Chapter five

“Bakura.”

“Huh?” he groaned, his head hurt. It all felt groggy. He buried himself in whatever soft he laid on.

“Oh, come on Bakura!” someone shook him violently. He slapped the person's hand away, he scrambled out of his bed and frantically looked around. He reached for the millennium ring, but he could not find it. Knife? No.

“Bakura, calm down, what is it with you?” He recognized the voice. He breathed a bit to calm himself down and looked around. It was just his people. “No, nothing,” he said.

“Are you sure? You look a bit tired,” Ryou looked concerned. Bakura was confused, Ryou should not be concerned for him. It did not make sense.

“Yeah, just fine,” he muttered and went over to Ryou`s clothing stack and pulled out some clothes. Mostly plain looking clothes such as a one coloured trouser and a striped shirt. The room was unbearably quiet. “What is it?”

“No, just get changed, we will get picked up for the train station soon,” Malik wrinkled his face and turned to a bag he had with him.

---
Harry Potter was a thin child with big round glasses. He had messy, black hair and he had the most green eyes that Bakura had ever seen. Hagrid had introduced them at the train station and left them alone to figure out where platform 9 ¾ is. That platform did not sound real. He had wrinkled his eyebrows when he heard it.

“So… let's go and find this platform,” Harry looked nervous. He fickle with the hems of his dirty shirt. The whole group was awkward.

“I say we report the hag for giving us false information, there is no way there is a platform called 9, what was it ½?” Bakura spat. He had his big trunk behind him, there was no way this platform existed. He had forgotten about his respect for the man.

“Ignore him, he is an asshole,” Atem smirked. “But I think we should start looking for the platform or we might come late.”

“Be careful, now,” Bakura baited. He gave a cocky smirk and flipped his long hair. Harry looked bewildered at their group dynamic, he looked confused on what to say.

“Don`t say anything, they are just like that, also include Malik in that,” Ryou whispered to Harry. Malik who stood nearby heard and huffed.

“Lets go, we will be late otherwise,” Kaiba said, he let out an annoyed huff, before he walked ahead.

They headed down the aisle of different tracks. Until they came to nine and looked over at ten to see that there was no 9 ¾.

“I said it, we should report him, there is clearly no 9 ⅓,” Bakura turned and walked.

Ryou put a hand on Bakura`s shoulder. “Hey, hey, come on Bakura, perhaps there is something we did not understand?”

“Come, come children, we will be late,” a woman's voice said. Bakura looked as she ushered her ginger headed children to a wall between track nine and ten. He narrowed his eyes. Perhaps this was it, they were also with big trunks.
When one of the ginger heads went through the wall and the rest followed, Bakura smirked. Bingo. Hagrid had not lied, well, it must be some kind of magical wall to keep people out. Smart.

“There,” Bakura pointed at the wall and started to drag his trunk over to the wall.

“That is a wall, smartass,” Malik hissed. Bakura glared.

“Just watch, stupid ass,” Bakura said and dragged his trunk through the wall, he smirked as he emerged to the other side. There was an old train there and the sign where it stood 9 ¾ was displayed clearly in front of him.
Someone bumped into him.

“Look where you stand, mudblood,” an arrogant voice said. A kid with lighter hair than Malik walked irritated past him. He looked as cocky as he could get. Bakura spat on his back and snickered as the spit ran down the boy`s robes. He had no idea what the term the boy had used meant. “Mudblood”? What was that? Probably something stupid.

“Look where you go, rich snot,” Bakura muttered. Apparently the boy had still been in earshot as he had said it. He turned angrily and glared at him with venom in his eyes. Oh? I have found myself a real brat, haven`t I? Bakura thought with glee.

“What did you say?” the snot asked.

Bakura snorted. “Didn`t you hear it? Then it might as well not have been for your ears, rich boy.”

Ryou stumbled out from the wall with his trunk.

“Haha, I hear everything!” the boy bragged. Bakura smirked, perfect.

