Hogwarts : The Bangtan Episode
Summary
Jungkook is a first year at Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. Haunted by ghosts of his past, he struggles to meet friends and fit in until a ray of sunshine Slytherin, and a Hufflepuff with infinite hair colors step in. Throw in a genius (but people-stupid) Ravenclaw, a terrifying and maybe evil Slytherin who just wants to sleep, a Hufflepuff who is all fun and games until he tries to hurt you on the quidditch field, and a Prefect who's face lives up to it's name, and you've got yourself Jungkook's new life.I wonder what would happen if bad people started lurking and doing bad things around our beloved ragtag social project.Their ages are totally not accurate to book ages, so just make them older teens in your head.

Jeon Jungkook and Dog Days

Jimin helped Jungkook get back to his room. He helped him bathe, and get clothes on too. He also helped him climb into his bunk, and when Jungkook woke up for dinner, Jimin was still there. They had not spoken one word the entire time.

Jungkook could tell Jimin had been crying. Not just while he was sleeping, but before, when Jimin found him in the woods. After he had transformed into his animagus form, everything changed. He had better hearing, smell, awareness, simply everything was better. He remembered the excruciating pain from transforming for the first time, the strange double heartbeat that basically ripped him in half. His memory got a little blurry there, but he remembered seeing a bright white light and then smelling him .

Jimin.

He had come to save Jungkook.

Or at least that's what it seemed like. Except Jungkook’s inner wolf basically was ready to rip Jimin apart. He was so confused and disorientated, all he saw was red. Thankfully, he managed to gain control, but he must’ve done it too quickly because he passed out as soon as he transformed. He woke up under a tree in the forest, Jimin staring into space while absentmindedly petting his head.

Jungkook wasn’t sure if it was a wolf-dog thing, but he kind of liked being pet.

Of course he’d never admit that out loud.

Never .

Now, Jungkook was limping around his room, struggling to get clothes on for dinner. Jimin sat in the corner, respectfully staring at the floor. He still hadn’t said anything, and the longer there was silence, the angrier Jungkook got.

He managed to get sweatpants on before he blew up.

“Why are you still here?” he barked, realizing internally that it was harsher than necessary. Jimin winced at his tone and glanced up, pain in his eyes.

“You can’t walk,” was all he said. Jungkook scowled because, yes, he couldn’t walk very well. He wasn’t about to try and make it to the Great Hall like this. He must’ve hurt himself transforming at some point, and now his right knee was all sorts of fucked up.

“Why were you out there anyway?” Jungkook muttered, limping from his bed to his closet to find a shirt.

“. . . followed Hoseok.”

“Why?”

“. . .”

I asked why.

“. . . I don’t know.”

Jungkook slammed the closet door shut, rattling the frame and making Jimin jump.

“Why the bloody hell not? Huh? Is it that difficult Jimin? Figure it out!”

It was at this second that DK and Jaehyun chose to open the dorm door, pausing when they saw what was happening. Jungkook shirtless, clearly angry, and a scared Jimin (who they knew Jungkook had a weird history with) sitting nearby, crying. Without saying anything, they shut the door and left.

The room returned to silence, and Jungkook sighed. He put a t-shirt over his chest, covering the small scratched and stretch marks from transformation. Luckily, his arms were fine and he wouldn’t need to cover them.

He moved towards the door, and as he opened it Jimin spoke up.

“Where are you going?”

“To dinner.”

Jimin didn’t respond. Instead he gathered himself, and followed, grabbing the door and holding it open for Jungkook. The Gryffindor stared at him, unsure what to say.

Jimin looked like shit.

He was covered in rainy, wet clothes, and he was caked in dried mud. Plus, he clearly looked like he cried his eyes out for hours.

“You. . .” Jungkook scratched his neck. “You can’t go to dinner like that.”

“. . . I don’t want to leave you alone. You can’t walk.”

Jungkook sighed. He took the door from Jimin and shut it, turning around and hobbling over to his closet.

“You can wear some of my shit. I want it back.” Jungkook threw a shirt that was too small for him at Jimin, and rummaged around for a pair of sweats he never wore. Typically, they’d wear robes to dinner, but it was a Saturday night, so no one would care.

Jimin didn’t respond, and he quietly changed. Jungkook turned the other way, respectfully keeping his eyes down. He didn’t know what to think of this whole encounter. He still was upset with Jimin. He was a traitor. It didn’t matter that he suddenly was caring for Jungkook. For all he knew, this could all be a trick.

So. . . why was he crying so much?

Jungkook pushed the question to the back of his brain, turning around when Jimin was done. Together, they left silently, heading into the common room. A few other Gryffindors were around, studying or chatting, but they all stopped and went silent when they watched Jungkook limp across the room. Their eyes followed him as Jimin quietly stepped behind, not helping, but close enough to step in if things got bad. He made it out the door before he stopped for a break, leaning against the castle wall.

He was breathing heavily, shifting his weight to his good leg for a break. Jimin watched him with something like pity in his eyes, and Jungkook felt a low growl come from his throat.

