Approved for Adventure
Hogwarts, August 7, 1998
“Professor, Minister, I have a plan that I was hoping you’d be willing to approve,” Hermione stated. “I would like to take a few students in our year, particularly the Slytherins’, out into the Muggle world to do muggle things next week. Such as a movie, a concert, an amusement park, the tube, and a few other things. The issue is, of course, the legal status of Draco Malfoy, which is why I was hoping since we’re honorary heads, and this could be considered an inter-house bonding experiment…that perhaps an exception could be made.”
“Besides Draco Malfoy and yourself, who else is in this group?” Kingsley asked.
“Harry, Ron, Neville, Ginny, and Luna to balance out the other five Slytherins, Pansy, Blaze, Theo, and the Greengrass sisters.”
“You are asking for a lot, Hermione,” he started, “but I think it would be alright with six famed war heroes there just in case. I’d say yes, but it’s up to the Professor, sorry, Headmistress.”
“I think it’s a wonderful idea, and I would love for the Head Girl and Head Boy to bond. Although I would recommend keeping this low-key until after it’s over. Honestly, I’m concerned about the influence Rita Skeeter has over the Wizarding public.”
“Solid advice, Professor. Thank you both.”
Hermione flooed back to the Burrow.
She ran in shouting, “They approved it!”
“Yes! Where do we start? A movie! What about a theme park?”
“You do recall the reaction to soda and …"
“How about a concert? Sirius took me to one once!”
“Of course he did.” Hermione laughed. “A movie sounds simple enough, but what do we see?”
"I can’t actually remember seeing a movie in a theater before Sirius. Wait, football!”
“That’s genius! It’s going to be a long and aggravating day! Oh, and we’ll be able to take the tube. Angel is the closest to Grimmauld, right Harry?”
“What’s football? And tube? How is an angel near Grimmauld?” Ron asked, trying to keep pace with the muggle world-centered conversation.
“We’ll explain it to you and everyone else soon. And Angel’s closest.”
“Community Shield will be any day now. And I know Arsenal’s hosting. I’ll be back in a few minutes!” Hermione shouted running out the door.
Ten minutes later she burst in, “Match on Sunday Manchester’s against Arsenal. Grabbed an updated tube map while I was at it. I hope we can still get seats!”
“We might have a bigger problem. We start on Piccadilly and end on Northern, doesn’t that mean that we have to transfer to…”
“Yep! We’ve got a lot of planning to do!”
“At least the people who want me dead wouldn’t be caught at a football match!”
“HARRY!!!!”