“Including that I stole your wand?” Bakura pulled out a wand from his pocket. He had taken it when the boy`s had bumped into him and when a gleam of recognition flew across the boy`s face, which turned into horror, which turned into anger.

“You thief! Wait until my father hears about this!” The boy stumped his foot to the ground.

“Oh? You are going to tell daddy that a so-called, what did you call it? Mudblood? Whatever, stole from you?” Bakura mocked. He let out a laugh as the boy`s face crumbled.

“You are going to pay for this!” the boy shouted, some around looked their way. Bakura eyed the wand, he thought over what he could do with the situation. It was better to get rid of this wand right now.

“I doubt it,” Bakura said nonchalantly and tossed the wand towards the boy. He walked over to Ryou who had stood quietly and observed the situation. Malik, Kaiba and Harry were through the barrier by now.

“Why did you do that?” Ryou looked at him, he was definitively judging him. Bakura shook his head. “He was being an ass.”

---

Harry, Ryou, Bakura, Atem, Yugi and Malik had managed to find a compartment and set themselves down. Kaiba had gone off to find his own compartment, but Bakura doubted he would find any that were empty. Every compartment they had passed looked full.

Bakura was cramped up against Ryou, he had taken one of the window seats. Malik sat right in front of him and Yugi sat next to Malik. Harry had taken a seat next to Ryou, so Atem sat next to Yugi.

The train left the station and thereby all the relatives of the students were left behind. None of them had anyone to wave at as they left, because their relatives was behind in Japan or Egypt in Malik`s case. As for Ryou, his father was on a business trip and his mother was… well, that is a topic for later. Bakura shook his head, the bad feeling in his stomach emerged again.

He held his stomach as he felt the pain emerge more. What was this? He looked around, no one looked at him, they had taken to talking quietly between themselves. He did not know what to do and neither did he want to tell anyone so he stayed quiet.

“Excuse me, do you mind if I sit here? All the other compartments were full,” the ginger head from before had stuck his head in. Bakura glared, but the kid did not seem to notice him.

Bakura was about to say no, but Ryou beat him to it and nodded his agreement and so did the rest of the compartment. The ginger kid happily sat down beside Atem who quickly moved to the side, so he bumped into Yugi. He seemed to murmur something to Yugi who just smiled.

“I am Ron by the way, Ron Weasly,” the ginger head said.

“I am Harry Potter,” Harry introduced himself. Ron made an amazed face and Bakura narrowed his eyes.

“Wow,” Ron whispered. “So it's true?” Bakura had now his full attention on the interaction. This could be proved useful some way or another.
Ron seemed to try to stutter a question while he pointed at his head.

“Come on boy, spit it out,” Bakura said. Ron glared at him, but he did not give a flying fuck, because why? He looked hilarious with that look on his face. Bakura snickered to himself, as Ryou gave him a horrified look. Malik shared his smirk.

Bakura`s jab had worked, because Ron did ask his question, but he still whispered it “Do you have the scar?”

Bakura tried to lean out to see, but cursed himself when he could not. He only saw Harry show them something, most likely a scar. He still wanted to see it, but he
could not act suspicious. He lent back to the compartment sofa.

A lady who came and sold candy conveniently came to their compartment at that moment. Everyone just shook their heads, none of them had any money to spare and Ron took out a pack wrapped in plastic which looked like a lump of something.

Harry, however, looked thoughtful before he pulled out a handful of money. “We will take the lot.” The compartment was then soon filled with a bunch of different types of candies. Harry wanted to share too, while they had first refused, Harry had insisted. Bakura did not want candy and sat there, he observed what they talked about.

The others sat and talked about Hogwarts and what they were excited about. Bakura sat there and glared. He was quiet, which did not go unnoticed by the people around him. Ryou seem to have noticed it first, because he started to give him long looks to communicate something through the glances.

“What?” Bakura snapped, finally addressing the elephant in the room. He turned to Ryou who uncomfortably shrugged.