What?

Jimin glanced up at his eyes, and back down to his knee.

“Nothing. I just. . .”

“Spit it out.”

“I feel bad that you and Hoseok felt like you had to do this.”

“What?”

“I know you aren’t stupid or that impulsive. You wouldn’t have done this for the fun of it. You even got hurt. That means. . . something really is threatening you, and you felt this was necessary. I feel bad.”

Jimin offered his hand out, and reluctantly, Jungkook took it. They started slowly walking, taking their time to get to dinner.

“Why. . .” Jungkook started. “Why do you feel bad? You left us.”

“I didn’t want to,” Jimin answered quietly. “I didn’t think you wanted me back.”

“We don’t,” Jungkook replies brusquely.

“Exactly,” Jimin murmured.

“But still, why do you feel bad?” Jungkook asked again.

“I. . . I don’t know. I’m feeling a lot of shit that I can’t explain.”

“. . . I understand that,” Jungkook replied. For some reason, Jimin glanced at him with something like surprise, like he didn’t expect Jungkook to accept his answer.

The rest of their walk to dinner was silent. Jimin let go of Jungkook when they got to the Great Hall, which Jungkook was grateful for. He didn’t need everyone to see how much pain he was in. Jimin did stay by his side though, all the way till he reached his seat, which was by Jin, Namjoon, and Hoseok.

All three boys stared in shock as Jimin helped Jungkook sit down, then awkwardly step back.

“Uh,” Jimin rubbed his arm. “Hoseok? Are you okay?”

Hoseok nodded in response, uncomfortably covering a scratch on his arm. Jungkook could see plenty of small scratches and bruises on his face, plus a leaf in his hair. He must’ve been better off than Jungkook though, because he made it to dinner on his own.

Jimin turned to walk away, and Namjoon called out.

“Jimin?”

The Slytherin turned around, and everyone could see the tears that threatened to fall.

“You’re. . . you’re welcome to sit with us.”

Jimin bit his lip and looked at the floor. Jungkook watched as his eyes flicked over towards the Ravenclaw table, where Taemin was staring intensely. Jungkook didn’t understand it, but he could smell something strange from Jimin, something harsh and sharp coming from his skin.

“I. . . I don’t think so. Thank you though. Maybe. . . maybe another time. Goodbye.” Jimin walked away quickly, making a beeline to the Slytherin table. Jungkook watched him gather a plate of food, and then leave the Great Hall with it.

“That was. . . odd,” Jin said, quietly munching on a bread roll. “Care to explain?”

“Uh. . . Hoseok?” Jungkook looked to the elder, who froze.

“What me and you were up to has nothing to do with our estranged Slytherin friend.”

“It kinda does, because he found me .”

“Shit,” Hoseok sighed. He ran his fingers through his hair. “After dinner we’ll explain.”

“Hmm,” Namjoon hummed, sliding his cleaned plate away from him. He watched as Jungkook filled his plate with massive chunks of meat and bones. He then glanced at Hoseok, who was itching his hands with his nose. He then lowered his hands and spread his fingers, stretching them and eyeing them oddly.

Jin of course was oblivious to the whole interaction.

“So. . . I got a letter back from Harry Potter today,” Namjoon said.

“Really? About the you-know-what?” Hoseok asked, mouth stuffed with chicken.

“Yeah. I sent it from Hogsmeade, and picked it up there too. I’m hoping it wasn’t intercepted. I asked him to return it with a seal on it, and for the most part, it was intact.”

“Good,” Jin replied. “Have you read it?”

“Yeah. He told me he got it from Dumbledore and some other stuff about how dangerous it was. He also wrote about what he saw when he held it. Really creepy stuff. But he did say something. . . unfortunate.”

“What?” Jungkook asked, shaking his head like a dog after he itched his hair. Namjoon frowned.

“Let’s go to the Room of Requirement.” Namjoon stood up, grabbing Jungkook by the shirt collar and pulling him away from his food. “ Now.

“Awwww, but Hyung ,” Jungkook whined, scratching at the table to get his leg of lamb. “ I wasn’t donnneee-”

Now ,” Namjoon ordered, and Jungkook shut up, ducking his head and confirming exactly what Namjoon thought. Jungkook wasn’t sure why he felt like whining, or hiding. It was odd. But, he did his best to hobble along behind Namjoon, even if the man didn’t slow down. Jin and Hoseok scrambled after them. As soon as they rounded the corner outside of the Great Hall, a random broom closet appeared next to them.

Namjoon threw the door open and pushed Jungkook inside. He glared at Hoseok as he walked in. Jin lightly grabbed his shoulder before he shut the door.

What’s going on?” he whispered.

Just. . . laying down some rules,” Namjoon replied, quickly kissing Jin’s cheek and closing the door behind them. Jungkook quickly looked away, dodging Namjoon’s stare.

