Librarians and Lunatics
Summary
Voldemort wasn't stopped by Harry Potter nor by Lily Potter's sacrifice. He was stopped by a Daedric Prince. Let's see how that changes events.
Note
i got bored and like skyrim, so i decided to write a crossover. as per my other hp fic, i dont like writing children, thus hogwarts begins acceptance from 13 instead of 11. also, major canon divergence will occur by chapter 3 or 4. as with all my fics, updates will be sporadic, but i will commit to finishing the fic.

Chapter 9

“You don’t say.” George said in response.

“I imagine you don’t have any idea what happened Mr. Tentacle Wizard.”

It was at Fred’s response that Harry heard Mora’s voice speaking in his mind.

“This is an… interestingoutcome and one that I had not anticipated. If I were to postulate, I suspect that the Magnic… web of reality, I suppose would be the closest translation, of the Mundus temporarily Planemelded with your realm’s weave of existence. With both nexūs being beneath the castle, it is likely that the paintings and similar artifacts were displaced in an esoteric sense.”

“Okay, that’s cool but how do we fix it? Take as many points as you need for as detailed an answer as possible.”

“Hey Harry, you’re talking to the air.” Fred said.

“No I’m not Fred, be quiet.” Harry said, tilting his head as though listening to something. “Damnit. Okay guys, grab hold.”

That was all the warning Harry gave the twins before he gripped an arm each and stepped through the shadows that had begun to coalesce around them. Shadow travel was… interesting. Things were less sharp in the shadows, both physically and mentally. Harry could understand how some mages got lost in the darkness. It was… comforting in a way. As he stepped fully into the realm of shade he stepped out the other end into a little-known alcove near the Great Hall.

“What the fuck was that?” George hissed at Harry.

“Shadow travel.” Harry answered glibly. “Follow me.”

Luna was having quite an enjoyable day. First, she had gotten to see her uncle who wasn't her uncle as well as seeing the Regents gain a stronger foothold on Earth. She really should make an altar for Uncle Sheo now that she thought about it, but she was rather quickly distracted from that thought by the fact that all the dishes in the Great Hall had been replaced by wheels of cheese. Eidar if the scent was anything to go by.

She was rather going to enjoy the fallout of last night she thought, though she didn’t get to enjoy the feast of cheese for very long before someone interrupted her.

“Aureal One.” Harry stated shortly.

“Curator, Nightingales.” She replied nodding at each in turn.

“Hang on, he swore the same fancy oath as us!” Fred whispered fervently “Why’d you call him something different?”

“Lord Mora’s claim takes precedence. He does have an active contract after all.”

Sliding his hand down his face, she looked at Harry. He had rather deep bags under his eyes. It rather enhanced his sleepless curator look.

“Of course, you would know about that. Okay, the Gardener told me that the Sovereign’s Magnic energy being a part of the opening is probably what’s caused all of… this and that you might know something about how to make things less… Padomaic.”

“Well, we could always summon a Crumple-Horned Snorcack.”

“Lovegood, we are not summoning a Daedroth from the Isles, that will only make things worse.”

“You say worse, I say fun. You’re awfully cautious for for a Champion.”

“That’s because I’m a Curator, not a Champion. Fred, George, I’m gonna need you to keep an eye on the Headmaster, I have things to do.” Harry said, stepping into the shadows that he had been drawing toward himself as he spoke.

Yes, Luna thought she would very much enjoy the fallout.

As Harry walked through the castle cloaked in shade but not enough to traverse through their paths he spoke, glad that no one could hear shadows speak at the depth he had submerged to.

“Okay, priority number one, figure out what else has been fucked up by the… that door wasn’t there before.”

“Indeed it wasn’t. I believe it is possible that this door was made present by the esoteric fallout of the opening of the Channel. It would be pertinent to explore the room, especially as there is a… presence that has the same aura as the sorcerer that you mother beseeched I kill.”

“Well, guess we’ll have to go in then.”

As he walked through the door, he was hit with an odd sensation, an unfortunate side effect of being in the shadows. The room felt transient, as though it wasn’t meant to exist in perpetuity, but it had been locked into its current state, unable to be unshackled until something was solved. Looking around, Harry tried to pinpoint where the oiliness that he was feeling was coming from, but it was practically impossible to do with how much mess there was.

“Hermaeus, take however mainy points you need to give me Clairvoyance. I have a feeling I’ll need it.”

As soon as he spoke, he held out his hand, twisting it ever so slightly, seeing the thread of light leading him to his destination. What he found was an odd sight. Professor Flitwick looking in shock at a diadem on an unadorned bust. Peeling away a thin layer of shadows so that his professor could hear him, but not identify the voice, Harry spoke.

“Hello Filius.”