“Nothing, you just seem tense,” Ryou explained. The others had turned to look at them. He wanted to slap himself. This was suffocating.

“I am not tense, just observant,” Bakura`s lips tightened. He shut his eyes, he did not want to talk about this, and if Ryou was smart he would drop the issue.

“It seems like something, are you okay?” Ryou glanced at the others who had taken to quietly observing the scene on display. Bakura hated it, he wanted them to stop giving them such looks.

“I am okay, stop glaring!” he gritted his teeth, he was restless, too restless, this compartment was too cramped. He felt trapped. His hand shook, it was so cramped in the compartment, and everyone was staring. He wanted it to stop.

“Um… I must go…” he stood up and walked in a straight beeline towards the door of the compartment. The door opened.

“Have someone seen a-” the girl never finished her sentence as Bakura slapped her straight in the face. His mind went blank, what?

The girl stared at him, he took notice that she had brown, curly hair falling around her face in a wild gesture. Her brown eyes stared holes into his face, he could not imagine what his face must have looked like.

He broke out of the trance, before he pushed past her in an aggressive manner. He had not meant to slap that girl, he had wanted to get out of the room. What was wrong with him? Was he incapable of doing anything right? It certainly seemed like that at the moment?

He could hear that Ryou apologised to the girl inside the compartment, but he did not stay to listen. He marched down the hall to the end of the train. He stopped before the last compartment in the train and opened the door without warning, inside sat Kaiba and looked to write something on his computer.

Kaiba looked up at the sound of someone interrupting his peace. He glared at Bakura who reciprocated the glare back before he sat down nearest the door. Ron had mentioned that the train was full when he asked to sit with them, either that was bollocks or Kaiba had scared the people inside this compartment to leave. Both could be true, because that ginger head seemed a bit arrogant. He did not care if that was hypocritical.

“What are you doing here?” Kaiba hissed, he seemed angry. Bakura narrowed his eyes, his mind had been filled with all sorts of stuff these past days that he had forgotten about his fellow CEO. A rigid asshole in Bakura`s opinion, but that was his opinion on almost everyone. There was something about Kaiba that everyone knew, something that he said to everyone which did not align with his decision to go to this school. When Ryou had asked about Kaiba when they ate dinner yesterday, it crossed his mind that it was weird that they had not seen Kaiba. When he had thought about it some more, it was even weirder, since he did not believe in magic whatsoever.

“No, what are you doing here? Everyone knows you don't believe in magic and this school contradicts everything you believe in!” Bakura snapped back. He would never believe he would ever take this up with Kaiba, but nobody else was going to, so he might as well. This was the perfect timing.

Kaiba glared at him. “What? Did you come here just to interrogate me? That is in fact none of your business!”

Bakura glared back, no he had not come here just to interrogate the business man in front of him. He had wanted to escape all the eyes, the cramped atmosphere, but he would rather die than admit that to Kaiba of all people. He had honestly not known where Kaiba had gone when he had left the group.

“And what if I did?” Bakura smirked. Kaiba narrowed his eyes, before he huffed. He seemed to think for a bit before a cruel smirk seemed to rise on his face.

“Perhaps I should ask, who are you? You are a random person to me, you are somehow a look a like with that white headed friend of Yugi, but other than that I haven't met you until today. You have no business with me whatsoever,” Kaiba ranted. Bakura had not thought about that, sure, Kaiba had to agree that magic exists courtesy to him deciding to go to this school, but he had never officially believed that the millennium items were magical. He has only ever denied that fact like his life depended on it.

“Well, you could say that, yes, but you are more acquainted with me than almost everyone on this train,” Bakura settled on, it was not an answer in that sense, but it was somewhat a declaration. Kaiba huffed before he went back to whatever he did on his computer.
They sat in silence, not talking to each other. Bakura did not mind, it was not as cramped in here as it was in the other compartment. Kaiba had yet to throw him out, so he did not move either.

