A Gryffindor Malfoy
Summary
Y/N Malfoy had never liked her brother much and that didn't change as they started school either. Y/N was a shame to her family but certainly not to her new house.I do not own any characters. This book follows the Harry Potter books with Draco's twin sister sorted into Gryffindor.
Note
I had originally started posting this on Wattpad (user: whimsilara) but then I got my invitation to AO3 now so I thought I'd post it here too. I'm not sure if it will do well on either site but I'm enjoying writing it so far. I hope whoever reads it likes it.

Chapter 3

"What happened? Hey Y/N, can you hear me?" His voice is muffled. I can't tell where it is coming from. His voice sounded hoarse echoing in my ears. "Look at me Y/N."

I tilt my head up slightly to face him. His breathing is heavy. Confused, my lids flutter and open. My vision is blurry but I see a hint of red and feel warm, large hands lift me so I am sitting.

"It's okay. I'm here, tell me what happened." and a muffled "Aguamenti." Fred's words sound pained and for a second I think I could've sworn it sounded like he cared. A glass of what I assume is the water Fred just produced is lifted to my lips. As I come to my senses, I am very aware of his hand lightly brushing my waist as I gulp water.

I manage to choke out words. "Nothing. I had a drink that's all."

"Okay let's get you back to your dorm then." His words are reassuring but I can't help but feel as if I'm being a burden. I shouldn't of drunk as much as I did but I wasn't thinking straight. He helps me to my feet and carefully guides me to the Gryffindor common room. More people rush to us as we come in but Fred ignores them and instead takes the staircase to the girls dorm and knocks.

Despite Fred being gone now, I do not feel alone. Hermione Granger has taken it upon herself to fuss over me. Hermione sits by my bed with her soft hand against my sweaty forehead.

Her voice is almost as soft as her hand. Her words are velvety next to me. " What were you thinking? You could've been caught!" Her words seems harsh but her voice is worried and silky while saying them. She is muggle born but judging by the lessons I've had with her she has been doing a lot of research after getting her letter. I cant blame her, I would've done the same in her situation. I can somewhat imagen how stressful it must of been thinking that the people you would be going to school with would have known about magic their whole life and therefore know more about it. Unknowingly however she put herself ahead of most of her classmates by doing so because even the purebloods do not know as much as her.

She keeps talking to me, I keep listening. From her mouth the disapproving words seems almost endearing. At some point or another I fall asleep.

I look to the clock. I realise I missed dinner but for some reason I cant bring myself to feel sad about it. My dorm is empty. Even Hermione is gone from the room. The window is open. Despite the covers over me the wind is bitter and crisp against my forehead. Sleep overtakes me again and I don't wake up again until the light seeps through the windows the next morning.
