on the shoulder, "You will be the death of me." Quickly, she points at Remus with a serious expression on her face, "Seeing him tonight would be an incredibly bad idea point blank period. But since I know your drunk ass will not see it that way, let's go find someone to take me home," she winks, smirking at Remus as she pulls him up from the table and on to the dance floor.

________

About an hour later, Remus stumbles off the dance floor, fumbling his phone out of his back pocket with one hand and wiping the sweat off of his brow with the other. He unlocks his phone and quickly blinks and shakes his head to clear his very blurred vision. He begins typing a message slowly so as to not mess up the text and come off as incredibly drunk (God forbid).

Remus: heard you got a new place

Sirius: i'd say you heard correctly *Sirius shared a location*

Remus: oh baby if you want me there that badly you'll have to pay for my uber ;)

Sirius: you're terrible

*Venmo- Sirius paid you $30.00*

Sirius: keep the change ;)

Chuckling to himself, Remus orders his Uber and ventures back out onto the dance floor to find Lily. Once spotted, he grabs her arm and pulls her close so he can yell into her ear, "I'm gonna head out." "Where are you going?" she asks, already knowing the answer. "I'm just heading home," he shouts back. "Remus," she says with a warning tone. "It's like you said, seeing him tonight would be a bad idea, right?" he winks at her. "Text me when you get home safely then," she says, shaking her head and kissing him on the cheek. "You do the same, love."

________

Remus: pulling up

Still looking at his phone and switching back to the Uber app, Remus steps out of the car. "Thank you," he says to the driver as he throws the door shut. He rates the driver 5 stars, then tucks his phone back in his pocket. He looks up at the row of townhouses in front of him when he hears a door open. He glances over toward the noise to see Sirius step out and lean against the door frame. He's wearing a pair of grey joggers that are loosely hanging off of his hips and a cropped black tank. He smiles at Remus, and Remus quickly forgets why this is a bad idea.

He walks up the steps toward Sirius whose smile has turned into a mischievous smirk and whose eyes are trailing up and down Remus's body. "What?" Remus asks, looking down at himself. "New jeans?" Sirius questions, hooking a finger into the belt loop and pulling Remus a fraction of an inch closer. "Not really, I've had them for a couple of months." "Hmm," Sirius replies to the subtle dig. "Well come in," he says, pulling once more on Remus's belt loop before letting go and showing Remus in.

Remus steps in and looks around the new place. It's fairly open, having walked into the living room that is only separated from the kitchen by a counter. Both rooms are fairly spacious, and to the right are stairs, a set that leads down towards what, Remus assumes, is the basement, and a set that leads up towards the bedrooms. "Would you like the grand tour?" Sirius asks, still eyeing Remus. Remus shrugs "I wouldn't be opposed."

"Well, since you've seen everything on this floor, why don't we start upstairs?" Sirius says, smirking. Remus nods and Sirius begins to walk toward the stairs, brushing against Remus in the process. "Come then," he states as he begins his ascent. Remus follows him up the stairs, trying so hard not to stare at his ass in the process.

"That," Sirius begins, pointing to the direction of a closed door as they reach the top of the stairs "is office space." He walks in the opposite direction of the closed door and enters a dark room flicking on the lights. "And this," he begins, walking toward the bed in the middle and sitting down, "is my room."

Remus looks around the room quickly. Vinyls, posters, video games, television set, none of it matters when Sirius is sitting on his bed, looking like sex on legs. Remus looks at Sirius whose now leaning back on his arms and staring back at Remus. "Is there more I need to see?" Remus asks stepping closer to Sirius so that he now has to look up at Remus. Sirius swallows, "Nothing urgent." Remus straddles Sirius's lap, taking his face in his hands, "Excellent." He brings their lips together in a heated kiss slowly pushing Sirius down on the bed.

________

Sitting up, Remus reaches across a spent Sirius to retrieve his phone from his jeans, which are now on the floor. Sirius places his palm on the small of Remus's back as he's fishing for his phone "Stay baby." Having finally found his phone he sits back up and looks at Sirius, whose now brushing a loose strand of Remus's hair behind Remus's ear. And maybe agreeing is a terrible idea, but Remus certainly cannot think of any reasons why. In response, Remus leans down and kisses Sirius quickly. Sirius hums with pleasure as he smiles and closes his eyes. Remus readjust himself next to Sirius in bed and clicks the lock button on his phone to check for any messages.

Lily: Ur so dumb remus lupin. i love you and try to make smart choices.

Remus: hey lils just now laying down for bed. i love you. goodnight

Lily: you better be in your own damn bed

Remus smiles and locks his phone, setting it off to the side. Sirius turns on his side and props himself up on his elbow, looking down at Remus. He smiles, tracing patterns on Remus's chest. "Whose that you're texting?" he asked. Remus smiles up at Sirius "Just Lily." "Oh, do tell her I said hi." Remus rolls his eyes at a smiling Sirius, "She'd kill you for having the audacity and then kill me for enabling it." Sirius chuckles, "She never liked me." "That's not true. She just doesn't like you now," Remus states humorously.

Sirius's smile falls slightly, one might even miss it if they weren't looking. "Well, I can't really hold that against her." Remus, sensing the switch in the tone of the conversation, quickly flips their positions so he's now hovering over Sirius. He runs a hand slowly down Sirius's chest, "Why are we talking when there are other, more interesting things we could be doing?" Sirius gasps softly as Remus's hand continues further down his body. "Oh yeah?" Sirius begins breathily, "Enlighten me."