He let out a breath he didn`t realise he held in, he slumped in his seat. He closed his eyes, they felt instantaneously heavy. He lulled from side to side.

“You should probably go and change,” someone said. He shot up, he looked around. Kaiba, he glared. “What?!”

Kaiba sighed. “I just said you should probably go and change to your uniform, we are there soon.”

Bakura glanced out, the sky looked orange. He gulped, Kaiba was right. What had happened? Had he spaced out for so long? He did feel better, but he did not understand.

He rushed out of the compartment, his trunk was in the compartment where the rest of the group was. He paused, they were probably pissed, he groaned. He did not want to deal with that right now. He had to or he could disobey the rules which would be a bad move on his part.

He reached the compartment door, his lips were tightly shut. He debated on knocking, but let go of the idea. He opened the door unannounced. Everyone stared at him as he took down his trunk and pulled out the uniform. They had all changed to their uniform. He sighed, the train had to be at the station soon.

He took a quick glance and saw the girl he had punched was not there. Everyone was quiet and was staring. He quickly headed to the door with the uniform in hand.

“Bakura, are you okay?” Ryou`s voice rang loudly through the compartment. Bakura stopped in his tracks. He stood still. He debated what to do. He could ignore Ryou or he could answer the question. Lie.

“Yep, it was a goddamn good punch too,” Bakura smirked as he turned around. Ryou sighed. The last part had come unintentionally, but was very welcome.

“Of course you would say that,” Ryou muttered.

He glanced at the rest of the group. Malik observed quietly with a small smile on his face. Atem looked indifferent at the moment. Ron looked uncomfortable and Harry just stared. He looked to have a disgusted look on his face. Interesting. He could use that.

The train took that time to stop, making a loud noise abusing Bakura`s ears. He did not have time to change. He would just have to have it on top of his other clothes. He pulled the robes quickly over his head as everyone started to head out.

He wondered why no one took their trunks with them, he did not want to be the sore thumb out so he did not take his with either. He was a bit nervous that he would not get his trunk, but it was not like he had anything too important in there. He had his knife in his sleeve and his lockpicker in the pocket of his trousers. He had stolen back the knife he had stolen from that shop in knockturn alley from Ryou. Ryou had not noticed, but he doubted Ryou even knew he had had a knife on him as he do not remember that terrible monster.

Outside of the train Hagrid was waving all the first years over to him. Apparently they were going to take boats. Four people in each boat. Hagrid led them to where the boats were and people started to ascend into the boats.

He heard Yugi hitch as he stared at something in the water. Bakura narrowed his eyes, then he saw them. There were dark creatures in front of every boat.
“What is that?” Bakura muttered.

Ryou had also spotted them, he looked excited, opposite to Yugi.

“Hagrid, what is that?” Ryou asked curiously as he pointed to the dark creatures. Hagrid looked shocked as he studied Ryou. He had paused for a bit, before Hagrid turned back to normal.

“That is thesteral,” Hagrid informed and gestured to the creatures. Bakura had never heard of such creatures before, but he was sure there was something special about them. He would have to look them up later.

“How many of you can see them?” Hagrid asked.

“I can see them,” Yugi said. Ron looked terrified, while Harry looked confused. Bakura found this suspicious, what was it with these creatures? What was special about them?

“Can some people not see them?” Ryou asked. He seemed to study the creatures more carefully. Bakura did too, they looked like skeleton horses.

“Yes… but I think you should go into the boats or we will be behind,” Hagrid said. Bakura narrowed his eyes at Hagrid, there was something he did not want to inform them of.

Ryou, Bakura, Malik and Atem climbed into one boat while Harry and Ron had found a boat with another boy and the girl Bakura had punched. Yugi looked lost at where he should go as all the boats were full by now.

“Yugi!” Atem shouted and waved him over. Yugi trudged over to where their boat was about to go off the shore. Atem scooted over into Ryou. “Sit down beside me.”

