Hermione had finally argued, pleaded, and compromised, to finally be able to leave the stuffy compound she hadn't left since she first came to this strange new realm. She had an escort, one of the compromises, and was only allowed in the shadow haunts, as she had heard it called. Luckily for Adiens ears, she had found a bookseller at the market and was content at the moment with her first outing. That was until she heard a screech and a silver dragon, the size of a pony came barreling towards her, dodged her escort ad positively tackled her to the floor. That wasn't such a good turn and didn't put a positive on the possibility that she would be allowed out again any time soon.
In the week following Alec's assistance during the introductions, they had discovered a minor difficulty with how it had reacted to Harry. Whenever he was feeling an overwhelming emotion, he transformed into his Silverwing form for the next hour or so. That had definitely made for an awkward end to certain bedroom activities. Alec had spent the next three days in Merrow territory trying to figure out what had gone wrong with the spell, and more importantly how to counteract the effects so that Harry would be able to have the physical intimacy he craved due to his Empathy without spontaneously turning into a dragon whenever he was teased to long. It also meant that Harry was severely limited in where during the hunt he could go. Not having control of his empathy meant most public places were overwhelming.
Thankfully Hadrien suggested the shadow Haunts. Apparently, they were more lenient on what form beings choose to be in as long as they didn't cause a disturbance. The suggestion had come just as Harry was reaching the end of how long he could be cooped up in one place. Even if that place was a private island.
The very next day Hadrien shadowed them off the island. Harry was already a Silverwing, the excitement of finally being able to leave and see more of his new home meant he had spent the entire time since the trip had been agreed upon by Theo. Once they arrived Hadrien let Harry take the lead, let him wander and look around and take in as much about his surroundings as he could. They had agreed to stay out all day. His other two shadow-inclined Gheyos would meet them for lunch at an outdoor diner that Whikn knew.
The hours seemed to fly by and then they were sitting around a table that was just the right height that Harry could sit on his haunches and eat without feeling too incredibly self-conscious. Hadrien and Whikn were in a debate about some weapons smith over another when Harry saw Devrim sit up a little more and tilt his head to the side as if processing something. Harry decided to reach out his magic to see if he could pick up whatever Devrim was sensing.
Harry was off like a shot before he had fully processed what he was feeling with his magic. He knew that magical signature though. Had longed to see its person whole and well for weeks. Unconsciously Harry pulled on Hadriens's own magic that was at his disposal to avoid Hadrian trying to stop him from running away from the trio. Devrim however seemed content to simply follow behind him.
Through the crowds Harry caught a glims of familiar bushy hair buried in a book, so perfectly alive and herself, that Harry couldn't contain a screech of pure happiness. He crashed into the witch, unable and unwilling to stop or slow enough for his bonded to proceed him as a point of communication. Instead, he tackled her, tugging on his Earth bondeds magic to soften the ground, and curled around his sister. He crooned and chirped and purred and made every happy sound his dragon body could at finally being reunited. The time apart felt so much longer. it felt like he hadn't been with her since before summer. They were both so distracted and distanced once they had returned to school that it hadn't really felt like they had returned at all.
Devrim showed up then. "I know that you were excited to see her but you can't just tackle people that aren't Minh" Harry mentally chuckled at the encouragement to tackle Minh like Minh seemed to do to Devrim every time they saw each other after being apart more than ten minutes. Harry looked at him with as much puppy eyes as he could and pushed his happiness, excitement, love, longing, hurt, and hope to the forefront, so when Devrim brushed along their bond he could get a feel for what had pushed him to leave without waiting. He still hadn't stopped purring around Hermione.
A gruff and unfamiliar voice startled Harry. He jumped into a protective stance over his sister. No way anyone was taking her away again. "Kindly remove your companion from Lord Adien's consort before I do it for you mutt" Devrim snarled in response, but Hadrien laid a hand on his shoulder and took over the conversation, while Whikn moved in front of Harry.
Hermione was very confused. This dragon was acting like a very happy very friendly cat, not a pony-sized creature that could kill her very easily. Then the man came and spoke to it like it would understand, and not at all like he was surprised that the dragon had just tackled her in the middle of the market. The former lead her to believe that this was a Dragel, not a dragon. Or well, it was a dragon. But, Oh she knew what she meant. Two more men showed up at some point. One was conversing with her escort in a tongue she didn't know, the other had come to her and the Dragon-shaped dragel. "Are you hurt miss?" he asked her, which prompted a hiss from the dragon that seemed almost indigent."I know you wouldn't hurt her on purpose, but accidents can happen so it's best to ask, yes?" That got a low warble. The man turned his attention back to her, she was momentarily startled by the pink eyes before she shook it off and answered.
"No, I don't think so. Your friend here was very careful in their tackling." The man gave a nod at that but corrected her."Bonded, not friend" The dragon shoved his nose into the man's chest and purred in a similar manner to how it had after tackling her. "Well, can you get your bonded off of me and explain why exactly he tackled me in the first place?" The man winced momentarily and sent a Look at the dragon. "No can do for the first one I'm afraid. He's been trying to find you for quite some time. The second however, I have a message, 'I solemnly swear I am up to no good I was told you would know who he was from that"
Hermione whipped back to face the dragon that was slightly calmer now, looking down at her with deep soulful jade green eyes. She gasped and tentatively held out a hand "Harry?" The dragon crooned and shoved his head into her palm, purring like mad again. She choked back a sob. "Oh Harry, I've missed you!" She wrapped her arms around his much longer neck and clung on, just like she did every time they saw each other after long periods apart. She clung, and Harry purred, and the man smiled softly at her friend. But there was an argument happening outside her field her vision. She recognized one of the voices as her escort. With a sigh she pushed Harry off, much more willing to go now that she knew he was there and that she wouldn't be separated from him any more than he would her, and sat up, turning to the arguing pair.
"Melacor, enough. It was just a misunderstanding the dragon is a very dear friend of mine. No need to interfere."
A week later Alec was finally able to reverse the problematic effects of his spell, and Harry was finally able to sit down with Hermione and go over everything that had happened since they last truly saw each other, just before they separated for summer break.