This time, the Room of Requirement surprised them in how it chose to present itself. It was by far smaller than normal, about the size of two bedrooms. On the far wall there was a table and chairs, with a map of Hogwarts pinned on the wall. Closer to the entrance was an open floor, with a soft rug. There were four chairs in the back, but Namjoon put himself in between them and the seats.

“Jin? Come here,” Namjoon said, reaching his hand out. Jin walked around Hoseok and joined Namjoon on the other side. Jungkook sent a quick glance at Hoseok, who was holding his head high. He had perfect posture, and Jungkook wished he felt as confident as him.

“What?” Hoseok asked, waiting for Namjoon to say something. “What’s this about?”

Namjoon suddenly whipped his wand out from his pocket, twirling it at Jungkook. He screeched, diving to hide behind Hoseok, but he was too slow. The spell hit his flank, and he felt himself contorting and transforming. Jin screamed as Jungkook hit the floor, fur growing in tufts. It was certainly less painful than the first time, but it still hurt.

Jungkook slowly stood up, shaking himself to lose and loose fur. Jin gasped and ran forward, holding Jungkook’s snout as he looked him over. Hoseok sighed, rubbing his eyes and Namjoon frowned. He crossed his arms and waited for an explanation.

“How’d you force him to transform?” Hoseok asked, reaching a hand down to pet Jungkook’s head.

“It’s a newer spell. Read about it in the paper. Now start talking.” Namjoon walked over, and Jungkook ducked his head in respect.

“We. . . well. . . I came up with it,” Hoseok said. When Yoongi left, I wanted a way to make myself in-expendable. I wanted to help. To hold my own. I’m a quidditch player, not a fighter. I’m not super smart or cunning. But I knew how to do the spell, so I stole the ingredients. Jungkook caught me in the act and he got in on it. We went through the whole process without anyone learning about it, until apparently, Jimin. Jungkook, care to explain that?

Jungkook pictured his human self, and transformed. Jin jumped backwards, surprised as the Gryffindor suddenly was a human again.

“He said he followed you, Hyung, outside. He must’ve watched us drink the potions. He followed me to my clearing, and was going to step in when I transformed. I almost attacked him, but then I transformed and passed out. He looked after me. Oh-” Jungkook reached into his pocket, pulling out Hoseok’s wand. “He saved these from getting washed away in the rain.”

“Shit, I totally forgot-” Hoseok pocketed his wand. “And so then he stayed with you?”

“Yeah. We talked very little. We certainly aren’t on good terms, but he did help me. I don’t know why, and neither does he. Supposedly.”

“Do you believe it?” Namjoon asked.

“That he wants back in? I don’t know. I can’t tell. All I know is he’s sad. All the time. He just smells sad. Speaking of which, why can I smell that?”

“It’s an effect of transformation. It’ll go away, but the first transformation always blurs the lines between human and animal-” Namjoon chuckled fondly. “When Yoongi first turned, he craved mice for about three days straight. It was awful.”

Everyone smiled gently at Namjoon's story. The Ravenclaw helped Jungkook stand up, then he turned towards Hoseok.

“So what are you? I have a few guesses, but-” Namjoon trailed off and Hoseok hummed.

“Well, I like my animal,” Hoseok replied with a smile. He took his jacket off and concentrated. Soon he shrunk, and his arms extended. Feathers grew as his mouth and nose seemed to melt. Jin chewed on his nails as he watched, and soon enough, a majestic brown and white falcon was in Hoseok’s spot.

“Knew it,” Namjoon smiled. He held his arms out and Hoseok flew up, landing gracefully. “At least I’m not the only bird anymore.”

Jungkook walked over and petted Hoseok’s smooth feathers, marveling at how soft he was. He noticed the falcon had a few discolored feathers on his face, and Jungkook wondered if human-Hoseok had those spots too.

Hoseok flew down after that, transforming back into a human. Except he struggled with the clothes part, and ripped his shirt.

“Shit, I liked that top,” Hoseok whined, having to put his jacket over his bare skin. “Well, now you know what we did. There’s nothing we can do about it, so scolding us is pointless.”

“I know, I know,” Namjoon hummed. He pointed at Jin, “Don’t try this stupid shit. It’s dangerous. They’re lucky it worked.”

“Yeah, yeah, I wouldn’t want that anyway,” Jin murmured. “It’s creepy.”

“Agreed. Now, onto the letter. Mr.Potter wrote and said he dropped it in the Forbidden Forest.”

“What?” Jungkook asked, the bad news hitting him.

“Yep. It’s somewhere in the whole bloody forest.”

“That’s actual shit,” Hoseok replied. “How will we find it?”

“I can look in my animal form,” Jungkook said. “I won’t find it, but I can try.”

“Worth a shot. I doubt accio will work, so maybe Jin can research tracking spells in the library. Hoseok, you’ve got a good eye as a falcon, maybe you’ll see it sparkle or something. I’m going to try and speak with Teeth. She might be able to help.”

“Careful Joon,” Hoseok chuckled. “She might jump you.”

“Well, it’s a chance I’m willing to take. Let’s deal with this tomorrow. I think tonight we need some rest. No more stupid shit.”