Yugi looked from side to side where the other boats were being drawn by the thestrals. “I don't know, Hagrid said there were only supposed to be four students on each boat.”

Bakura rolled his eyes. “It is better than be left behind, you barely count anyway.” It was meant to be a jab at his height, but Yugi looked a bit hurt. Atem glared at him. He sighed.

“Come on, chill a bit, will you? It has only been a day since you got your own body, why are you so mad?” Malik asked beside him. Bakura huffed, he had been more snappy then he normally would have been. He was not about to admit that, though.

Yugi climbed into the boat, he looked a bit nervous. The boat started to move over the water. The sky had taken to grow dark. Bakura lent back. His stomach hurt; he huffed.

“Bakura? Why did you slap Hermione?” Ryou looked at him with intense eyes. Bakura did not know who Hermione was, but since he had only slapped one person today he assumed it was the brown-haired girl. He tensed for a second, before he sat up and narrowed his eyes at Ryou. He had no doubt that Ryou was angry; his eyebrows were turned downwards, his mouth was a thin line and his nose was wrinkled.

What was he supposed to say? He did not know why he had slapped the girl. She had come through the door and he was on his way out, so it just turned out like that.

After a while he finally said; “ I got caught off guard, I don't really know.” His face burned. He heard Malik snort beside him; he wanted to slap him.
“She was hurt,” Ryou pointed out. “Why did you leave in the first place? You seemed stressed.” Bakura shrugged uncomfortably. He did not like being interrogated like this.

He snorted. “I doubt she was that hurt, it was only a slap, you survived worse,” he avoided the question. Ryou glared at him and Bakura smirked back.

“Um… what Ryou is trying to say is that Hermione was hurt by your action… emotionally,” Yugi explained. Atem and Yugi had been pretty quiet throughout the course of the conversation.

Bakura was about to shoot back a snarky comment when Malik interrupted him. “Look!” he pointed behind him. Bakura studied Malik as he had stars in his eyes. He seemed excited and happy, peaceful.

He shook his head and turned towards where Malik had pointed. He almost let out a gasp himself. There was a castle there, a big castle which looked old. The king of buildings you would get a tour guide when you visited the United kingdom. Ryou had gone to a few back when he had initially lived in England, before his…

The castle looked like something straight out of a fantasy book. He probably looked like an idiot, so he turned around to see that the rest of the group also had stars in their eyes. He sighed. He looked at the other boats and saw that the rest of the first years seemed to have similar reactions.

They soon descended the boats to the shore on the other side of the lake. There Bakura hurried out of the boat and up to some stone steps where he stopped. He looked behind himself and saw that the rest of the group used their sweet time, but afterwards found both Harry and Ron.

Bakura watched as Malik left the group and went in between students towards him.

“So? Are you going to hide?” Malik smirked when he stood right in front of him. Bakura groaned, he could leave it to Malik to leave the group just to annoy him.

“Oh fuck off,” he muttered and glanced at Malik who had crossed arms and a raised eyebrow. He had a small smile on his lips.

“Okay, spit it out, what`s wrong?” Malik said, he looked annoyed.

Bakura wrinkled his nose. “Nothing is wrong, what are you going on about?”

“You are acting weird, you are more irritable and are much more like an asshole,” he pointed out and huffed.

“You say that I am normally not?” Bakura raised an eyebrow.

Malik rolled his eyes. “Nevermind,” he muttered. He went and stood beside him. Malik let out a sigh. It was quiet between them, the air a bit tense. The last they had spoken to each other alone was back when Malik had sent Bakura to the shadow realm. Bakura still bore a grudge because of that. It was technically not Malik who had done it, but still.

An old woman with a pointed hat called the first years over to her. Malik and Bakura walked together over to where she was.

She introduced herself as professor Mcgonagall and led them into the castle. They went through halls with moving pictures who talked which Bakura could hear some of the students whisper about. They also went up some stairs before they stopped in front of a huge door.

