Stark Tower.
Home to Hoshimachi Suisei and her “friends.”
Such a luxurious estate that stood tall and proud amongst the city of New York and looked down upon any other building. Something for the cars racing by and passerby’s taking daily strolls to admire. It has floors each with their own unique purpose and utilities. It has a magnificent glass exterior that shines against the morning sun and its radiance. And of course, you can’t not mention the large marvelous, starry, comet symbol crafted on it’s side near the top, letting everyone know just who this site belongs to.
Not that Suisei cared.
The blue haired star could be found at the top floor, that of which was connected to a balcony overseeing the city and had a bar found within its confines. The girl was lounging on a couple stools put in a row to form a makeshift couch in front of the counter of said bar, pouring herself a drink at the same time. She wore a simple school uniform, consisting of muted grey and blue colors, alongside a dark blue jacket tied around her waist.
“So, what’s the deal with sleeping beauty?” Suisei said aloud, not taking her attention off her drink.
Across the room, sitting on a couch placed in front of a large TV covering the wall, was a white haired girl wearing a white and blue striped T-shirt covered by a white unzipped jacket with a blue shark on the back. Resting against her shoulder with a deerstalker cap over her face and fast asleep was a blonde haired girl, dawning a brown detective outfit consisting of a light brown coat, skirt, and thigh highs. She also wore a black glove over her left hand.
The white haired girl frowned.
“Will you just call her by her name, Suisei? And for your information, she just had a bad night.” The white haired girl said.
The girl in question shrugged and got up from her strewn about position on the stools and stood up, taking a sip of her drink before answering.
“Hey, I’m just wondering if one of our members has something going on. After all, she’s been coming to these last couple meetings like this.” She replied nonchalantly.
“Oh just shove it up your ass, Hoshimachi. Like I’d believe you care an iota for her.” The white haired girl turned to face Suisei, anger written all over her expression.
Suisei herself just grew an expression of exasperation.
“God, you’re making it sound like I want to experiment on her or something. Am I really that bad of a person in your eyes?”
“A woman profiting from the fortune of their cursed parents and parading around like some hero when you’re just a person in a tin can? Yeah.”
Suisei rolled her eyes.
“Wow. Ok. Captain America, everyone. Beacon of inspiration and role model for the people.”
The white haired girl frowned.
Silence overtook the room soon after, settling in an uncomfortable air. The white haired girl put one of her own hands over the blonde haired girl’s own, the one without a glove. The warmth was comforting in the cold air to at came from their high altitude.
Meanwhile, Suisei just fidgeted with her drink, flicking it while still taking occasional sips.
Eventually, a ding from the elevator in the corner of the room drew the gaze of both currently awake girls. Once the doors opened, out came another white haired girl in a similarly colored dress and a black haired girl dawning a red detective outfit. The former had a green stroke in their hair and a golden wind up key coming out of their head, while on the latter, a slimy black mass began to move out of one half of her hair and retreat into the girl’s back to reveal a mix of black and white hair, half on both sides. The now two toned haired girl spoke first after a moment of slight shock at the scene before her.
“Woah. Who killed the mood.”
There wasn’t a response, save for the quiet reaction of the white haired girl on the couch appearing downtrodden.
“You okay, Gura?”
The girl in question was startled at the sudden mention of her name, but regained her composure quickly to reply.
“Yeah, I’m fine.”
“Mm. How’s Watson?”
“Had a bad night.”
“Gotcha.”
Despite being mostly unconvinced, the intruding duo took their own seats on lonesome chairs also near the TV, while Suisei got up from hers and began walking over to them, downcast.
“Perfect. Something to distract myself with…” She muttered under her breath.
“What was that?”
She looked up to see the girl with a green stroke in her hair looking directly at her.
“Huh? Oh, nothing, Terminator.”
Gura tightened her open hand into a fist.
Suisei, none the wiser, just moved to the center of all of them, now hovering over a table. With but a touch of her fingers, it lit up with holograms and data.
“Hey, Sharky? Wake up sleeping beauty why don’t you.”
Gura furrowed her eyebrows.
“Can you-“
“Tout de suite.”
A snap of Suisei’s fingers only served to anger Gura even more, but she let it go, instead starting to shake the blonde haired girl next to her.
“Ame… Ame, it’s time for the mission debrief.”
The girl began to groan, before weakly removing the hat off their face and leaving their eyesight to adjust to the light. They also held their left arm before glancing towards the girl sitting next to her.
“Gura…?”
“Yes, hi Stinky.”
“Pfft. Who’re you calling Stinky?”
Gura smiled for the first time this afternoon, before Suisei interrupted by clearing her throat and drawing everyone’s attention.
“Ok lovebirds, now that we’re all here, finally…” Suisei continued, casting a glance at the two toned haired girl.
“Hey, it’s not my fault my other half needs to have a snack every now and again.” She put her hands up.
“Yeah, yeah, whatever ferrofluids.”
A roll of the eyes from both parties.
“I digress. Avengers, we have a new mission…”