“Welcome to Hogwarts,” Mcgonagall started. “In a few moments you will pass through these doors and take a seat with your classmates, but before that you will have to get sorted,” she paused. “There are four houses, Griffindore, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and… Slytherin.” Bakura noticed that her tone had shifted a bit on slytherin as if she hesitated on that house. Bakura wondered what was so special about slytherin.

“When you are here, your house is like your family,” she said and gave everyone a look. Bakura doubted he would consider anyone a family.
She said something about how points from each house would be taken away if they broke one of the rules and that the house would gain points for good.
Mcgonagall vanished through the door and the students erupted into talking excitedly with each other. Some were nervous, which Bakura picked up. Malik and Bakura had ended up last in the group of first years, so they could only hear the people in front of them and murmur which echoed through the place they were at.
Bakura was confused as the nervous chatter dispersed into thin air. All the conversations had stopped, but Bakura understood when he heard a familiar voice he had forgotten where he had heard it talked. He could not quite hear what the voice said, but he could hear the high level of arrogance. It hit him then that the rich snot he had stolen from that morning was in some way causing a scene.

Bakura tried to push himself forward to hear what the brat said, but when he had reached ear shot Mcgonagall appeared and said they could walk in right now. He cursed under his breath. He could have perhaps gotten blackmail material, those types of people usually let sensitive stuff slip without noticing.

His eyes widened as they walked into a big hall where he was pretty sure every student at Hogwarts sat. There were floating candles in the air and you could see the sky, that would be problematic when it rained. There were four tables, he remembered there were four houses. The tables most likely represented the four houses.
Everyone stared as the first year made their way to the front where a table with the professors were. They stopped at the front of the tables, but Malik and Bakura were pushed in between two tables.

Bakura saw a musky hat which sat on a chair in front of the professor's table. He wondered what that was supposed to do there.

A voice rang throughout the hall and Bakura looked up to see Dumbledore. Bakura instantly glared at him and hoped it would burn a hole through him so he died. Dumbledore stated that it was forbidden to enter the forbidden forest at all costs and Bakura quietly snorted, as if he would listen to that. He also mentioned that if they wanted to avoid death they should not go to a stair, so now he warned them of danger Bakura thought ironically.

“Now, you will come forth when I call your name and I will place the sorting hat on your head. Then you will be sorted into your house,” Mcgonagall declared as she held up the musky old hat for them.

Mcgonagall started to shout students` names and the student would walk slowly up as if they were scared and sit down on the chair. The hat would be placed on their head and the hat would then shout out the house. Bakura had no idea how the hat determined the house one was supposed to be in, but it was interesting.

“Bakura, Ryou,” Mcgonagall shouted. Bakura had almost stepped up, but caught himself before he had done the damage.

Ryou walked up extraordinarily worried-looking, he seemed to glance from side to side at the professors to ask for permission before he finally sat down. The hat seems to have taken his sweet time on Ryou. Bakura narrowed his eyes, but he could not figure out anything.

“Gryffindor!” the hat shouted so it rang throughout the hall. The presumed Gryffindor table erupted into cheer and Ryou happily ran over to the table to sit down where he seemed to get pats on his back. He had a big smile on his face, he was at least happy with his house.

As some more people got sorted Bakura looked over to the professor's table. They all sat quietly and observed. They would clap as each student got sorted, except for one. When Bakura's eyes had landed on the man they had met in knockturn alley Bakura let out a quiet yelp. He did not like the man, he gave off the sort of wrong vibes.

“Hey, Malik,” Bakura tapped him on the shoulder as he whispered into the air. Malik froze; Bakura quickly let go of his shoulder. “Yeah?” Malik whispered back.

“That is the man we met in knockturn alley,” he pointed to Snape. Malik followed the finger, but appeared confused. “I don't remember ever meeting him before.” That's right, Malik had been asleep through the course of much of their adventure there.

“Right, you were asleep,” Bakura muttered. “Well, he pretty much hates us now since I threw some greasy stuff at him, but not as greasy as his hair,” Bakura snorted. Malik did so too, some people in front of them had started to turn around to stare at them in shock.

“Ishtar, Malik!” Mcgonagall shouted.

“Well, I guess it is my turn,” Malik muttered as he made his way towards the chair. He sat down on it, but he hardly had to wait.

“Slytherin!” the hat shouted barely even on his head. The room was quiet, there was no clapping. Bakura raised his eyebrows, what was this about? Malik had a horrified look on his face. “What no!” Malik said. Bakura grimaced. How embarrassing.

“Go now,” Mcgonagall said. Malik did not linger, but he went over to the table with hunched shoulders.

The sorting continued. Malik appeared to have a grim look on his face. Bakura wondered what all that was about.

“Kaiba, Seto!” Mcgonagall shouted and the crowd physically moved away for the high and mighty Kaiba as he walked up to the chair and sat down. Bakura could feel the confident radiation from him all the way to where he was.

The hat used even more time on Kaiba than he had on Ryou and when Bakura was sure it was never going to end the hat shouted: “Slytherin!”

This time a few clapped.

“Malfoy, Draco!” Mcgonagall shouted and the rich snot from before walked confidently over to the chair and sat down. Bakura frowned. The hat did not touch Draco`s head as it confidently shouted out Slytherin. Bakura blinked. If that snot got into Slytherin did that mean that many in Slytherin acted like that. Bakura looked closer at the table with Slytherin. Many of them had clean hair, new robes and sat high and mighty. Bakura suddenly felt very sorry for Malik.

“Mutou, Yugi!” Mcgonagall shouted. Some moved out of the way as a very short student emerged from the crowd of first years. He looked nervous as he sat down.

“Gryffindor!” the hat shouted, it had not used a very long time on Yugi. Yugi looked happy as he left the chair and sat down beside Ryou who also smiled. Bakura huffed, he was as different from Yugi and Ryou he could get; there was no way he would end up in Gryffindor. Dumbledore, as much as he hated him, had mentioned that the house was determined by your ideals.

“Potter, Harry!” Mcgonagall shouted. The hall which had been covered in whispers was in an instant silent. You could hear a pin drop. Harry nervously started to walk over to the chair. He sat down and the hat was on his head. Harry`s lips moved as if he was whispering something to the hat, he could not hear it, but he imagined Dumbledore could catch it as he sat right behind him. Bakura wanted to curse the man again, he would have sent him to the shadow realm by now if he could, but he can not.

“Gryffindor!” Bakura flinched back to earth as the hat shouted. It had been so quiet, but now the Gryffindors were having their loudest claps and shouting. Talk about being biassed.

After that the sorting went on.

“Sennen, Atem!” The hall erupted in whispers about the Yugi look alike. Atem, not as nervous as Yugi, walked up to the front and sat down. Bakura did have the feeling that the pharaoh had some hidden anxiety.

“Gryffindor!” the hat shouted, not taking nearly as much time as Harry. Yugi and Atem had almost the same time, but they were pretty alike except that Yugi is more childish. Bakura would consider Atem to be the more inferior in this world, of course.

“Weasly, Ron!” Mcgonagall called as there was only him and Ron again. Bakura noted that he was last, why? He thought back to how the sorting had taken place. It was alphabetical by last name and he - as far as he knows - has no last name.

Ron in true nervous fashion walked over to the chair and sat down. The hat got put down on his head. Bakura thought Ron should not have been nervous when the hat almost immediately shouted out Gryffindor. The typical sorting, not too fast and not too slow.

Bakura was the only one left on the floor. In front of everyone, they had all turned their bored eyes on him, they were all tired of the long sorting and Bakura was too. It had dragged on the only exciting bit left was his own sorting. A dreading feeling set in his stomach as he slowly walked over to the chair, careful not to show any weakness.

"Slytherin!" He had not sat down on the chair…
